Gorath sends 4 dwarves to scout the area, whilst the rest of the clan starts to farm, the farm will take 4 turns to produce food. The scouts report that to the North the mountain has many caves where strange sounds can be hears some volcano-like,some not. To the South lies the edge of a great forest. To the West barren hills stretch for miles and to the East there is a river and what looks like a dirt road.

For a long-term plan of action, I propose we keep our current camp light, perhaps gear it towards food production while moving gradually to the volcano and build a city there, if possible. Underground locations are easier to defend than open campgrounds, and with our small size we can leave construction smaller to make it pretty much impossible for anyone to overtake us.

Whilst scouts enter the cave system it seems to be very large some routes become too hot to enter but one leads into a larger cavern. Two males take it in turns to man the tower throughout the day and night, they report seeing campfires deep in the forest and at times far in the East.

Gorath instructs the women to try and learn magic. Most of the women show no potential and return to the farms. Two women manage to move a little dirt and another even moves a few rocks a little. The food is ready for harvest and this will last another turn.

The rest of the males start to mine the ore we now have 1/4 tonne of ore but insufficient tech/facilities for forging ect.

At the end of the day there is a mass breeding session with 5 pregnancies, the exhaustion (and their natural greed) causes the Dwarfs to consume 2x food.

Wogri and the other two meditate on earth magic, Wogri is trying hard to feel the natural energy of the earth so she can differentiate between different elements.

The men continue to train in the art of war. The tw potential warriors have reached a high prficiency in melee, you can now form a warrior class (pick a name). 1 more dwarf now has the potential to become a warrior. The two watchmen have begun to train using slingshots.
There was no time for building/weaponary research.

Wogri senses that the hills to the West are rich in metal but they are too far away for her to sense what metals. She locates various iron seams in the volcano which the miner has marked on a basic map. Her disciples meditate.

Gorath and the two Iron Shields train two more warriors. The two watchmen are also proficient in slingshot use now.

The miner and two men have now worked out basic iron working which means the forge will be easier to build.

The rest of the men focus on the forge (50%) whilst the women farm. The growth in population pputs a little more strain on the food strores.

As the Orcs approach an the 4 Iron Shields and Gorath followed by the other men form a formidable formation. Wogri and her disciples prepares themselves to guide the spears to victory.

The Orcs approach with bronze tipped spears and clubs. They drop their weapons when they see a hail of Dwarvish spears and shout "Wait!" in the common tongue. Gorath puts a hand in the air and Wogri deflects the spears saving the Orcs.

A leader steps forward from the Orcs " we have an offer you for" he barks in broken common tongue. His tribe is fighting an Elven City state to the South and are in desperate need of iron and allies.

Meanwhile the harvest continues and the farms have been expanded more (40%). The builder finished the forge whilst the others were away. One woman is pregnant.
