Name a game that made you feel GENUINE excitement. A game that you were able to indulge into without a worry in the world! A game which made you feel apart of that world..
WoW Vanilla and WoW BC for me... NOTHING past that has ever been the same.
>inb4 learn games
I'd say GW (The first one not the shit that came after and that they names GW 2. Can't believe I pre-bought that shit ). But the game I spent the absolute most time on and was the most intense is definitely CS but it's not like there is a universe to it.
Fallout 3, so many hours on so many different characters.
I remember seeing dragon statues when I closed my eyes as a kid. Spent so many hours gliding.
Ocarina of Time
Pokemon Yellow,Blue, and Red
PSO Episodes 1&2
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
I was born in 1993 and had older brothers, started into D2 when I was around 9 haha.
aw shit, i cant even remember.. the server name started with something on K.. it was quit popular.
I remember when my guild did MC with only rare gear and the rumor spread on the sever like wildfire. then one of my mates ninja an epic when he was supporting an other guild, so we switched server after that..
EverQuest. For years, EverQuest. Still log into project 1999 occasionally
I was a severe addicted CS player as well.. CS 1.6 and source... Clan battles and practices were exciting as hell.. and even more so dodge ball, gungame, zombie, surfing, prop hunt, death run, strafing.. memories
eve online. Most exciting game I've ever played.
This nigga. This nigga right here.
Reinstalled it 3 days ago.
First time I played it (and to a lesser extent every following time) the storyline made forget where I really was for hours on end. It was just so immersive.
the best time where when you had lan partys without internet cus the wasnt any. when the only thing u could have was a old dailing modem with 56 kb/s dail up. and on the lan u collected so much porn u could from ur m8's. one time i had around 56 gb porn. good times
GTA san andreas. Trying to have sex with that crazy latina bitch, running over niggers on a bulldozer while blaring "all my exes live in texas", nothing fuels my nostalgia more than playing that game
This. Played RS for years until wildy was erased. Spent a year on the Old School server but just stopped playing recently. Finally had to give it up. As of late been playing LoL and really enjoying dominating mid lane.
I felt that the batman arkham series made me feel like I was batman. I was completely immersed in its universe. Same thing with castlevania aria of sorrow, symphony of the night, super metroid, dark souls and earthbound.
I prefer single player mode over multiplayer actually, but if it's a server you're looking for, try hamburg city.
So what's your favourite ship, ignoring stats?
Imho, the liberty defender has the best design.
I got into Starcraft because of my brothers an started playing when I was about 8, my friend introduced me to D2 in middle school and gave me his extra copy then his dad gave me his extra LOD that he had. It's been my favorite game ever since.
it was nuts
made a lot of friends, and even more enemies.
nothing like raiding with 20 friends, or getting raided at 3am.
getting a text from ur crew to get ur ass up and defend the base.
Eagle is the Zoners very heavy fighter. And almost as ugly as the Corsair Titan.
Sabre all the way baby, best manouverability, best firepower, almost as armored as the Titan.
And I can see the appeal of the Rheinland ships, the green stands out from all the grey.
Where're you from if I my ask, since you've not played the english version?
I think microsoft is actually offering a free download nowadays, no idea where I got my ISO.
There was a Jap fighter I really liked. It could mount a strong shield and handle the power of Kraut guns with minimal recharge.
Forgot the name of the bloody thing. It's been years since I last played.
I got San Andreas on my phone so I have it when I'm going on trips or on break at work, it's awesome having it whenever I want to play something that's not a shitty mobile game.
Me too, OP. WoW Vanilla and BC were unprecedented in their abilities to make me so excited.
I remember playing wc2 when I was in elementary school and when wc3 came out my brother and I played that shit like crazy. Once I started college, I started hearing about WoW and looked it up. It looked incredible, so we gave it a try.
My first and favorite character ever was a night elf rogue named Shaymus. My little brother started a night elf hunter named Dannas. That first realization that the whole world was so huge and seamless was incredible.
I got to 59 and just sat there doing PvP in AV, WSG, and AB and refusing to level, like my brother and my friend Tyson did, because BC was coming out and I wanted to wait because I knew the Outland greens would be better than the Vanilla purples. I was right.
But that night before it came out my friend Tyson and I were waiting at the Game Stop in line with a bunch of other WoWfags to get our reserved copies. We took Adderalls and stayed up all night checking out the new zones in Outland. The next year or two were the best gaming years of my life.
The dragon had those wing-thingys, and the barracuda was pic related.
Habs nur wegen nem Freund draufgehabt, so für Multiplayer halt. Aber der Singleplay war schon ne coole Sache. Hatte für die Zeit ne interessante Story. Damals als noch die Story wichtig war lol
> implying DOOM isn't one of the best games ever
> played for hours and hours
> Columbine happened
> won't see another violent video game again until I'm 16
As an adult, this is one of the only games I play.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarine of Time
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature PS1
Harves Moon: DS
World of Warcraft.
Loot drop is shit, I don't mind the new flashy graphics too much but I don't care for them much either, wayyyyyyy too easy, crusader is the most OP shit I've ever seen, and the story is a little dry compared to D2 though it does a good job of picking up and carrying on where D2 left off.
Fuck, this happens to me sometimes too. At some point me and my friends played almost exclusively for finding bugs and hidden areas. We'd spend hours just fucking around every day for years without a care in the world. Then I wake up and realize I haven't talked to a single one of them in over 4 years.
never played any dues ex games till human revolution on ps3 and it gave me some epic feelings while playing was decent game.
dipped into counter strike source back in like 2008-10 it was fun as fuck...strictly gun game, using hot chick pics for my spray, btards every where, lots of laughs and jokes over Mic.
I played this and beat it, but had a hard time. Then I played Fallout 1 and died like a million times until I figured out how SPECIAL works, then beat Fallout 1. Then I went back to Fallout 3 with a full understanding of SPECIAL, put half of my perks into improving special, and was one-shotting everything in the game with the unique plasma cannon you get from the android guy from like sniper distance. Shit was so cash.
Fallout 2 and Bioshock. Fucking great games.
>Mass Effect 1
>Most N64 games
>GTA V, PS4
>Watched a friend play Walking Dead, had me interested enough to be excited
>Shadow of Colossus when it first came out, same feels as FF12
>Diablo 2, C&C Firestorm, and Runescape during the H4XX0R Crusades/04
Had high but dashed hopes for WoW, Dark Souls, Mass Effect 3, Oblivion/Skyrim/ESO, Star Wars MMO, and was immensely excited for 1313//Battlefront 3.
Inquisition is a singeplayer mmo. Wtf is the point?
Bioshock and Halo 3 Custom Games with the boys.
>over 900 hours played
>not a single level/rank earned
(Aside from being admin in a couple dozen servers)
>not a single regret
The warriors game.
There are plenty of games mentioned and games not mentioned that have made an everlasting imprint in my life. But the Warriors as I've never played a game where I could replay the same fight in the same location with the same characters over and fucking over, the sheer execution of how the fights worked in that game I have never seen and doubt I'll ever experience in a game.
Morrowind and Oblivion
Diablo (all of them)
Zoo Tycoon (only the first one)
Final Fantasy VII (This was a huge game)
Jack and Daxter I and II
Crash Bandicoot I, II and III and Crash Cart Racing
Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor AND VIII: Day of the Destroyer
Those are the only games that have sapped hours and hours and hours of enjoyment playing through it, and never gets old playing through them.
Few years back when it the mod was starting to get popular, I had holidays I had to take off work, took a random week off, spent 12 hours each day with my mates that entire week on DayZ.
Never have I had heart palpitations from fighting other players in a game. Majority of the time I could get gear in a couple of hours, log out and be too scared to log back in.
I agree about vanilla and TBC WoW.
but my ultimate nostalgia game would have to be Quake 3.
Spending weeks on end training, learning how to perfect jumps and timing.
Flying around Dm6 on 2v2,
Air rockets man.
Now in Overpoch you get a gun and a heli within 20 min or less. And the Standalone sucks atm, but is progressing. The mod has a certain feel though thats way better than SA. SA is just to..clunky.
Games that have delivered epic highs: Chrono Trigger (the whole game); Final Fantasy VII (Aerith dying and spending hours breeding Chocobos); Super Smash Bros (and to a lesser extent Melee); Alpha Centauri (every playthrough); Diablo (hearing "Ahhhhh... Fresh Meat" is one of the few distinct moments I recall in my early gaming life); playing my first RTS in Warcraft II in some demo computer set up in a Circuit City or some shit; the moment the Flood attacks in Halo 1; Halo 2 campaign & playing Tower of Power on Ascension with my whole dorm floor linked together through the LAN; WoW Vanilla; GTA IV and V; Mass Effect, and moments in 2 & 3; Minecraft; and both Portal 1 and 2.
Well, if it sends shivers to my spine and gets me excited then it's a good game ( feels like i described orgasms....) Mostly wow and WoD story ( etc the frostfire ridge end battle, prophet velens sacrefire, blackhand scenario)
Mount and blade : warband Napoleonic wars
By far my favorite game
I agree OP
>tfw playing as an elf rogue with mates on skype
>tfw getting that first +1 agi dagger
>tfw learning sneak and backstab
>tfw warrior tanks and I rape them from behind
oh my gawd.
fast forward several years
>be a dwarven warrior in a friendly czech guild
>lvl all the way up to 70
>full sunwell gear
>doing karazhan just for fun
it was the best dungeon still
DotA 2, especialy tense games
NO GO BACK GO BACK GO BACK
NO MAN I CAN DO IT
OH MY GOD THE CRIT THE CRIT CRIT
TAKE THE ANCIENT TAKE THE ANCIENT TAKE THE ANCIENT
OHHH MY GOOOD WE WOOON
You young niggers wouldn't understand.
SCOTLAND FOREVER! *pipes*
Get a piper to the enemys walls.
I shall play you the song of my people.
Damn I used to play WoW, I remember when I first stepped through the dark portal with my first main. Right when it loaded and I was in Outland this lvl 70 rogue is right next to me and he says says "welcome to Outland young hunter." Then takes off on his flying mount.
