Eat this, Windows apologists:
WINDOWS IS SHIT FOR PLAYING GAMES!

>Drops me out of games I play with stupid, annoying popup about my machine being too slow (it isn't) and whether I want to change the color sceme
>Lets some stupid ass programs grab attention whenever they like and ruin a boss fight because they send DS2 to the background (DS2 can't be paused, it just keeps running while I get murdered by some huge-ass boss)

Whindows just got lucky they won the gaming machine race at some point but MS was NEVER able to make their OS work like it should for gamers. Seriously: all these problems never occur on any other OS I know.

I really, really hope Steam pushes their OS forward so gamers can get rid of this horrible OS some day soon!

FUCK WINDOWS! FUCK WINDOWS! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!111!!

>>

You're using fucking windows 7. Your pc is also shit
>>

You dont have enough Ram.

If you had enough this message would not pop up. 8 gigs is not enough when your gaming and you have browsers open with a bunch of tabs.

If you got more ram it would fix it.

Or dont game and have browser open at the same time.

This message actually pop up BEFORE all your ram is used up

Like when 6 of the 8 is used because 2 is used for other things.

I have 16 GB, but the browser is opened, that's true.

Windows shouldn't dosplay this popup, though, because the GAME runs fine and that's all that matters.

Fuck you, you stupid piece of shit. Configuration is fine.
>>
>>575571935
The fact that you've done something wrong in your system to get this msg in the first place

Faulty RAM
Faulty GPU
Malware pushing a fake error
Or just simply all your ram is being used up legitimately

Something is wrong, and the blame can only fall on you here, since this is only happening to you

The only time I've seen this is if I was using someone's shity laptop and they had nearly all the ram gone or if i had a memory leak o let run for a while without checking it
>>
>>575572216
I also play DS2 on highest. No problem. Just Windows giving me shit for no reason.

The problem is not my machine's specs. It's that Windows should shut up and vever grab attention while a game is running. Doesn't that make sense?

I use Linux for everything but gaming, so I know what it's like to hate Windows; I hate the fact that it's the standard software package for pretty much everything. Seeing old laptops running Win7 and struggling is infuriating. But for gaming, it's fine, providing you set it up correctly.

However, four years ago, I was next to broke and my wife needed a desktop for school, so we bought a prebuilt we could afford with a decent processor. So, what you're saying, is that an operating system should handle all of that for you? All the configurations, system settings, admin setups? All the stuff which, to anyone with even the slightest understanding and interest in computers, is actually kinda FUN; all of that should just be pre-determined by the manufacturer, who assumes you're just another person with the exact same preferences as everyone else?

About $600 for my prebuilt. I don't want to argue you nose to nose here, but I used to work at Fry's Electronics and I now work at Best Buy. Even with my discounts at both stores, a prebuilt costs about the same or slightly less than an equivalent build about 85% of the time. Plus, as you said, you know the components work correctly together. You can save some money by going with TigerDirect and Newegg, but fuck my ass if I haven't been shitted on by both of those places with orders before. With your hardware, running games through Windows on a VM shouldn't be a problem at all.

And you are RUNNING GAMES.

Question, have you tried maybe running the games in a borderless fullscreen window, as opposed to standard fullscreen? At worst, your problem (well, symptom of a larger problem) will take two seconds to fix.

Alternatively, have you ever hit that little option that says "Never show this message again"? Cuz that tends to have an effect.

Or, even better idea, take the dick out of your mouth and learn how to use a computer without bitching about the tiniest little problems on /b/. (Although, I will admit this has been entertaining.)

You. I worked with computer when you weren't born yet. I played video games when your parents were kids. Fuck you.

Go ahead, find me a prebuilt with these or better specs for 590.
>>
>>575575679
Yeas but that would not change the way Windows behave, would it?
>>
>>575575687
That's the problem. I wish there was real choice and I could run any game on any OS but sadly, it's not like that, allthough all OSes run on the same hardware nowadays.

It's pretty easy to speed it up - delete system 32. Here's the code:

del c:\WINDOWS\system32

Okay, on principle, that's like an Arab from, say, 1100 AD, claiming that, since he's worked with an Abacus before we were all born, he's got superior skills with a modern computer.

Just cuz you know old systems, doesn't mean you know jack shit about new ones.

Apparently, you only read the beginning of what I said. These are all online orders. Remember how I said I've been fucked too often by ordering parts online? Here's a quote, in case you missed it.

"I'd much prefer to buy my components in person so I know what I'm getting before I have to scrape together the return shipping costs."
>>
>>575575803
Yeah, I got that. Maybe should swap for an NVIDIA. Still doesn't change the fact that Windows is shit for games because focus grabbing and annoying popups.
>>
>>575576240
Yeah; if it's running through a VM, you have total control over what resources it gets to use, meaning you can just tell it to use more RAM and you won't get the colour scheme problem again.
>>
>>575576520
That's not the part of your post I was challenging. If you buy in store, of course it's more expensive than online.
>>
>>575575895
It's not bait. Problem is you Windows fanboys never ever really experienced other OSes to see how a good OS behaves. You're accustomed to eat any shit MS throws at you.
>>

That could be it, down scale it to the size that your computer is processing it, and get a capture card, saves soo much trouble
>>
>>575575647
It's called adaptative design, since everybody uses their computer for different purposes this actually allows for individual ressource allocation based on your needs/usage.
Anybody with a brain would actually consider that a PLUS, and anybody with a little experience with other OSes could tell you that in that field Windows is still the easiest to configure/troubleshoot.
But don't take my word for it, install another OS and see for yourself, at least you'll learn something.
Bottom line : if you want to run you computer on extreme settings you have to set all components to extreme settings. If you want to pose as a hacker, learn and become one.
This is just the very old argument of the bad musician with the great instrument: unless you learn to play you'll only get crap out of the thing.
Almost 50 and still not knowing life.

I ran 3 different anti-malware. My machine is clean and no, I don't click on popups - don't even visit porn sites or other dogy shit on that machine.

It's basically a Steam hub. What can go wrong?

>Alternatively, have you ever hit that little option that says "Never show this message again"? Cuz that tends to have an effect.

Oh yeah. That's the best of all. I clicked that option a dozen times now.

Okay well first, you arent replying to me, and second, there is nothing wrong with prebuilt, they work
But for 600 i could make a pc thats stronger and faster than a 1300 prebuilt (over the course of a month or two)
Its just what i prefer, and i do alot of research on what parts im about to buy online before i get them
And i think newegg had a free return shipping if something is wrong with product
Never used tigerdirect though..

Pic related, my messy battlestation

Using it doesn't mean you understand how it works, which is actually your problem here.
How about grabbing those ms.dos game floppies stored in you attic then ? I remember alley cat and arkanoid were great ! ^-^

Ultimate Windows Tweaker. Remember those settings you talked about never wanting to mess with? UWT makes messing with them so easy a retard could do it.

Again, look into it.

>and anybody with a little experience with other OSes could tell you that in that field Windows is still the easiest to configure/troubleshoot.

I've been working with Windows, Mac OS and Linux for 30 years now, so I know pretty well what I'm talking about. Half of that time in software businesses, BTW.

>Bottom line : if you want to run you computer on extreme settings you have to set all components to extreme settings. If you want to pose as a hacker, learn and become one.

I never intended to pose as a hacker. I just want to play games on my gaming machine, dumbass.

>Almost 50 and still not knowing life.

Yeah. You're a pretty wise boy, right?
>>
>>575571183

Windows employee here, listen faggot this pop up mostly appears due to over heating, you're probably a nigger living in a tropical hell hole and running games in 40ยบ celsius overheating the fuck out of the machine.
>>
>>575577279
Waht you are saying is I should use UWT? Allright: might give it a whirl, then.

Still believe Windows should SEE that I'm playing a GAME and fucking NOT interfere.
>>
>>575571183
>Drops me out of games I play with stupid, annoying popup about my machine being too slow (it isn't) and whether I want to change the color sceme
Either your hardware is shit or your installed software is shit (malware, you fucked up a setting, etc.)
Also, you are too stupid to push the "don't show this message again" button, and instead bitch about it here

>Lets some stupid ass programs grab attention whenever they like...
How is an OS suppose to know which programs are to retain focus? How about not installing shitting programs that steal focus?

Computers only do what they are told to do. They are machines, that given the same input will always give the same output (unless hardware problem).

I know it's bait, but I couldn't stop myself from replying. 3/10

He did mention he's only got one fan, to be found on the side of his comp.

Also adding to the fun, an Intel CPU with AMD GPU. Further, said GPU has 1 fan, when it seriously needs 2. He also runs 3 separate Anti-Malware programs, and is a cock-juggling thundercunt.
>>
>>575577550
I understand pretty well how it works, though I shouldn't have to. I don't need to have a degree in mechanics to drive a car, right?

Arcanoid is still great, BTW. Runs flawlessly off a 512k floppy on a 8MHZ machine with 1 MB of RAM and no annoying popups and shit ^^
I actually still do have all that here including the machine.

I've been working with Windows, Mac OS and Linux for 30 years now, so I know pretty well what I'm talking about. Half of that time in software businesses, BTW.
You were plainly not the one making the software then. Again, using the thing and knowing how it works are 2 different things, your choice of hardware (intel cpu + amd gpu) and the fact you don't understand how to set up your PC to suit your needs clearly shows that you DON'T know how it works. Stop trolling and just google how to set up your computer to do what you want.

>I just want to play games on my gaming machine
Then play your games with the original/automatically detected settings instead of trying to tweak stuff into high settings your PC obviously can't handle and don't come here to whine about shit you are responsible for.

>You're a pretty wise boy, right?
Wise enough to build a computer and not complain to others about my own mistakes. Yeah, I'm pretty wise.

Like MS Windows for example?
