Vanilla, schmanilla the fact of the matter is Reigns can't draw and while his 100% WWE 'stick him down everyone's throats till they like him' push is able to get Reigns a respectable amount of merch sales and subpar ratings for his segments, a guy like Balor, whos been sidelined for a year and bounced around the lower-midcard having a new feud of the week (and that's without his very much over DEMON gimmick involved in ANY way), manages to still get huge reactions and top 3 company merch sales and generates buzz as soon as he's involved in anything worth talking about in the slightest.

The sad fact is, WWE sucks at creating new stars or using established stars from elsewhere properly. The "face of the company" is someone you can put at the top of the card with an image of that guy from the waist up. In order to be considered a successful face of the company, you need to be able to draw the interest of people who do not typically watch wrestling. You need to draw in the frat crowd by looking like one of the boys turned up to 11. You need to draw in females (the most valuable asset in any spectator sport) by making them want to fuck you based on that image. Basically you need to be a beacon for whatever audience is necessary to make your product socially acceptable.

Daniel Bryan draws neckbeards with no friends to drag into the company's audience. Roman draws middle-aged women that are looking for a real-life parallel for their boring romance novels. CM Punk draws people who HATE fun and come off as bitter. None of the audiences I mentioned can grow viewership faster than they repel viewers.

With that in mind, it is my belief that AJ, Brock, Finn, and Seth are best suited to fill each brand's top face and heel spots, with Finn being the "face of the company."
