It depends on the strain and how large you grow the plant. As you can imagine, a small apple tree would grow fewer apples than a large one. Similarly, a large apple tree would take longer to grow than one that is smaller. It all depends on grower. Off of a 2 foot tall plant, yield is around 28 grams dry or 1 oz. 1 week of veg, 2 months of flower approximately.

If you're growing indoor, you will need HID bulbs. maybe a 400watt or 600watt HPS or MH bulb. Need a carbon filter for smell mitigation. Adequate ventilation, reflective materials, pots, soil, nutrients, and all the fixins for gardening. Read a book dude. It will help you more than my short-winded responses.

I harvest by clipping the buds off the plant and I run them through a rotary clipper I purchased. I then place the buds on drying racks and let dry in cool dark place for 3-5 days or until stems snap when bent. I've had to get rid of them a ton of times...

Home remedies don't work that well (cayenne pepper bombs, soapy water, etc.) unless applied VERY frequently and liberally to underside of leaves.

You need a pressurized sprayer (one with a pump) so you can properly spray under leaves and get even coverage.

I've used safers soap (works for small populations and to slow them down). I've used lady bugs (they stop infestations until they all die). I've also used bug-b-gone which kills them altogether but I only spray actual bug killer when plants are in veg. DO NOT SPRAY INTO FLOWER or the buds will be affected.

Yes Co2 increases bud growth dramatically. you need a way to flood the room to a certain PPM for up to an hour. This would mean turning off fans, ventilation, etc and having a sealed room. If you were doing it in a small area or on small scale this could be alot easier with a baking soda/vinegar drip or excellofizz pucks. Otherwise, its fucking hard to attain a good sized co2 tank (rentals are a bitch) and then you need a $200 regulator and spaghetti hosing. Not worth the fuss IMO unless you're small scale

Yes. It just makes it so all the light hits just the top buds. Makes the canopy huge with buds and you pack the plants on the table so they are end to end CRAMMED on there (hence having so many plants). Then the bottom foliage falls off and the top shit grows monster buds.

Alright OP, bare with me on this one;

Here's what I'm working with: fairly basic nutrient rich potting soil (plenty, for the most part), two large plant pots, fixtures to accomodate two growing bulbs (originally intended for an aquarium) as well as a snake-like posable fixture for regular bulbs, and approximately a 100$ budget.

I also have a nice collection of seeds from eapecially dank strains I bought personally in the past couple months.

Well you need an HID bulb. Best to go with 400 watt HPS. For this you need a ballast. You arent going to get enough lumens out of the bulbs that would fit in the aquarium fixtures. You need to simulate the sun with lights otherwise the buds will grow very sparse and the plants will stretch.

Id say set something up in the closet. Paint the walls matte white and get a cheap ballast and bulb (consuming that budget). I'd also use neutral soil with no nutes added so you can control that aspect. you'll have to skip on the carb filter but you need an oscillating fan to blow over the plants.

It is pretty easy depending on what you go with. A basic sump and drip with clay pellet is easy and cheap. Just need a couple rubbermaid bins. Maybe not worth it though. Depends on what you're into.

You need to germinate seeds first in damp paper towel. After that, yes it's just as easy as planting and waiting.

1-2 plants would need an area of about 3-4 feet high and 4-6 sq/ft of floor space. Yes they need good air circulation.

If you look at tin foil closely enough, it looks like a badly grained wood. Light is absolutely tiny, it is beyond comprehension how small light is. The grooves in the tin foil that make it akin to the wood are massively larger than the light but they still reflect the light like a mirror does; like everything does - absorbing some of the spectrum, returning others.

Now tin foils grooves are tiny, but they will reflect the light when it hits it. The grooves will cause the light to be dispersed back out completly without uniform as it reflects the light back in on its own grooves, back in inconsistent spots. When the grooves cause more light to hit one spot, over an extended period, causes hotspots. The black burns on leaves that come with using poor covering.

At least that's how I learnt it.

Foil creases and is inefficient at reflecting light. It can cause burn spots on the foliage and is all around shitty. Matte white paint (not gloss) is VERY efficient. like 99% efficient. White styrofoam is VERY efficient. Like 99.5% and can be a great insulator to manage heat. White poly plastic is pretty good. Best material is Growing dimpled reflective material. Like Growtek or mylar.

I use a mylar type reflective material but its super expensive. Best to go with plain white styrofoam or matte white paint

Buy feminized seeds. If you need to determine gender just have a look at the sex organs of the plant. Male plants have balls (more or less) which are pollen sacks. Females have pistils (hairs) like you see in your weed (albeit they're white before they dry). You can determine the sex of a plant shortly into flower cycle. The sex organs show up at leaf and branch nodes.

Well if you get potting soil, its already amended with nutes. This type of soil doesn't always drain well and the PH can be off so I dont like it that much. I use HP pro mix or sunshine mix #4. There are other options depending where you live like a coco coir mix.

Basically you buy a 3 part nutrient formula. Most liquid nutrients come with a grow mixture, common mixture, and flower mixture with different nutrient ratios.

Mix at 25% recommended strength. So if it calls for 4ml per liter, use 1 ml per liter. Only fertilize established plants. Dont fertilize seedlings or small clones until they need it.

Add the nutrients directly to the water that you water with.

Here's a pic of my first grow. Growing it in a "spacebucket" in the house. Don't mind the heat spots, was out of the house for a few days and the plant grew into the lights. Just changed the light cycle to 12 hours, so hopefully it will enter the flowering state soon. My question is, do I need to trim some of the leaves for a better yield?

When I wasnt growing it (ie. I was a runner), it went from a grower to a middle man, then from that middle man to another, then to me.

When I first started growing, I sold in bulk to a solid customer of mine from the past. Someone who I set up as a runner for me.

Now I grow so little that I sell it myself. All of my client base is 1oz clients. I dont really mes around too much with quarters and 8ths. So from me to you would be just that. I grow it and sell it to you fresh.

I sell 8ths for $25, quarts for $50, halfs for $80 and oz for $160. or $1600 bulk lb.

If I sell it to someone for $1600/lb they will probably mark it up to $200/oz which is $3200 - Double what I sold it for to them

Well they say that MH is better for veg and HPS is better for flower but if you get a full spectrum bulb, there is no difference. HPS is more efficient and has a wider range of usable light. I use HPS for both with no issues.

I recommend you get a match box (the type wooden matches come in, and peel off the striker strip or use an emery board and glue it inside the box. Place seeds in the box and give it a shake. This will shave down the seed wall and allow water to permeate better. Then you want to soak the seeds in water for 12 hours then place in damp paper towel in a tupperware container and place it on a cable box or something for heat. In 1-5 days, yo should see sprouts. Then place sprouts tap root down in soil approx 1cm deep. Make sure soil is PH neutral and you DO NOT fertilize.

Do this every year. Spring Hike into a pasture in bumfuck. Fire up weedeater and clear out a patch - about 10' radius. Come back later when it looks like rain and hoe it up, toss seeds and hoe in. Stay the fuck away from there. Hike back in mid june and pull out weeds. Check on it now and then - every 3 weeks or so. Pick buds before they seed, Get 1 1/2 to 2 lbs.

You won't be able to produce dence, THC laden buds under a cfl. You need 80,000 lumens+ Small CFL's only put out like 9,000. You can certainly veg under the CFL light though. I'd buy an HPS bulb for flower, however.

Good rule is once the plant is a foot tall and pretty bushy with growth, switch to 12/12. Don't go 6:18. Will just stifle growth.

Basically you can flower a plant at any time. Rule is the plant will roughly double in height once flowered. so if you want a 2ft plant, flower at 1 foot. You want a 1 ft plant, flower at 6 inches (so long as the plant can sustain bud growth).

Yes it is if you plan on using it for personal consumption. If you set up a scrog with 1 plant in a grow tent, you could yield up to a lb dry if done well!

I think the cutoff would be if you can't make a return on investment within 2-3 harvests. So if your setup cost $500, then you would want to get like 3-4 oz. It's a great hobby too!
