That's actually basically the opposite of how the term is typically used. Cult classics are movies that DESPITE lacking in technical achievement or box office sales or Academy recognition, are loved by a group of people, and usually very WELL-loved. Good examples include: Boondock Saints, Fifth Element, Evil Dead, Tales from the Crypt, Friday... etc.

When you say "actually good" movies I assume you're meaning the generalization that all hollywood blockbuster movies are shit and therefore the underground, indie, or non-mainstream movies are "actually good", but you'll just have to trust me on this; hollywood does not necessarily only make garbage and only a tiny percentage of non-hollywood movies are any good.

FMJ is fantastic cinema, there's a shit load of them in all of it and if you can only see the "man yelling homosexual slurs" in the first act you're retarded. It has its flaws of course, but its a pretty top notch film.

What I really love about this movie is that they're willing to kill anyone. It keeps it more realistic.

I'm moderately annoyed with The Walking Dead given that Karl isn't dead yet, primarily due to the fact he's just a kid and by the laws of network TV kids don't die. Stake Land solves this problem (not that I'm necessarily saying kids die).

I read the comics, and I watch the show.

I don't want to spoil anything from the comics for the future of the show (in case they decide to use any of it, the show is quite different), but in the comics Carl is alive because he's a fucking badass. Also if you think kids can't die in the series, I'm assuming you're not caught up and don't want to talk about it hahaha. Just stick with it and I recommend the comics.

Yeah haven't watched the last 2 seasons or so. It's on my list. The Governor just lost his eye and Murle got kicked out of town.

Either way, Stake Land has vampires that are in effect the fast-running vampires of 28 Days but that only come out at night. Total chaos and post-apocalyptic, a group of survivors trying to get north to Canada cuz the vamps can't survive in cold, while there's a crazy fucked up religious cult that think the vamps are god's wrath being rained down upon humanity.

It has that indie film feel that makes it so unique without the lack of special effects that you get from small budgets.
