good thing we're not on /a/ or you would get absolutely fucked on for having elfen lied on that list.
Anyone know of a good site for streaming? I've been meaning to watch Naruto again from the beginning, as well as Case Closed and Fullmetal Alchemist

Yamada's First Time is hilariously good.
>>581452859
ah, then watch the anime. the cliffhanger that it ends on will probably get you to binge the manga. It isn't long, and the ending is pretty fucking good.
>>581452647
The first few episodes were much better then the later ones. I liked the sense of fear the people within the walls showed when giants with creepy ass faces come rolling in. The plot gets somewhat strange about 6 episodes in. Enjoyable but less so than the first few.

1. Toradora!
2. Nagi no Asukara
3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
4. Sword Art Online (I'm putting on my bulletproof vest right now)
5. OreImo
Toradora! to me is the best love story ever told in anime, while Nagi no Asukara is the greatest romance story ever told in anime. Would recommend NnA to everyone who enjoys romance.
Currently following Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis. Utterly brilliant so far, and Amira is a total qt3.14. Makes for a good action show.
Slice of Life recommendation has to be Inou Battle, though I realise the fantasy parts may disqualify it from being SoL. Trigger is pretty legit, is all I'm saying.
Sci-fi recommendation is definitely Steins;Gate. I cant believe I only got into that show this year. Should have caught on so much earlier.
Love Live is a show which, although I enjoy the songs, I think the show is pretty meh. I wouldn't recommend it.

Champloo seemed to have an end goal: Find that flowery motherfucker. Bebop was just them trying to keep their heads above the financial water while spike wrecks shit. Similar feel, but Champloo also had a certain style to it as well that Bebop seemed to lack.

Well I only watched the first 5 episodes before I sorta just lost interest. It was a bit too quirky for me, the older guy is just too much of a spaz, I didn't really understand the whole thing about the surface dwelling monsters. I Prefer more serious story lines etc etc. Having said that, I should have put Dragon ball on that list, I loved Dragon ball.

>Champloo also had a certain style to it as well that Bebop seemed to lack
Champloo is essentially "based" on fast-paced hip-hop and Bebop is based on jazz. The fusion of music in those two series doesn't end with the tracks just playing over fight scenes, it's how they are laid out individually.
That being said, are you trying to subtly tell me you didn't enjoy the Baseball episode because there was no talk of vague, sunflower plot device?
>>581454748
they abuse a lot of emotional topics.
bullying in school
pet dies
being poor / homeless
death of a friend/relative
rape
freedom vs imprisonment
If you can relate to the emotional stuff you will probably like it, if you can see through that stuff it can be boring.
>>581455015
Funny, the violence is not what drew me in. I really empathized with Lucy. I did not have many friends as a child, and life just kept kicking her in the face. The warehouse scene is the one that really got to me though.
>and watch dat Redline.
>>581454978
You literally stopped right when it was about to get a bit more serious. The show is extremely goofy for the first 8 episodes then it tones back a bit. If you have nothing else to watch I would recommend finishing it.
>>581453950
Dude, Guin Saga was surprisingly legit. I started it one day when I was bored because I wanted to know why the fuck he had a leopard head. Turned out to be pretty interesting. The latter half of the series was very politically driven in an almost Game of Thrones-like manner that made it pretty awesome. Not one of the best things ever but worth a watch if you like anime and politically focused plot lines.
>>581455263
Oddly enough, the baseball episode was my favorite. The Sousa piece as the Americans pulled into the harbor was perfect. I love me some jazz. I play trumpet, and The Seatbelts have their own station in my Pandora. I am sure that I will finish Bebop some day, but it lost me halfway through. It isn't that I didn't enjoy it, but it didn't grab me the same way. Maybe it is because I watched the dub.

>>581454893
Well the Nature of champloo is a lot more episodic then Bebop you have the first episode in which fuu hires the guys and then the last 2 or 3 which actually focus around the samurai who smells like sunflowers. everything else is just episodic they just say sometimes at the end of an episode that fuu is looking for the sunflower dude just to remind you that they have a goal but honestly thats not better then ash saying he wants to be pokemon master one day.
Bebop had 3 plot-episode blocks inbetween the "episodic" ones which where each 2-4 episodes long. They didnt brag about the goal because there was none the goal happened before the characters just wanted to clean up their past. And the episodic episodes did a great job on presenting the characters and their way of acting while the plot episodes (together with one or two flashback episodes) showed their motivation. Bebop is actually less episodic, still episodic, but less. Samurai champloo just does a cheap trick to disguise it.
The "style" you were talking about is the musical theme both shows hold which just implies you prefer Hip-Hop, Rap, and Break over Jazz, Rock and Blues.

Fuck legality. Buy a VPN and torrent anime. Consider the VPN cost your subscription fee. It'll probably be cheaper than Netflix.
1. Knights of Sidonia
2. FMA:B
3. SAO- yes the ending was shitty, but the feels it stirred in me after having a couple long distance relationships were intense
4. Rosario Vampire- good for very different reasons, mainly cause the protagonist was an underpowered wimp, surrounded by god-tier powerhouses that wanted his dick
5. An Irregular at Magic High School- I absolutely love this anime, also that's it's fairly new, and the only reason I don't place it higher is cause I just finished watching it, and don't want to be skewed. pic related
Reccomendations: Definitely check out An Irregular at Magic High School, and Knights of Sidonia. Both attempt to follow the laws of physics fairly rigidly within their universes, which is pretty rare.

I reccomend Hellsing Ultimate or Trigun first. Ghost in the Shell is a solid movie

Ghost in the Shell is a whole ordeal though, right? TV & Movies? I can't figure out where to start-finish it.

Nichijou is all else i would recommend. Even that is kinda touch and go with some of its jokes.
Though it has some of the most beautiful animation ive seen.

Nichijou
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
Arakawa Under the Bridge
Kill Me Baby
Plastic Nee-san
Seitokai Yakuindomo
Upotte I guess?
I recently got into anime a little bit and I loved Ergo Proxy, Samurai Champloo, and Death Note. What do you guys recommend me to watch next?
He-man is interesting.
It's about a white supremacist who's into bondage and most episode's attacks a facialy disfigured black man with his weapon that massively increases in size when he gets aroused.
HeMan does this for great justice and sexy fun times.

It depends. If you want action, go for the movies first. If you want political intrigue and more world building, go with Stand Alone Complex. Both are fantastic. Arise is pretty good too.
