2) This scenario takes place on an infinite plane with gravity equal to earth as well as resources (earth's atmosphere) to sustain both groups indefinitely.

The would be some casualties due to being eaten alive by ants, but the remaining marines could create ant-proof suits from the uniforms of fallen soldiers. At that point the marines would be reduced to 40-50% of their original numbers. It would no be impossible for the marines to live off of eating nothing but ants for three months, including siphoning water from the ants' bodies to drink. We're dealing with the equivalent of a universe of ants spread across a plane, so I don't think food resources for the marines would be scarce. It would still be the case that many would die of prolonged dehydration.
The ants would also be eating each other, but even if the population were reduced to a tiny fraction of a percent of what it was, this would not even be observable by the marines.
Basically, 90 days of eating ants and drinking squished ants will lead to victory for the marines but with heavy losses.
