What you don't realize is that Baron Corbin is truly one of the most complex characters in recent WWE history.

Literally everybody thought he was winning it both in and out of story.
In real life, everybody knew he was the kinda guy who wins it and uses it to get his first title.
In story, they've been shrieking "BARON CORBIN IS A FUTURE WORLD CHAMPION" on commentary since he debuted.
