Serious advice to OP: this is because your brain puts food in the "commodity" section, so reaches for it every time you have any other problem (anxiety, stress, sadness, your favorite show is not on TV etc.) and compensates for it with food.

You should start treating food as a treasure that's given to you as a reward for some other activity. Say - working out for 15 minutes is 150 kcal. However much you can work out for the day, that's how much kcal you can eat for the day.

This makes food scarce, as you need to trade it for something else you must do.

Well, you could switch to an all liquid diet.
I've been forced to do so as a medical necessity, and as a happy side effect, I lost 15 lbs within the first three days just from solid waste purge.
Since then I find I have more spring in my step, except for the condition that moved me to liquids in the first place.
So yeah, eat gourmet soups and smoothies, milkshakes.
I like to put milk, honey, jam and peanut butter in a blender and drink the result.
Also hummus can be made to taste like anything, but it won't stay in your system.

That's because you train your taste buds to get used to certain things. If you keep shoveling it down you're gonna acquire the taste sooner or later. I used to love eating kebabs, burgers, pizzas and fries. All of that unhealthy fast food tier shit was delicious to me but since I started making proper meals with spices and seasoning, using fresh high quality meat and not eating fast food my taste buds have adjusted and now they love the taste of fresh healthy food, I actually lose my appetite looking at a pile of greasy processed meat or deep fried potato product. Last time I had my old favourite takeaway it tasted like absolute shit and I felt ill after eating it.

That steak does look pretty fucking delicious but you can keep the kebabs, burgers and fries.

People often make the mistake of thinking that eating fat gives you fat, but it really doesnt work like that. Think of it this way.., if you eat liver for dinner, do you suddenly get a bigger liver? Well the same counts for fat. dietery fat =/= body fat.

Fat on the other hand does have 9 calories per gram while protein and carbs only have 4 so it makes it easy to get too many calories while eating alot of fat.

Rough conclusion, eat many protein, normal amounts of fat, and low carbs

When I got out of my depression, I'd eat not less, but more healthy (fuckload of vegetables and fruit and less junk food and alcohol). Actually I eat less when I'm depressed, but I'm fatter.
I used to do martial arts, but I got me gain muscles and not lose fat. It's still healthy, but your mass of fat around your belly and inyour ass is mostly about what you're eating, almost no regard for quantity or exercise. Fat people have mental problems that provokes disorders in they way of eating. And since our society mostly makes unhealthy food, they grow fat and stay fat.
tldr : you have to improve your way of eating, in terms of quality, no regard about quantity. Also eating real good food is not cheap. Prepare your butt.
