Imagine this:
There is a hole straight throughout the world.
If you jump in, what would happen? I think you come out at the other side of the earth upside-down and you could walk on your head.
I can't imagine that because it is not possible.
>or, you would slam into the gravitational center and crush yourself into a pea

Maybe you just don't have any semblance of creativity in your fat-fuck head.
>>591840800
Why wouldn't that be possible? Just a lot of work but hey...
You would accelerate at such a high rate you would burn up, if you don't get crushed by gravity first.

You would get stuck in the center and crushed by the gravity.
Implying you removed the molten metals first, of course.
Accelwration and pressure would kill u

You would pop out the other side, at nearly no velocity and be able to step out if the hole onto the ground.
You would be cooked alive by the heat generated from surrounding rock.

This.

no, no don't do that
You would yo-yo back and forth until you stopped in the centre of the earth, floating, weightless. You probably wouldn't make it completely all the way to the other side due to air resistance, so you'd fall back, almost to the beginning again, but not quite. And so on and so on until you stop in the middle.
Interesting factoid. It would take you exactly 42 minutes to get from one point on the earth to any other point on the earth using a gravity tunnel like this.
You'll keep going up and down the whole until you get stuck in the middle (assuming the molten magna doesn't turn you into ashes or gravity doesn't crush you)

>just a lot of work
>dig through earth's core
I think he meant for you to assume you could survive, and was curious if you would fall to the other side and keep going to stay in the center.
>>591840567
you'd basically slingshot up and down forever, assuming the centre of gravity for the earth is right in the middle of the tunnel, you'd gain exactly as much momentum on the way to the centre as you lost on the way back to the centre, and vice versa for eternity.
>>591840567
the earth is not solid, oly the crust is.
but for the sake of the idea, you would not be able to get near it because of the wind

why havt we made 1000 of them so far to travel.
>>591841361
no would accelerate at a rate no higher than the rate you are currently accelerating at
>>591840567
you or what remains of you would be incinerated at earth's core, you'd never make it to the other side because gravity would be highest at the center
>>591842649
vsauce/10
>>591843677
With depth, gravity would decrease. At the core it would feel like weightlessness.
>>591843677
But you wouldn't be crushed there, you would "yo-yo" around the center.
>>591842065
dont listen to this guy, he doesnt know shit about physics
why else is the center of the sun fusing so many elements? because the gravity there is so intense
>>591843649
Because they are pointless and hard to make
