I'd take C. Dat guide. Rifle ain't killin shit plus not /k/tard so no aim/knowhow. Fuck medical/pill shit, that's a luxury. I'll settle for unpolluted streamwater and remedies I find in book. Learn to make fire with book as well. Hunt small animals with rope from traps.
Lol you can you dumb fucks have never been camping or hunting before. A is the only answer you are on a tropical island it rains all the time the river streams will have fresh water , hell if you really wanted you could boil it. You dumb nigs would starve to death or die from an infection from trying to stick rock dildos in your asses.
>>583924705 >>583924865 >>583925324 >>583925159 >Implying basement-dwelling manchildren such as myself and edgy teenagers know fuck-all about survival >implying most fags who think they know have actually only read shit online
only 10 foot of rope wont be enough to do anything that you cant just do with vines.
Its easy to start fires and boil water without the equipment.
Knife is better than the other two because anything small enough to dare getting in melee with you will want speed and accuracy rather than slow power. Anything big enough to not engage, the rifle will be handy.
A, Not sure what you will need the water pills for, the water should be clean unless the dinos are shitting in it or large amounts of bacteria are in it. The SAS book would be good but the medikit an gun beat it. Gun is for hunting and making noise, you are not killing many dino's. Just hide in the trees as much as you can.
>>583927323 Maybe for a neck beard faggot like you, I have been hunting camping a few times a year for the past 17 years nigger I know how to start a fire without a lighter, but enjoy not being able to eat much . You wouldn't be able to survive three ficking years if you can't hunt.
>>583927727 No a mes kit would save you from your a final infection faggot, lol Dino piss water you think animals don't piss in the water you drink from a river dummy? Hahahah fucking cunny doesn't know anything about life outside of the internet.
That wouldn't be an issue in either case, though, considering that strings and various kinds of mesh-like constructs can be created from grasses and tree fibers (you can make them pliable by heating them in water, preferably with a caustic agent from ash for example).
I'd be fucked no matter what but I think B is the best choice.
Axe may not be optimal but should get most jobs done.
Being able to start a fire without rubbing wood / use flint like a caveman is great. A fire is essential to keep bugs and predators away (t-rex prolly won't care though...)
Clean water is the key to survival, you can survive without food for quite some times, but not without liquid. Seeing as this island most likley will be infested with various bugs and parasites in the water, they should help alot.
>>583924016 B because water is essential to survival as is shelter and you can probably build a neat shelter as well as fire for warmth from chopped wood. Maybe leave the fire out tho in-case t-rex sees it. And you better get good with that axe if there's deer/ rabbits or you're gonna be eating leaves for 3 years.
Not A: Hunting rifle bullets aren't gonna do shit against a dinosaur anyway and even if there's other animals you can shoot for meat, fucking t-rex is gonna come when he hears the gunfire and stomp your shit up.
Not C: Failing to see the use for rope and machete is only useful for attacking things while axe can do that and is useful as a tool. SAS survival guide wasn't written for living with dinosaurs.
It's B because you can just make a rope to climb into trees like our ancestor monkeys, plus the axe can chop real wood to build a proper shelter or large spiked vietcong titty traps better than a knife or machete
>>583924705 >Machete > Axe You idiot. Try chopping some firewood with that machete. Try building shelter with that machete. Ever hear of a "Machete Murderer"? The only thing it is good for is cutting illegal pot plants
>>583924016 Eagle Scout here, hoping to offer some insight. Knife - Incredibly useful as both a weapon and tool, on top of the fact that it's lightweight. Medkit - Must have, in a tropical environment, this is a must have Gun - The only item on this list that will be any good for hunting Axe - Heavy and doesn't provide much utility as a tool, only good for chopping down trees, useless when hunting or fighting dinos Water pills - Only if you don't know how to filter water/are a pussy Fire starter - Only if you don't know how to start a fire Machete - Good for cutting vines, but inferior to knife in terms of utility Rope - Can be made from vines Book - Only if you don't know shit about survival, in which case, you probably wont make it anyways Case and point being: A if you plan on surviving, B if you don't know how to survive, C if you think you're gonna be en edgy TV esque badass with a machete
>>583926607 >getting food is a piece of cake now OP you have never gone hunting have you? even with this shit we have today hitting an animal for a killshot is still a skill that you develop over time, especially to do so without gutshotting which can ruin meat, along with knowing how to skin clean and butcher, and best of all how to track a wounded animal. This is not fucking COD you ignorant fuck, go outside faggot, nothing about hunting especially for survival is a piece of cake.
The knife is not incredibly useful in relation to the axe/machete, as it is too small to be used efficiently both as a weapon and in order to chop down trees and create firewood/construction material.
Medkit - Agreed. It can still be outweighed by using other options.
Gun - Will attract too much attention. Hunting can be done with spears (for fishing, too), and the rope can be used to create traps and nets for fishing/trapping - as well as baskets for foraging.
Axe - It offers a HUGE utility as a tool. Firewood. Construction. Weapons making (spears). Inferior as a weapon, though.
Water pills - Not needed, indeed.
Fire starter - A lot of people knows how to start a fire, but it's really hard to do so. It takes skill to start a fire through friction.
Machete - see >>583930757. Can be used to create firewood and construct things and is the best weapon.
Rope - can be made from any kind of plant fiber. It's just that having some from the start would be golden for webs, construction, creating spears.
Book - is golden. Truly. I hope you're not implying that you know everything that is to know in the SAS survival guide. Books are one of the best things to have in order to survive mentally in solitude.
>10 feed of rope is a joke. >water purifier is good for about the first year, after that you are building up an immunity to whatever is in the water. >building a fire gives you something to do why take that away. >the book is a loss after the second or third rain storm unless you have shelter. >The axe and the Gun are game changers however. The axe can help you build an honest to god shelter over a long period of time, none of this cave or lean-to crap, but something that would keep the bigger predators ignoring you. Getting it up in time would be an issue.
The gun however could win, depending on caliber and amount of ammo. 10 rounds of .30-06 or higher caliber and its not even a contest any more. You could concievably kill a T-rex with that. Bag a t-rex and you have dried mea for months. Cover yourself in its scent glands and piss and almost every predator on the island is going to avoid you like the fucking plague, the smarter critters will take one sniff of you and be like "hey man, we don't want any trouble, thats your corner of the island and shit, take some of our bitches ok?".
If its a .223 or other deer caliber than I would go with the axe for construction building, Fuck a house, I would build a god damn indian fort with 30 foot walls. Got time to kill.
>>583932029 haha thank you, it kills me when all these basement dwellers are like "yeah man id be snipping mad shit" half of them couldn't find the safety let alone efficiently kill a god damn squirrel with broken legs
>>583931860 You're not going to be making spears with an axe and if you need to chop trees down for firewood, it won't make good firewood, you need things that are dead and dry so that they burn instead of smolder. Building shit is a waste of time against a 10 ton dino, therefore the axe is a waste. Gun is still your best bet for hunting, attention or not. More than likely, it will scare dinos off. Machete is only useful until it dulls, knives hold their edge longer and are easier to sharpen because you're chopping with a machete, but cutting with a knife. Ten feet of rope is about as useful as not having any rope at all. And as far as the book goes, there isn't anything it can tell you that you shouldn't already know. If you don't know things like animal trapping and identifying plants then you won't make it. I've already resigned myself to that fact. >>583931917 Axe is a waste, see above for reasoning. Machete is slightly better but again, see above
Survival stuff, from someone who has survived in the woods for weeks at a time... here goes. > rifle > ammo > flint/tinder with a couple of extra lighters > water purifier > Fishing twine > fish hooks > antiseptic > knife > bowsaw/ axe though bow saw way easier to use.
Starting a fire without a fire starter is a huge pain in the ass; but it can be done. I've never done it so I'd struggle; but I know how its done and I'd have plenty of time to practice.
Cordage can be made out of vine so the rope is pretty much worthless.
Three years of water would weigh a ton so you wouldn't be able to move it from where you got it aside from scooping it out one load at a time. If there is NO water on the island then you have to take the water; but from the pictures you provided it looks like there is.
>>583932509 I've done it before, you can do it. Idk if it works with rifle powder but it did with shotgun powder. I made a tinder ball and held it about an inch over the pile. You could easily shave cotton off of your clothes if you had to as well.
>>583932683Cartridge (firearms) Watch this page A cartridge (also called a round or a shell) is a type of ammunition packaging a bullet or shot, a propellant substance (usually either smokeless powder or black powder) and a primer within a metallic, paper, or plastic case that is precisely made to fit within the firing chamber of a firearm
>>583933475 >Knife medicine and gun is the obvious choice.
You can actually make a knife from rocks, I have done it when I had a weekend to kill. With enough time you would even nap a really really fucking good knife and make spares. Even a few days of working with rocks you would end up with something that will cut a bitch or at least cut up a carcass. As handy as a bowie? hell no, but will get the job done.
>if you chose A you have to hide in caves or somewhere else, >its easier to hunt small dinosaurs but you will have to start a fire with small wood that is on the ground, probably wet, >med kit not that important here B >axe is the best for shelter making >fast clean water is god tier here >fast fire is good too C >good for shelter making but slower then axe, can kill small dinosaurs >rope will help you on your shelter, can help you climb trees, traps and shit, good >this survival book is also really good to start a fire, because if you really need it you'll die
>>583933474 If only, my concern is that all the chopping you do with an axe or machete will dull your blade a lot faster than if you were just cutting with a knife. You could actually look into constructing an axe with a branch, some rope, and a sharpened stone i guess
A without a doubt. I'll do the method of elimination here: An axe is hopeless for fine cutting work. Knife is the only real tool you need. Same goes for machete, although the machete might actually work.
A medikit (and its contents) is the only thing on this list you can't improvise in the wild. You wouldn't believe how many people succumb to infections if they don't die of dehydration first. Water purifying pills? They'll run out. Rope? Easy to make. Water can be boiled to have an infinite source of water. We all agree the fucking book is useless. Then it's down to the rifle vs. the fire starter. You know what bullets contain? Gunpowder. If you're too much of an idiot to understand how ammunition can ignite something you're dead already in this game. The rifle can also be used for other things, but is by far the most useless of the three items in A.
I'd go with A. But before you call me an autistic fag let me explain. It's about being resourceful and creative. More options with A Rifle scope can start a fire/hunt Knife can clean animals cut smaller trees for shelter Medikit can be used for medical, bag for carrying things, bandages can start fire as well as some medicines, plastic bags for holding water, roller gauze can be used as rope, and so forth Lot of options to think outside of the box with A
you'll be making the shelter at least at canopy level, the worst that will happen is a brachiosaurus will be sniffing ur anus at night go ahead and live in the burrow and watch a t-rex take a shit on your dumb fucking head
>>583934763 >You cannot just walk around all day looking for ammo.
The big question is if you start off with any ammo. Even just the 5 rounds in the magazine or one in each barrel of a elephant gun. Thats enough to go out and find more ammo. If you have to start off day one fending off raptors and t-rexes with a unloaded club and a bowie knife, then your fucked from the start with section A.
axe = chop down trees, build a shelter/fort clean water = survive for quite a while without food fire = scare predators away and cook food once you get it, also good for light if you find a cave to live in, or if your fort is underground in some way.
A - rifle is too loud, attracting dinos to you. Also miss, and then what? Knife doesnt have thhe range or power as the ax or machete. the medical supplies would be good assuming if you are attacked you survive in the first place.
C. machete is good. rope could be useful in shelter, climbing trees, and the guidebook will help you survive assuming there were no dinosaurs. So all in all not that helpful.
So clearly I choose B. Ax is effiecent enough as the machete in killing small dinosaurs. The water purifying pills will keep you hydrated no mater the water condition, and the fire starter will scare away the dinosaurs.
going to go with A. Nice heavy knife that will do the work of an axe only slower. Nice metal first aid kit for storing, transporting and boiling water, and a club/rifle. as I could make fire without tools when I was 12 (yeah, loser scouts!)I assume I can still do that.
>>583924016 The island looks like it has a lot of trees on it. >wood >survival guide and fire starter are out because wood use medkit box to boil water >water purifying pills out how are you going to kill a dino with a gun >out machete would be best in this situation >but you could still make a spear with a knife i would use the rope to make traps I would have to go with A Knife to gather wood, make spears, skin game. Medikit to treat wounds and boil water. Hunting rifle for game. Couldn't kill t-rex with.
do you guys even robinson crusoe? 3 years of solitude will make anyone go mad. the book is probably the best thing on there. i would absolutely pick C, but the axe>machete. Cause fuck fighting velociraptors. I am not going to risk fighting dinosaurs, so hiding, setting traps by rope, and capturing small herbivores by the book is best, plus all that free time will be mitigated with a book of any kind. but the machete is real crap in comparison with the axe. gotta love axes, but then again, chopping wood with anything to make shelter is gonna make some noise and leave one's attention off their surroundings. the raptors are gonna be a real threat to any option if they're as coordinated and swift in jurassic park.
>A Useless >B Surviving for starters >C Best choice, you can refer to the book for info if needed, machete can be used here for multiple situations, and rope for shelter and constructing pieces for survival.
C, obviously. If you can start a fire, you wouldn't need the purifying pills, so B is wasting a slot, A is stupid because dinosaurs probably don't give a fuck about bullets, and firing a gun would attract all of them.
C has a survival handbook, and a sharp edge, so thats all you need.
>>583935280 I suppose what the canopy is like - how difficult is it for a human being to swing around like a monkey up there?
Also - there's the questionable validity of my original premise that the island is teeming with predators. A normal jungle has jaguars, etc, but an average person would probably be safe to walk around for a while without meeting one.
I think even for a non-survivalist, A might be a decent option because once you find some ruins you might be able to use them as a shelter/fort, as well as possibly finding additional supplies there (possibly even ropes, axes, lighters, etc). Or you would get eaten.
I really don't see why everyone's writing off the survivalist book, though. Doesn't it tell you how to do everything?
>>583936265 >the fire starter will scare away the dinosaurs. It *might*, *kind of* scare them away. Eventually they'd probably work up the courage to eat you.
Water purifying is only necessary assuming that all the water on the island is contaminated. Does anyone know how likely that is? because otherwise you're going to need to boil everything using the fire you don't have.
Also, with B, how do any of you plan on feeding yourselves? You're going to have to forage and will probably get eaten in the process.
>>583924016 A. The iodine pills and flint from B are useful, but only in speeding things up. You can just boil water, and make fire without. The book from C might be useful, but you can figure most of that out. And you can just make rope.
But the gun, bullets and medikit from A are all things you CAN'T get without that. So it's the only sensible answer.
>>583937641 You're compartmentalizing the problem just to make it seem like there isn't one. Choose A and you get eaten while looking for ammo, Choose B and you starve or get eaten while foraging, choose C and you'll just wander around in circles macheteing the flora for no reason.
The point is that you don't know all the particulars of the situation. And even if it did state that you're in a thick jungle that doesn't mean you should choose C, because it could be a chick jungle with tons of dinosaurs and a lot of rain/wetness...
Something you need to understand. Water Purification tablets kill the bacteria in your stomach. They are designed to be used as emergency short term use only. One years worth of those pills would have you gut pretty much sanitized.
C - I try to stay on the coast, hide, learn to trap and fish and make fire. There's no way I survive for 3 years without a dinosaur finding/eating me. B- same A- I set off quietly and carefully looking for ruins. I might get eaten, depending on how many predators there are, but in the real world you don't have jungles teeming with predators, they're few and far between (because if there were too many they would starve). I find 'ruins' (which could include tons of useful supplies, including food), get the ammo, and hopefully use the ruins as a shelter. Maybe there's even a gameboy w/ solar charger.
I could see people suggesting to choose B and build a shelter in the trees, but we're not monkeys, you guys, you're going to have to come down from there to get food and water, and that's the perfect time to get killed.
