hey /b/ros, what do you do for a living, and how much do you make? I assume most responses will be bullshit, but it should still be interesting.

Start something on the side. If you want big money you're not going to make it working in an office for someone else (unless you're one of the 0.01% who climb to executive level). That's how I did it, spent about 10 years researching ideas then developing my product on the side, saving as much money as I could before going full-time off my savings and selling out 5 years later.

So I start something on the side such as what? I was thinking about learning some coding and making apps on the side.

It's not a living wage. I'm almost 24 and I live at home, solely because I cannot afford not to. I was just looking at affordable housing, and most of them are still going to be a bit more than half a months pay for rent, and that's in dumpy nigger areas. I don't get it.

I can only speak for software ideas, but I ended up just making a "smaller" version of what my previous/first employer made, which was stuff for airline dispatchers. I knew the industry lingo, the functionality they needed, the process we used to sell to them, all that stuff which narrowed down possible competition. If you make a generic iPad app for consumers, you're competing against 200,000 other programmers who can copy you or who might have the same idea. Very few might know how to do what you learned at your employer.

Then remember there are a lot of very profitable and very large and stagnant companies that are under constant pressure to "grow" from their stockholders. They will buy even unprofitable small companies because then they have "grown." My buyer had like 100,000 employees and didn't even care that I wasn't making much, just wanted to add the product to their portfolio.

The buyers will almost certainly have a non-compete clause. Mine was three years. Also if yours is a product company it's hard to re-create the same product without infringing on the intellectual property they bought from you (because of course you knew their confidential information) and I think you'd risk a lawsuit.

Maybe a service company though. But serial entrepreneurship, yea, it's a good way to get filthy rich. Take the millions from your first sale and use it to fund your next company and keep 100% ownership. And on and on.

It's more rational for women to prefer athletic, financially well-off and respectful men. Con-artists and sociopaths have "social skills", but they're horrible people.

I think it's mostly PUA garbage that you need "social dynamics" to get hot women. Suppose time will tell if I am correct or not.

FFS girls aren't economically rational agents trying to maximize their profit by getting a good catch...
You have pretty much the same view about life than said Eliott.

Women aren't some alien creature from Uranus or trophy you earn when you complete your quest or cumulate 50 points of charisma.

I don't know what crap you have been reading and what your experience is with women or human in general but you do not base a healthy relationship on trying to fulfill some checklist of prerequisite.
DO you hang out with your friends because they are rich/popular? Do you spend time with them only because they can improve your opportunities in this world?
nope you do so because you have a good time and fun.

Same goes for women, believe it or not but being an interesting and fun to be around person is the #1 skill to pick up women. Sure good looks, money, fame etc. definitely helps; but women will prefer a funny 6/10 loser to a boring millionaire.
Of course if you are REALLY ugly that's turn off for everybody, but even if girls are harsh in their criticism and scale they actually will settle with something very low on their scale if the "fun" requirement is met.

Ever seen a fat manlet dating a women way out of his league? There you go

i'm legally insane and classified as "Seriously Mentally Ill" with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. this was all rigged by my mother and some weird psychotherapist who i refused to talk to--walking out of the house--and then suddenly the government decides to give me like 20k retroactive and a figure that comes out to a little more than minimum wage but isn't taxed so it's like making 20k a year after taxes for nothing. that psychotherapist died 4 months ago so i'm off the hook for ever having to see him again and i don't have to report or take meds; i'm just "insane" and get free money. it's cool though because i'm a college junior doing very well with 2 associate's and 2 certificates and i'm in the honor society and it's all paid for and i have my own 2 bedroom house, 2 cats, own a 2002 car and everything is paid for and i get a 160/wk allowance. once i get that 100k job in 3 years, i'll lose my SSI benefits and medicare but that'll be fine.

>research the fuck out of your market for months on end
>find investors
>find a solid realtor(preferably a friend who won't ass rape you on commission) or become one yourself
>find contractors for every trade, or start a partnership with a GC
>buy homes on short-sale/default/below nearby comps

Again, it's one hell of a fucking ride, but there is a fuck ton of money to be made.

Where I come from, men who are confident in themselves, athletic, financially well-off and decent looking get the best looking women. Maybe where you are from the popular guys with 'social skills' get all the women.

But that leads me to ask where are you from? Most women do not list social skills on a list of preferred traits. However good looks, money, athleticism, height and intelligence are all listed on most lists. That and confidence.

What other people think of you matters very little compared to how you regard yourself. That's what confidence is. It has nothing to do with your ability to integrate into society. Plenty of 'faggots' and 'autists' as you call them get hot wives or girlfriends.

Sorry man but any idiot can have a girlfriend. It doesn't mean much. ER didnt' date because he was

a) Insane.
b) Batshit insane
c) A malignant narcissist
d) Had unrealistic standards
e) Was a whiny little b*tch

Where I am from women like men that are... Well, let me summarize what my female friends tell me:

-Honest
-Respectful/Loyal
-Financially secure (yeah, they care about money who doesn't?)
-Tall/Athletic
-Good looking
-Reasonably intelligent (usually the smart girls cared about this most)
-Confident in himself

The words popular and social skills never came up. Being able to hold a conversation is important. But having lots of friends will not get you hot women. I promise you that, at least not on its own.

Sorry I probably spend too much time making fun of the roidfags on /fit/

I know of this because of first hand experience. Dated plenty of chicks since junior high and fucked my way through college. But that would be a bit hard to "prove" to you right now. Not that I even care about my e-penor.

Of couse girls are attracted to good looks, and on a lesser scale to money and success. If you are a famous DJ or an holywood actor you can pretty much fuck whoever you want.
But for the regular joe, only good looks is definitely not enough if you are a weird socially inapt autist.
If you can't make conversation, have her laugh and keep her entertained being a millionaire won't help (or if it does she's a gold digger and that's even worse).

Not sayan that you can date Nicole Kidman if you are a ugly stand up comedy actor. Being funny is definitely not enough on its own. But same goes for the other qualities you mention, just being rich won't get you proper relationships, same as just being beuatifu won't bring you the girl of your dream if you just stand there awkwardly and only make comment about how your redneck mum thinks the world should go.

funny overweight > atheist millionaire with fedora

Of course, having "social skills" PLUS being rich and beautiful tremendously increases your chances.

Around here (New Zealand), women go for athleticism first and charm/social skills second. Being physically fit - not ripped, sculpted or tall - just like you actually run and lift once in a while - to attract them, then say some funny/insightful shit, get 'em laughing and go from there.

And be into interesting hobbies - nerd stuff like card or video games will instantly turn off a NZ woman.

>>560860437

Correct. If you don't have friends/lovers, people instantly wonder what's wrong with you. Popularity shows you're likable and not a creepy weirdo.

>>560860457

Prove there is a correlation between popularity and the attractiveness to women. Seriously that's all PUA bullshit meant to sell books to pathetic fat men on the net, boys.

The vast majority of women prefer financially well-off, confident, tall, athletic and good looking men. You need to improve yourself if you want the best women out there. Lie to yourselves and say "But I'm a good guy" or "But I'm funny" or "People like me". It might all be true, but it's irrelevant for getting the best tail out there.
>>
>>560860123
i disagree, they are dependent factors. and i think most people date like-minded people. yeah a girl can date a guy to latch onto him for his wealth and kindness, but on the other hand a girl could date a guy who is a hard working low payed person as she is.

Confident men don't need friends or popularity, because they don't give a sh*t what anyone thinks about them. Popularity and social skills do not always go hand-in-hand with confidence in yourself. Women are attracted to confidence.

I know plenty of guys that are the life of the party, and they are usually not that lucky with women.
>>
>>560860123

A lot of hotter girls have something going on though in their lives, like a couple of rec sports, playing at local jams and concerts, or just going out a lot to local events or something extra curricular and social. I only know one cute gamer girl who has little motivation and just plays CoD and Animu shit with her other friends / bf

>They're independant factors

How a women looks doesen't seem to have a hell of a lot of correlation with who they are as a person. I've seen a lot of ugly bishes have horrible personalities and some that I've clicked with, same with 9's. In fact my last gf was probably an 8 - 9 and we had a wonderful 2 years together

I am a freelance Video Game Designer Consultant. Last year I NET'd (net salary after tax for your plebs) around $1.1 USD million.

I am hired by the top video game companies for my ideas on how to make games better. You have definitely played some of my ideas.

The thing is "leagues" aren't determined by how many Facebook friends or how popular you're perceived. I have a lesson for you, kid. And I hope you're listening.

The world doesn't care about me. It doesn't care about you either. It was here long before us, and it'll be here after we're dust blowing in the breeze. The key to confidence and communication is realizing that people don't give a sh*t about you, they care about themselves and their interests. You can carry on a conversation with 90% of women, hot or not, by talking about them and what they are interested in. And by simply not criticizing or condemning anyone. Women are attracted to interested, positive men. Helps if you have the height/body/money, obviously.

90% of the crap out there for PUA is worthless garbage. Anyone that thinks they can get "any woman" is an egotistical douche. I'm a virgin, but that's mostly been by choice. Haven't found the right woman yet.

Sure I play D&D and shit, but I work out a lot too and play sports. Women like confident, athletic men. Way more than they like a guy that can crack a good joke, because in the end women want what men want and that's to f*** and have an easy life.

Investors can be found online. Alternatively, you can speak with anyone you know in real estate to see if they know any. Or worst case, go to a few real estate offices around town and ask the receptionist if you could discuss investment properties with any of the realtors or of she knows anyone you can contact.

The two most difficult parts of doing this are finding an investor who won't fuck you in the ass with his terms, and finding contractors who will show up to do the work in a timely manner and do the work properly.

Investors won't buy the houses themselves and fix them up because it is not worth their time. If they can afford to give someone a 100-500k investment, they don't want to do the shitty legwork that you will do. They just want to profit off of it.

Unemployed for the last 4 years, not likely to ever get in to the field again. Boring as fuck, and unless you're the type who yearns for a corner office and underlings, there aren't many other avenues for people like me who like the technical aspects of the job but not the meetings and shit.

Currently, I make $0 per month

You are being ass-raped and your boss is laughing at you. $110K is the minimum salary in DC/NoVa for even a programmer from India who can't get anything to compile. You either have a criminal record or there is something else going on, because no scientific programmer there makes that little.

Kinda yeah

Think about it this way, you might get to know a lot of people, but the ones that you chill out with all the time are going to be a much smaller group.

Things have to be a two way street, If a girl keeps asking for favors or shys away from hanging out often, I just say fuck it after a bit - she made that call after I reached out a couple of times (and verified shes wasn't just too shy or w/e)

I've actively asked about 15 ish girls out, none actually panned out for more than a week for various reasons, but the 3 girls I've dated fell into place because we were good for each other

congrats on your marriage anon
