I really wish I could have gone to the East Wind series of ops. They seemed really autistic about the kits though.

I wish Cold War era reenactment became common where I live. But no, it's either modern military reenactment or WWII.

Didn't Ace1 Arms make a 16mm short Silencerco. Osprey suppressor replica?

I swear I remember them making 16mm models but it seems like the only type left are 14mm.

You and me both. I guess Cold War era stuff isn't considered that cool outside of a very small minority.
Like WWII stuff is regarded as this big grand thing thanks to decades of the Greatest Generation rambling on about how they personally punched Hitler while getting blown by Eva, modern gear is more accessible and there's plenty of stuff to do ranging from US kits like MARSOC to RUSFOR stuff like FSB, and even things like various HRT and SWAT units. The only thing I ever see from the Cold War era is Vietnam, and that's because of the vast cultural effect it had on the US.
It's probably also a combination of Cold War era kits not being super high speed, and the fact that there wasn't much action between Vietnam and the Gulf War other than small skirmishes in places like Grenada and Panama.

Ausfag here, moving to japan for a few years soon, pretty keen to try airsoft. i know that the jap market for asg's is a bit different to the US and Uk's (from what i gather) so is there any hard to find bits and pieces i should keep my eye out for? not necessarily looking for a gun so much but like little tidbits like a good speedloader or any other jap wondergadgets that are hard to cop anywhere else?
>>
>>2372810
Well, a lot of Cold War era gear is surprisingly available, since there's a shitton of decommissioned surplus stuff. For lots of armies chicom, some woodland/french lizard/portugese lizard and an AKM/M16A1 is more than enough.

Looks like I'll need to get an A1 FSB too since the JG 733 barrel that I currently have has its FSB cast onto the barrel. Do you think I could go the poorfag route and just make a sleeve for an A2 profile one, or would that look too farb?

Yes, here is my blessing and my advice:
Look not for guns you want, but for guns you know are worth the trade. Know what your options are around your home, look at the local pawn shops, the thrift stores, even gun shops. You will NEVER know what may be there, not even I know. Finally, know what websites may help you in your endeavors. For me, it is a local site known as lejeune yard sales; for you, it may be a county site. Craigslist or letgo when narrowed down will help you too, I just got a 40" flat screen and fireplace for $20. If you wish to have a recommendation on sites with decent prices, all you have to do is ask.

If you get the drop on someone, give them a shot or two to centre mass. No need for overkill, but actually shooting them is more definitive than just telling them they're out.

I just don't like grip safeties on pistols, I always felt the Spaniards had the right idea when they omitted them from their 1911 clones.

It's not so much an issue of engaging it or not, I just think the presence makes for a slightly less nice grip, like it'd be nicer if it was just engaged by itself at all times and there was no change no matter how my hand shifted.

>>
>>2384438
Hicaps are fine for starters, but they're noisy and can be somewhat finicky. Midcaps sacrifice capacity for simplicity and quietness.
If you want hicaps, at least get flash mags.
>>
>>2384438
Hicaps are often looked down upon because they don't require you to reload. You wind a gear on the bottom of the mag to compress the spring. bb's are fed from a large chamber in the mag which can hold more ammo than several midcaps combined. I carry one on me as a last resort if I go through all my midcaps since having just one almost doubles how many bb's I can carry at once on the field.

A lot of people's reaction to being grabbed from behind would be to react physically.

Just use your gun. A fake knife is needlessly edgy.

None of the sites I go to use the bang rule. The games are better for it too.

The bang rule is too open to abuse/overuse/misinterpretation etc.

Did you photoshop the orange tip or does it come like that?
>>
>>2385693
If you live in the US all Airsoft guns are legally required to have an orange tip at the time of sale. If you are over 18 you are free to remove the orange tip after purchase. Krytac is kind enough to give you a black metal flash hider in the box. So no, the tip is not photoshopped.
>>
>>2385687
I wish you could visit our team's training ground near Zvenigorod. In summer you can easily get vietnamese experience - be eaten by mosquitos, drown in the swamp, stumble in the woods, step on the boobie trap and be shot from the ambush.
>>
I'd consider doing Vietnam reenactment if most other reenactors weren't fat, balding guys, or faggots who go absolutely ballistic over "muh period correct" shit. Most don't even play that much airsoft, and are absolutely useless ingame.
Fuck, yesterday three dudes had a 30 minute conversation about Vietnam USGI canteens.
At least the people on VC are cool, fun to play with dudes, and consistently play OpFor, so you quickly make friends.
I would definitely make a retro Army kit, though.

So GBB Berettas are a shitshow, but does the same apply to electric Berettas?

Is there an electric Beretta made of metal and which has a reciprocating slide, and would it be as bad as a GBB Beretta?

I will say that it's nice to get an impression right, like actually using ERDL and M1967 webbing, but yeah some people get really autistic about it and that really belongs in reenacting and collecting instead of bbwars. Some dude smashed his KWA like a dumbass, started to say that it lacerated his hand, and then started posting it all over multiple Facebook pages.
It only takes a sliver of knowledge to realize that the tiny gas mag of a 1911 wouldn't rupture like that and shatter the frame unless you left in the oven, and then started wailing on it like a retard. Something like a WE M14 or SCAR H mag sure, but even then the mag would more likely just blow out and not fragment.

Not to mention that if his KWA just exploded for no reason out of the box, you would see more than the occasional shitpost. You could honestly take that shit to court.

Don't bother with AEPs. They're generally really weak clocking in at sub-200 FPS, have cheap plastic bodies, the slides are slow and only go back about an inch, sound pathetic, and have zero replacement parts.

If you absolutely HAVE to get an AEP, get a CYMA since those are Marui clones and you can get CYMA OEM gearboxes from places like Ehobby when your current one shits the bed. You don't get blowback on them though.

I had a WE brand Beretta 84 and it was a gigantic disappointment, trigger spring broke (after not that much use), and after a lot of effort trying to communicate with the dumb gooks to get me to send me replacement parts (some which they got wrong because of their terrible communication skills), the gun fell apart when I tried to put in the new spring (which I never got in there) and it's now sitting in a box, in parts, because I don't have hands small enough to get all the working parts inside.

I don't ever want another WE made Beretta again.
On the flip side, their M&P9 has held up through a lot of abuse and dumb shit I've put it through.

Airshit is generally not made out of high strength forged steel or machined aircraft aluminum, it's ABS plastic, zinc castings and maybe the odd small part made out of steel, on nicer guns. The finish is seldom anything but paint, as well.

Enough impacts from a 0.30gr projectile at 300fps or so will not only chip paint like crazy, but it'll batter that plastic and zinc over time, you'd definitely end up seeing some stress fractures at weaker points with enough hits.

What eastern bloc gun would you recommend for under 150 dollars? I have been looking over the cyna AK series, but if you guys have a quality suggestion besides that I am all ears
>>
OK LADS

I'm buying a new gun, here are my options.

G&P M4 Wirecutter= http://www.evike.com/products/55809/

TM S-System= http://echigoya-guns.com/standard-electric-gun/35-m4-s-system.html

TM Type 89= http://echigoya-guns.com/standard-electric-gun/39-type-89-fixed-stock.html?search_query=type+89&results=159

S&T Type 64= http://www.evike.com/products/53389/

Thoughts? Obviously the G&P is the best deal in terms of build quality and performance for the price, but I have a thing for the s-system and The jap guns call to me as well. Help a nigga out?
>>
>>2389266
What are you looking for exactly? The G&P would beat all the others in externals and performance, but the Howas would be cool snowflake guns.
>>
>>2389296
Exactly, that's my dilemmas. I'll probably go with the G&P. I was toying with the idea of a Krytac bit they just look so boring to me.
>>
>>2389266
The G&P looks just like a Krytac LVOA-C if you wanted to go the Krytac route

I had an M4 S-System and I was underwhelmed, it was really creaky although it was the old one not the newest one.

Type-89 is pretty sweet if you want a serviceable "snowflake" gun.

I'd pass on the type 64
>>
>>2389266
Unless you really like the Type 64, don't bother with it (quality isn't great, spare external parts like hens teeth etc.).

The other three are all perfectly serviceable, so just go for the one you like the look of most.

I really like the look of the SVD, but I can imagine the barrel being a complete bitch to manoeuvre with.

Contrary to popular belief, the barrel lenght does matter, but not as much as people might think. Just slapping a 500mm inner barrel to your MP5 wont make it shoot farther, but propably drops the range because the cylinder air volume is all wrong for the barrel
>>
>>2391588
Okay, so you expect me to believe that you were the very best that your generation of Navy SEALs had to offer? I highly doubt that. If you were as good as you say you were, i don't think for a second that you would be browsing 4chan. This is mostly a place for jobless neckbeards that still live with their parents, and nerdy high school kids that don't have any friends. It really isn't the place for highly-trained assassins to be hanging out in their spare time. Even if it was, something far worse than a troll being mean to you probably would have set you off a long time ago. What about the slew of gore and child pornography that gets posted here on a regular basis? Isn't that something that deserves a person being hunted down and made to regret their actions? Yeah, you're just not the 4chan type. Sure, there's a wide variety of people that browse here, but you're far from the core demographic if you are who you say you are (which isn't the case). Even if it were true that you're an incredibly talented soldier, I think all the military discipline would prevent you from getting mad enough to murder some random idiot on the internet. I also doubt that even the best SEALs have a "secret network of spies across the USA". Why would all of the most expanisive Big Brother network in the world be willing to help a troubled PTSD-sufferer hunt down some random kid on the internet? That doesn't even make sense. If you're gonna try to scare somebody, make it more believable than "IM A SUPER SOLDIER HURR DURR". You might frighten a thirteen year old who doesn't know any better, but to must of us you just look like a kid with an anger problem and a very active imagination. Hopefully things will be easier for you when your puberty's over. Best of luck with that... kiddo

you can fuck with joule creep differences by running different short/long barrel uppers (or just inner barrels) on the same gearbox configuration. that's about the only actual difference, and its a very autistic thing to care about desu. just go with bore quality (prometheus, pdi, edgi, etc.) over length and you're fine. the longest recorded airsoft shot was made through a short edgi barrel out of a stubby VSR-X build, for reference.

What's the average age of most of those airsofters? Why do you think that is? I'll tell you why: because being poor as shit is only fun when you're a stupid ass kid. Just as soon as your peer group moves on to adult pursuits you look fucking retarded playing the "cool kid who plays airsoft". Trust me, when all your family and friends have stable jobs, kids, and nice houses your playing airshit out of an old dilapidated rust covered CQB field won't measure up anymore. And don't give me all that "I do it for myself" bullshit either. lol, no fuck you don't. The DMR is cheaper because it's generally less desirable. As for the railed one costing less than the scout version, I have no idea. Evike can be somewhat bassackwards in their pricing.

i have one. It's true that there isn't really much to tinker with under the hood. I spent all of last Saturday flat hopping my gun only to find the stock krytac bucking and nub consistently out performed the flat hop. The only thing I could do to increase performance was installing a prometheous barrel and rewiring the gun to deans. With an 11.1 lipo the trigger response and fire rate is great. The only thing I plan to do in the future is install a spectre mk2 mosfet as soon as they come back in stock.

>>
>>2403597
Yeah they're good. You're going to want to upgrade some things further down the road such as the bucking, safety, and trigger, but it's Marui compatible so you'll have no issue finding parts.
>>
>>2403605
>bucking
Not certain what that is.

>safety
Seems like it'd be a minor thing, I'm maybe not 100% on an ambi safety, but it doesn't seem like there'd be anything wrong with it. If it's easy to do, and there's lots of options, I might look at swapping it though.

>trigger
Can't be that bad, but then, I'm a guy who thinks the trigger on his WE brand AR is pretty decent.

>TM compatible
That's actually incredibly nice to know, that means a lot of spare parts and options, I'll keep that in mind.

So if I find a spur hammer for a Tokyo Marui, it should fit on my KJW? How easy would that be to swap, likewise, if I were to find another slide for a HiCapa, how much work would it be to move all the internals from the old slide to the new one?

>>2403659
The bucking is the piece of rubber inside the hopup that comes in contact with the BB. I say the safety and trigger because over time both will wear down since they're made from cheaper metal. They shouldn't really be priorities on your upgrade list unless you're the type of turbo autismo that needs a 1 lb race gun trigger for bbwars.

Parts wise, a lot of it should just drop right in, but you need to realize that not every company makes their parts to the same exact dimension so they may require some minor modifications to the part of the gun itself. Slides are a good example of that where you may or may not need to lightly file down the slide so it runs smoothly.
For example, I have a WE slide on my TM 5.1 and it's not the snuggest fit.

It's a "skull crusher" mount for the PVS-7.
The pads you see are to distribute the weight of the NOD more evenly and make wearing the mount a little less uncomfortable.

how about you post pictures of the battery... you aren't describing the chemistry, which is crucial given your charger is only for nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride batteries.

I see it doesn't have a barre bushing, which is a plus to me, makes things a bit simpler I figure. How's the takedown?

>>2403996
I don't even bbwars, I just target shoot and plink, but I don't really need a luxury trigger, as long as it's not some NYPD style travesty it'll probably be fine.

Yeah you'll be fine then. You will want to upgrade the bucking and barrel though since you'll get tighter groups and possibly better range out of it.

>how is your next build?
Which one... I'm working on about three different things right now, two waiting on parts and one I'll probably spray paint this afternoon. Thankfully it's all relatively little stuff.

>what is your current favorite airsoft gun?
Probably going to be the G&G M1 Garand I traded for when it comes. I'm very curious about it.

>are there any fields you've always wanted to go to?
POW in Scotland if it's still up. The Depot would be neat too, I just like the look of the fields Scout films on.

>are there any groups you'd want to do OPs with?
Not really. I'd love to check out some World War 2 groups though and just see their shit.

>any new airsoft guns in 2017 that look interesting to you?
The Vector is interesting but I pretty much know for a fact I'll never have one, between dealing with retarded Canadian prices and liking other options a lot more I'll likely never get one.

On another note, I have quite a few guns for my VC loadout and have been thinking the past while that an airsoft MAT-49 would be awesome. Their receivers are so chunky I think you could easily provide a decent space in there for batteries. Am I the only one who would be interested in one of those?
