If any of you guys actually bothered to follow the case, you'd know that the forensic evidence supported Zimmerman's story.

Zimmerman claimed that he shot Martin because Martin jumped on top of him and started punching him and because he couldn't get him off he pulled his gun out and shot him as his only sure method of defense.

Like you, I thought that it was bullshit until it was revealed that there were burn marks on Martin's shirt(showing that the gun was right up against the shirt), but the entrance wound in Martin's body and the spread of the bullet showed that the bullet was much farther away.

What does this suggest? The shirt was *hanging* closer to the gun, and the only reason that could be the case is if Martin was in fact on top of Zimmerman.

The case was initially dismissed, but Zimmerman was held on trial because racist black rights advocates(sounds like an oxymoron, but if you've heard the things they said, you'd understand) pushed for Zimmerman to be punished. They viewed it as being White supremacists letting White racists off of the hook(even though Zimmerman is half Hispanic).
