>>576028196 In my religion we worship the god shit, im sure you have seen shit as you defecate daily. Now that you know my god exists you shall worship shit. Start by pooping in your hands and anointing your face
>>576028196 Go fuck yourself nobody really wants you to join their religion, they only want you to join so they can get enough brownie points to be allowed into heaven. You don't want to believe in god? Fine. Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody literally gives a single fuck about you; whether you end up in heaven or hell, we're all just in it for ourselves. But if you don't feel that's right, if you don't feel like that's the way shit should go down, then you should probably look into jesus.
You're an obvious troll, so my natural disposition towards you is an infernal hatred, so you should burn in hell. But as long as you do whatever the fuck makes you happy, and you help out others a little bit along the way, it doesn't matter if you become a christian or a catholic; denomination doesn't fucking matter. In the end, it's between you and god, and if your shit is right with him, you're all right with me.
>>576029349 Nope over billions of years chemical reactions in pools of water formed proteins, and over yet more time (we're dealing with a LOT of time) these proteins formed single celled, basic-ass life. Then over yet more time, this basic ass life mutated into retard babies that turned out to be better so they worked out more and process repeats
>>576028196 Man aspires to be like God. As long as humans exist, humans will progress towards being just like God. God is a statistical certainty. Of course, if we go extinct, then who will be around to tell me I was wrong?
>>576030028 Are you my douche of a step dad? Literally nobody cares about her? I don't care if she is a troll, I do care about others going to heaven. Whether or not you are a Christian, I hope for others to go to heaven. I can't imagine endless torture of the soul, and I wouldn't wish it upon anybody. Just because you're a heartless fuck doesn't mean that everybody else is.
>>576028196 Fuck OP, you weren't brought up form a young age being brain washed with out ideals that we pass as the truth because of a book written by a bunch of people which apparently is the only way our omnipotent being can communicate with us, and only so many of thousands of years ago.
Fuck I guess it's too late for you to accept our absolutely true religion.
>>576028196 Prove is impossible, but I trust that your logic suits you. Before all of this "stuff" there had to be a single point of being. This single point, called the "Source" by some and "the God" by others, is the first cause of all things and rightly deserves the title "God." Now, the first cause does not have to be a conscious entity - it could simple be a function or a force; nothing says that the God must be supernatural or aware of itself. However, we have consciousness and this consciousness must also have an origin. One may assume then that the God is the first conscious expression of the universe, and everything that has consciousness, has it because the God had it first. But this is peculation, though we can reason at that there is some first cause we can call "God."
If what Religiousfags believe is true, he is omnipotent. He can quite literally do ANYTHING.
If he wants us all to believe in him and worship him, why is he so averse to showing that he actually exists?
If he is all powerful, and wants people to have "faith" in him, why the fuck doesn't he just MAKE them have faith? Why would an all-knowing, all-powerful, loving creator allow people to doubt his his existence, do nothing to prove his existence, and then punish them with eternal hellfire for not believing in him?
The whole point of religion is comfort. It can be argued that the only objective goal of the human race is to be "comfortable", which covers a broad spectrum of things. Religion is comforting. Religion is part of being human. Talking to god brings comfort to people. It doesn't matter if God exists or not. The idea of god is real because we believe in it and thats enough to bring us comfort.
Atheism has NO benefits. There's nothing to gain from atheism except maybe the feeling of being rebellious? or maybe you don't like religious people so just the fact that youre different makes you feel comfortable?
>>576028196 Simple, the fact you are not showing your tits. You are assuming that is wrong. Wrong feelings are bad, pagans believed in showing off their goods. Christians consider that bad. You clearly already showing the signs of a christian.
By showing your tits, will you feel shame as if you did something bad? Or will you feel good and free as they were meant to be?
Prove it to me that you do not follow one of these practices.
>>576033558 none of us can understand how something came from nothing or how it's possible that something has always existed. it's likely that our perception of time prevents us from understanding our very existence
>>576033832 Atheism itself has no benefits, you are right. However, most people that identify as atheists often developed their moral standards independent of religion, as well as finding comfort in having pure free will.
>>576033832 I think Atheism has way more comfort. You do not have to contemplate about right or wrong, just about utilitarity.
As I already stated, read Matthe chapter 27. If Jesus did not prove his existence being the son of God in the face of death, letting us the choice to follow him or not btw, he will not prove himself in front of you as well.
>>576034202 Buddah was a "real" person. (Or more likely an idea) that participated in fasting and meditation to reach a state of mental enlightenment. He was created just as any other man was. Through the ethereal, intangible, power of the universe.
>>576028196 check out some quantum mechanics, biology, mathmatics.
for real though, understanding how things work and come together from the practice of science throughout this past century gives alot of clues that it isnt impossible for some sort of god to exist or some design.
For instance: a cell is a very very complex organism and when a group of alot of cells come together to form a brain of a complex organism. everything is made up of atoms that work a certain way than others and form material.
Its obvious in the discoveries from the practice of science that everything isn't a coincidence and doesn't come randomly. Things have to work a certain way.
You gotta take out your christian views of a god like figure and focus on the shit right in front of you to understand there are patterns and laws in this plane of existence.
thats the problem with atheism: they think God in a mythical term, some being that only does good and miracles and shit.
>>576028196 >>576028196 Verily verily I say unto you, to walk in heaven with the one true God you must bow down before me and grip the rod of truth. Take the holy sacrament deep into one self, and receive my blessing unto ones face. Then you will know I am the one true god.
>>576034813 yet nothing created him, besides the state of mind gave him the title.
Can there be no other buddah? None before him? None after? What if his enlightenment was wrong? What if he did not have all the answers as he did not understand the world as well as it's people that resided it?
Don't you just look at life itself and wonder about it? My parents are catholic but we rarely went to church and we don't anymore (yeah...) and I became an atheist (I don't think it correlated to not going to church, but that could be the case). At first the catholic religion didn't make much sense to me, or religion in general. It talked about all this magic stuff, there was no solid evidence of it and it was made a really long time ago. On top of that there are several other different religions, how do you know the catholic one is the right one? I'm not gonna lie after I considered myself an atheist I did a bunch of edgy satanic teen shit. Then I started thinking. It did make sense that there actually is a God, maybe even the devil as well, but not the catholic kind. I then started forming my own concept of God. I believe he created the world as a test. I also believe in science and that the universe was created by a big bang, but I think God was behind that and all science. Also, it's just that the thought of people having willpower and having the ability to do the right and wrong things interests me. Feel free to discuss this with me... I have a lot on my mind about this so questions, questions, questions if you want
The gain from atheism is the feeling of being right. If that's not your thing, then go ahead. Believe in something that doesn't exist because it gives you comfort. I would much rather be uncomfortable than complacent.
>>576032465 A miracle along the lines of the miracles in the Bible would be fine - he did them before, why not now. Someone can part the Red Sea, or turn the Nile into frogs, or something. For a God who liked magic tricks, he sure doesn't do many these days.
This. Atheists seem to only ever attack the most obviously fabricated and mythological aspects of any religion. "muh invisible sky farie/flying spaghetti monster". "muh walking on water". "bad things happen in the world so god mustn't exist".
God IS science and science IS God. I'm glad to see another anon out there who has it figured out
>>576029705 A being on another level creating us is far more plausible than "there was nothing then everything." We as humans are getting very close to creating life ourselves, what makes it so hard to think that beings more advanced made us?
Prior to the year 2000, there did not exist a single human capable of lifting a gamecube controller up over their head. After the invention of the gamecube, nearly every human on earth could easily lift up a gamecube controller. Gamecube made us stronger, therefore gamecube is god.
Arbitrary. It is possible to attain the same state of enlightenment as the buddha with the proper insight. And as for weather or not you believe in it, that is entirely up to you. Thats why its a religion. I personally do not believe in Buddhism. But the point was that it is not centered around the idea of omnipotent figures like most religions. Its simply a means of attaining inner peace.
>>576033625 Also he's all knowing so he knew when he created man that we would not believe him, after which he told us that we should believe in him. Knowing that we would not believe he also decided that should we not believe (as we will not, he knew that) we would go to hell to suffer eternally. Also he made adam and eve knowing that they would eat the fruit which he put there and killed his own son to set right the sin he basically created. What the fuck kind of sense does any of this make christianity would be fucking retarded even if there was a god.
>>576037026 You're right. This is definitely bait but I got something for ya'll to think about. I'm a very religious man, so much so I joined the clergy of my religion. That being said I give two shits about religion you are or aren't. I have friends that are Atheist, Christian, Satanist, Buddhists, Wiccan, Pagan, and a little of everything ele. Instead of worrying about what religion someone is or isn't just worry about whether or not you yourself are happy and a good person.
I appreciate your enthusiam in my point of view anon but i dont want you to think Science is God. Science is a practice that has developed overtime. With the invention of some tools and the practice of science, there have been discoveries made and even more questions left unanswered as time progresses. The shit that has been discovered in the Quantum Mechanics and Biology field would make someone really think about everyday- taken-for-granted things on some LSD next level shit.
Seriously, read some wikipedia shit on atoms and cells and other shit then take a look at how things are kept in existence in front of your very eyes. keep that thought pattern everyday and take it everywhere you go. You'll trip the fuck out.
The way your ear works or moving your hand did not come from coincidence or random shit.
We all share one thing, we're all born on this rock, floating around a star. Yes, a fucking star in a vast universe and none of us has the slightest fucking clue as to WHY.
Why the fuck are we here? What in the fuck is going on? One time I was tripping so hard with my friends on LSD and we all realized that we are basically the universe having a conversation with itself, but we're so fucking delusional, all of us are delusional as fuck and we can't see the truth of what is right in front of us.
>implying the conversation hasn't reached it's end >implying it isn't just arguing intuition now >implying women give value in society >implying the thread won't be big b/c of people viewing competition in the world as a projection of proof of worthiness to mate
>>576038916 That's not what makes him less real, but that's what makes believing in him without evidence fucking stupid. If there was a god like this, people would not like him. Not only do christians love this asshole of a god, they believe he's real without ever thinking about how unlikely it is. Personally find it likely that there's some kind of god, not a person but a rule of some kind that can exist without dimensions, something outside of time and space. But to think that there is a god that handles infinite amounts of information without a physical form, and at the same time interacts with the physical world, is retarded.
>>576039904 I absolutely agree with the idea that believing in something for which there is no evidence and which disagrees with your own sense of reason is at best, pointless, if not foolish. Any rational and intelligent person would agree with that. However, you can imagine there have been many, many rational and intelligent people in the history of humanity who have believed in God, and many who have specifically believed in the Judeo-Christian God. Many of those people have even written down their reasoning. So, then the only possibility is that many, many people have believed that there is evidence of God, and many, many people have believed that there is evidence of the Judeo-Christian God.
1st reason, look around you something would've created this world don't you think? 2nd reason how do you think our race has gotten so far, it's because god blessed us with our human awareness and thought and this separates us from animals
>>576041171 Reasoning isn't proof of anything, you can't prove things in philosophy. Sure, it's fun to think about "what if there is a god", but there just isn't any actual evidence that would support the existance god as he is described in the bible, or any other religious scripture. I think a personal god is near impossible, and believing in any large religion is idiotic, no matter how intelligent you may be otherwise.
>>576042662 Of course. I can't offer proof. No one can. But proof is not the same as evidence. And there is at the very least what others claim to be evidence. There are the Gospel accounts of the miracles, teachings, and resurrection of Christ, for example. It's evidence, not proof. And you may disregard the evidence, but in the same way, that doesn't make the evidence any less real.
>>576042481 >>576036056 the Bible isn't meant to be taken literally but is used for it's symbolic and moral messages you can believe in god and evolution ya know the Bible doesn't quite offer physical evidence for god but what i does have is how you can become closer with god. also for all this bible talk here's some tits
>>576044001 See that's the thing, everything we know about the christian god is from thousands of years ago. There is nothing to point out that he exists in the modern world, we only have stories. We have stories of Thor too, but for some reason people would call me an idiot for believing that.
Christianity is shit. Judaism is shit. Islam is pure shit. hinduism is wtf shit. Confucianism is a damn mystery. Buddhism has no god but a mentor for inner peace and reincarnation sounds interesting than going into one plane after death eternally. All else fails, stick to being an atheist....
>>576037608 *sigh* If you want to know the truth, it's that every religion is wright and wrong or neither. As a Jewish born male, shits weird. Judaism: To become Jewish, your mother must be Jewish, if your father is or is not, the matter is small, your mother decides your race. Interestingly enough, we have lots of celebrations etc. That's now. For anyone who actually TRULY cares, majority of religions have been and still are currently being used as a way to control people. History proves it and actions in today's age prove it. The fact of the matter is, as of yet there is no 100% definite proof. If there was, people wouldn't care as much, we'd have our answer and many people would.... well the reactions would vary but all in all decisions would be made more easily. From a human stand point, should there exist a god, we will flock to him/her/it/x Should there not, we wont really care and the matter would most likely drop. In the end, whatever saves our butts is what we will probably go with, hence the whole control through religious devices thing.
>>576044740 Again, you're coming from the perspective that the evidence for the Christian God is comparable to the evidence that Thor (or the Flying Spaghetti Monster) is God. I would say the evidence is (obviously) much more compelling for the Christian God. For the Christian God, you only have to weigh the evidence for one question - was Jesus of Nazareth really resurrected from death? If you don't find the evidence compelling for that historical event, then you can disregard Christianity.
