for finding stenographic images within images you need:
>either specialized stenographic software
>or an image, an editing software with different layer filters such as gimp and an image negative
>or extreme knowledge (there's around 259000 bytes of information in your picture, there are literally endless ways of hiding information in your picture)

Are you trying to encode or decode? If you're trying to encode, make sure the picture you're using to encode with is BIGGER than the message. If it's low-res you can still add to the resolution.

to start with.

First, open the jar.
On the right there are modules- open the 'tools' and the 'decoders' folders.

Drag 'input', 'LSB.D' and 'output' into the workplace. LSB.D is the algorithm to decode the LSB cipher.

Using right-click on 'Input', select 'connect' and click in LSB.D. Then right-click on LSB.D, select 'connect', and click 'output'.

Right click on "Input" and select "Select input". Choose the desired file to be decoded.

Press the green arrow when completed.

Just take a guess on the type of file and add the extension at the end of the name.
>>
>>550895101
Yeah, there are two more questions. Are you trying to encode or decode? It looks like decode.
1) Are you sure the file you're trying to decode actually has a message?
2) Right click on LSB.D and select 'parameters'. What are startbit and endbit set to? If it's that picture of Velma they need to be set to 1 and 2, respectively. Otherwise set them both to 0, that's how it's been the rest of the thread.

And if it's this pic:
>>550890870
there is nothing on it.
>>
>>550895216
Because the data is raw. It doesn't say 'hey lookit me i'm a .jpg' that's something you have to add on your own.
>>
>>550895263
Alrigh, thanks dude! The one with velma is giving me trouble.
>>
>>550895840
Because
>>550893215

Right click on the decode module and set startbit and endbit to 1 and 2, respectively. I wanted to see if it would make it look much different.
I should apologize for that, setting startbit and endbit to 0 was the norm for the ENTIRE thread.
>>

How do I decode gauss blurred images?
Only get error messages when I try

wtf does this mean
>>
>>550900075
I guess it's the code for the gif?
>>
>>550900284
>code
>>
>>550900075
Yeah, you have raw data.
Don't open it with notepad. Open it with an image program.
If you can't, the file might have been a bit corrupted.

>>550900069
Hum... There's a gauss blur filter in vsl. Would there be a gauss blur un-filter...? I'll mess with this and see what I can find, do you know there's a message in it?
>>
>>550900561
There is a message in it, start and end bit is 0
All I did was put 10 gauss blur and then lsb.e
>>
>>550899337
Well I'd prefer to know how to use it using VSL as it's probably much simpler
>>
>>550900923
I have like 5 descriptions of how itt but if you really want a video tutorial i can make it eventually

>>550900887
I see. Did you put the blur on before or after encoding?
>>
>>550889143
help with this?
the normal LSB.D decoder isn't working
>>
>>550900069
Well as I add more 'sharpen' filters it goes longer and longer before the error occurs so I'll just keep trying that
>>
>>550901229
Before
>>
>>550901461
It should be. Are you opening the resulting file right? renaming it to .mp3?

>>550901229
shit I'm making it to like 81%
>>
>>550901701
Really? Then decoding it directly without sharpening or anything should work fine... Last on, first off.
>>
>>550902081
My thought exactly
>>
>>550902202
weird as fuck
>>
>>550901229
Alright thanks. I finally got the decoding to work.
>>
>>550902415
It worked as expected with 1 gauss, maybe 10 is to much for the program?
>>
is openstego any good?
>>
>>550902631
That's possible.

>>550902663
Again, I'm new to this.

Skimming the thread and can't find the answer so I might as well badger you guys again.

Figured out how to decode images, but I'm having trouble encoding them. Pic is what I have right now. So I selected an image for input, but how do I choose the image it is going to hide inside? I thought right clicking the display box would be the answer but the only options are "Connect, Show image, and "remove." And selecting output just asks you where you want to save it

>>550903281
I found this through this thread so I have no clue
>>
>>550903521
You have LSB.D, that's the Decoder, you need LSB.E, the Encoder
Also you don't need display
>>
>>550903281
GIMP is most definitely NOT a tool for doing this. At all. Ever.

>>550903521
You need to use the module LSB.E instead of LSB.D. The D is for Decode and the E is for Encode.
Once you do, right click the LSB.E module and select 'message' and choose the message. It doesn't have to be an image- it can be .txt or even an mp3.
>>
>>550903772
Thanks a ton. Think I finally got it

Question. I can hide regular image files but for some reason I get this error when I try to put a .gif in either the input or the LSB.E I get this error
>>
>>550906646
I don't think there's really an agreed-upon method to do .gif files.
You can encode a gif file certainly but you can't use it as the message

It's possible the image you're embedding it in isn't big enough. That's why my MP3 was just 'Dun dun DADAAAA'

Can someone explain what's going on in this thread? Far as i get it you're hiding images within other images, is this in a codey way or are you actually hiding stuff in plain sight? Sorry for being a newfag i guess.

That VSL stuff is for images dude.
That image has a song in it. audio..
install 4chan media player to hear it
>>

Can I embed other things than images using VSL though?
>>
>>550915654
dunno I never messed around with that
back in the day people were hiding entire rar archives in pics, but that's not possible anymore
well, it is, but you can't upload them to 4chan anymore
>>
Almost seems random as to which ones work and which ones I get an error for.

This werks >>550912505

This doesn't >>550878260

Didn't change anything. Just changed the input file
>>
>>550915979
Oh well.

How can I embed any file in an image, other than an image?
>>
>>550916084
>put anything you want in a rar file
>Place the image in c:. Then place the .rar file that you want to hide in the image in the same directory.

>Open up the command line by clicking, start, run, then type cmd, press enter.

>Navigate to the c:\ by typing, `*cd c:*.

>Type the following
>copy /b nameofimage.jpg + nameofrar.rar chooseanewname.jpg

that's it
now when you double click the image it will just open the image.
use winrar to open the rar.

but again, 4chan will detect it
>>
>>550916639
I already know how to make a rarpeg, but how did this guy put music in his image?
