yesterday I went just for a chill sesh alone, just to relax. Ollied-manul a little pad and ollied the longest I have so far (I think) but stylishly and high. I also broke the baseplate of my back trucks at the very same spot I broke my last one.

Got a new deck, bad razor tail on the last one.

Program is a little side project from the guys at Welcome.
Deck is rock solid as expected, being crafted by the wizard of wood, Professor Paul Schmitt.

10/10, would buy again.

Did some more photography as well at a brand new skatepark that opened up in September (huge!).
We have ANOTHER huge brand new park opening in a couple weeks as well.

we have a couple of beat-up boards under the stairs at my house but even if I put one foot on it, I freak the fuck out

what's the best way to learn & get over the fear?

helps if you skated before, even a little to be completely honest, but still.

The way to overcome fear is stoke; feel what you want to do, what will make you go "fuck yeah, I pulled that off". Doesn't have to be dangerous, it just has to be you. At the end of the day wear pads if you 're paralysed by fear.

And a beat up board is better than nothing. I stopped skating for 3 weeks because I thought I needed a change of trucks. After 3 weeks of isolation the board looked brand new to me.

Just out of curiosity I asked from one of the guys in the skatepark to do a backside ollie with his board, which is a trick I 'm currently learning. His board was 8.5 with 149 trucks and great grip, mine is 80 with 129s and shit grip.
The board would turn with my body, what a great feeling! I didn't even have to pop them that high and I didn't even toedrag. It felt like cheating. My term with the thin board will prove valuable once I cope biggger trucks.
