When Vince saw that it was getting too good and decided to take two of its top guys (Miz and Deanetty) and their top female heel. Then he threw their title on a Raw jobber which indirectly buried the show by making it seem like Raws trash can prosper on Smackdown.

He basically uses it as a dumping ground for acts that have either been jobbed out to the top tier and are no longer credible on that level (Owens, Zayn) or are way past the point where anyone cares (New Day).
