Found a little bird that managed to fly through the gate of my house. I think it's injured. Not flying, barely moving, but alive. What do?
>>
Methinks it's a hummingbird
>>
>>545062436
Euthanize it
Get on with your life
>>
check its wing bones and legs, if they're broken or fractured, reset the bone, find two tongue depressers and use it for a splint, nurture the bird, wait for it to fly around again, release, be proud
>>
>>545062436
Put it out of its misery

Do it faggot
>>
>>545062436
Cum on it, obviously.
>>
make some sugar-water syrup and put it in a bottle cap or some other tiny container and see if it will drink.
>>
yes it's a hummingbird of course. they need to drink a huge amount of nectar in order to survive. look up the recipe for hummingbird nectar online it's just sugar and water. maybe he's just exhausted. if he's truly injured he was probably already dying
>>
>>545062762
Rolling for this
>>
I already put a small cup of sugar water for them to drink to no avail. It just sits there and if I try to force it, it returns to its normal state of sitting position
>>
Cook it up.
Due to hummingbirds constantly eatng sugar, the meat is sweet.
>>
eat it
>>
>>545062896

I'd just put it back outside and let nature run it's course. Not much you can do.
>>
Put it out of its misery, an injured bird can only suffer one fate, and that is starvation. douse it with lighter fluid and burn it up humanely
>>
>>545062896
Looks like he was already dying bro. He might have gotten batted around by a cat or something.

I would suggest just leaving him near where you found him, please don't euthanize him as he may just fly away eventually
>>
>>545062896
Do a webm about it
>>
Little shit's gone to sleep (literally, not dead) and is breathing fine. I think it has a little bump on its head iunno
>>
Moved it into a shoebox with a couple holes and a towel on the floor of it. left the nectar in it in case it wants it.
>>
>>545063365
He might have flown into a window, pretty much all birds do this. Leave some nectar take him out of the bucket because he might not be able to fly straight upwards
>>
Take care of it.
>>
lighter fluid, and blaze it faggot 420
>>
FedEx it to nat geo wild

I fix birds all the time. Get a glass of water and drip from your finger onto it's lil' beak to hydrate him and coat a pinecone in lard and seed and leave it in there. Stick some towel in the bottom and leave it in the dark and see if he pulls through. Chances are he'll be dead by morn but worth a shot.

Last patient is pic related, pulled through and was a nice little buddy.
>>
>>545063365
Those kind of bird can't walk because of natural evolution, their life style make them fly all the time. However they can stand on a stick. Their bones are really fragile so he might have a broken wing.
>>
>>545064114
Aw cute
>>
>>545062436
Kill it with fire?
>>
Doesn't takes a rocket scientist to take care of a bird, just look online how to.
>>
>>545064114

yes, because the hummingbird really wants lard and seed and not delicious sugar syrup.

>>
What seeds/pine cones? I live in a cold, foggy ass city and stuff like this isn't common for me to just go get. Here's its little home atm with a little thing of sugar water
>>
Give it something to drink as said in thread... Then cover the bucket with a blanket so no light will enter, if in shock this will calm him down.
After 1-2 hour go outside to a location where it can fly up easy and remove the blanket if he should fly out now. If he doesn't fly try get him going by gently tapping him.

I don't get them up this way and didn't look at the picture. My mistake.
>>
>>545062436
take to vet
>>
Cum on it
>>
>>545064587
hummingbirds cannot eat anything but nectar

look up the receipe online to make sure oyu have the ratio right, its not just sugar water, its like 1/4 sugar
>>
>>545064768

Oh, I'm not cool at all.

I don't wear that hat out by the by. I'm still on the opposite end of the cool spectrum.
>>
Parents are buttholes and not gonno let me bring it in, just outside, in garage. Vet's aren't close, and the numbers I've tried left me leaving a message, which I didn't bother cuz it took too long to listen through the whole message. Ratio is 4 parts water, 1 part sugar. I may have bs'd the ratio though
>>
>>545064587

I just have buckets of seed lying around. Butter works in place of lard. Don't think lil' bird will eat that if it's a hummingbird though. You got any honey?
>>
>>545065004
Take a shit on it's head, tape reaction
>>
>>545065004
He really looks like he just ran into the gate and is discombobulated. He probably ran straight into it at full speed. They can actually fly 50mph. You may want to hold him in your hand to help keep his body temperature up.
>>
Stop keeping the bird alive so you can watch it writhe in agony. do the humane thing OP set it on fire, and then webm it
>>
>>545065105

>JUSTICE FOR BILLIONS
>>
>>545065182

Hold him on your heart. Usually warms them up and calms them down a bit too. Don't know why...
>>
>>545064607
OP, are you gunna build it a home and take care of it, or do something worth sticking around for? If you're not gunna burn it, cum on it, or kill it, why would you post this stupid shit on /b/?
>>
I have worked with pet birds before and I recommend for a sweet treat to give it chocolate
they just love the taste.
>>
So far I've read that it'll eat tiny insects like fruit flies, stuff to give it some protein and shit. Need to learn more about what it'll eat before I go insect hunting. Much too lazy to webm it (have no clue how to since I've never looked at it LOL)

And I'll take care of it i guess.
>>
light it on fire please
>>
>>545065415

Cool. Any updates just fax us.

How fedorable.

>inb4 hurr durr thats not a fedora
>>
Gdfo if you want live action burn-on-cross like bird jesus stuff. But I may kill it within 5 or so hours if the bird isn't active. I'll check on it every 15 minutes, or every game of hearthstone.
>>
>>545065415

>record it
>cut recording with movie maker or some shitty editor
>j-jam it in a webmconverter

That's it

Will post a new thread onto /an/ ty guy. I'll try warming it up. I think it's cold, and I'll move it into garage. Not sure if the red stuff on its chest is blood or not.
>>
>>545065815

The sugar water is your best bet.
Keep him warm. towels, and maybe a small box inside (like one for Christmas ornaments) so he can hide. also is that red blood? polysporin it. All else fails, he dies but you tried.

rebumping with 3 squirrels I saved.
Wildlife has it's way of showing up on my doorstep

Ignorance is a killer
>>
>>545066670
Why would she bathe it?

I found 1 in my driveway and honestly was going to keep it, then an hour later outside found 2 more so I turned them in.
They were so flea infested though. But so cute .I have videos of them eating corn, and it's just the cutest.
>>
>>545067131

also bump with a non blurry picture.
>>
>>545066240
why your parents wont let you bring it home? are they fucking retarded? its not gonna hurt them.. heartless monsters, yet they probably praise some stupid god
atleast you are a good guy
>>
>>545062436
tie it to a balloon and make it the first flying bird
>>
>>545066670

I think she was just being over nurturing.

I realize it was an accident, but it still frustrates and saddens me.

Their cats were really friendly with it too.
>>
>>545067471

My younger brother accidentally mashed up one of my birds when he was a baby.

Unfortunate because it was healthy other than lost pinions so he'd have been sticking around a while. Already sat on my shoulder and didn't try to flee.
>>
>>545067454
>why your parents wont let you bring it home? are they fucking retarded? its not gonna hurt them.. heartless monsters, yet they probably praise some stupid god

You. I like you. Ya parents assume it has fucking rabies or some shit. I don't necessarily blame them, but in my mind even if it had it, I wouldn't be scared to help it like wtf parents.
>>
>>545066670
gave a bath to a squirrel?
dude you are dating a really stupid bimbo
>>
>>545067709

That's a shame man.

I think it'd be pretty damn neat to have a bird that was socialized enough to just chill

Called 6504887363 --> redirected to 6503408200. (Nearest vet/animal care) time to let the authorities take control.
They're coming in a little while with a delay. Afraid it'll die by the time they get here. I'll go keep it warm.
>>
>>545066670
What's wrong with bathing a squirrel?
>>
>>545068628
Squirrels have a heavy cesium content in their tails (hence why they are so poofy) so if they get submerged they cause a violent exothermic reaction and effectively cook the squirrel alive.
>>
>>545068628

Rodents can pretty easily get hypothermia when wet.
>>
>>545062436
Put it in a blender op
>>
>>545067846
lol mainly only mammals have rabies. every animal that can pass it to the hummingbird would just eat it. and even if this fucking bird somehow managed to get rabies, he cant bite you anyway. im sorry you have to live with them
