What happened to Maggle? When he was announcing with Tazz he was based
>>2344876
Tazz left.
>>2344876
Everyone hated him when he was with Taz.

>one JR-sucking faggot hated him when he was with Tazz and called in to a show to say that
+18
Most people liked Cole and Tazz and the duo are still fondly remembered to this day
its called chemistry ya mark
have sex
>>2344876
Paul Heyman left his ear and got replaced by Vince & Kevin Dunn
I for one fucking hated Taz and his noise pollution accent.
>>2345057
This
Mitchell Cole and Taz surprised everybody
Who would have thought that a former ECW great and a skinny faggot interviewer that constantly got owned by DX and The Dwayne, could work so well together on commentary
I miss the Maggle that shit on NXT and "women's wrestling" constantly
Is he gone forever?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSgDc7bG4oA
cole actually called the moves back then and sounded genuinely interested in the action
tazz could get a little annoying at times but he was great for hyping up big moments/spots

what do you mean? he's amazing now
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsJa4o79g8w
I remember Taz ribbing Michael Cole while he was in TNA.
>Mike Tenay(?): you're doing a great job doing the play by play for me partner
>Taz: You're not the first Mike I had to carry by doing the play by play
He could have just been poking fun at Cole, or maybe he legitimately hated working wit him.
he was good in the UK tournament, i guess it just depends on whos producing him and for the most part raw these days is overproduced on all levels
>>2344876
It's weird that he's been around so long that he's now part of the old guard.
He was never good, he's just been around for ages
>>2345092
Heel Cole made me stop watching WWE
>>2344876
he's legitimately one of the worst aspects of RAW, along with the production design and direction. It's just...insane to me how they went from Gorilla and Ventura and Heenan and JR to fucking Michael Cole.
>>2345578
One of the worst aspects of Cole on commentary is his voice. And the way he says certain things. Every time he says "WWE" I want to kill myself
>>2345580
Cole could read a direct script of Ventura or JR's finest commentary and it would be fucking dogshit. He's not good at this. Even Tony Schiavone is better than him by virtue of his voice.
>>2345585
Exactly. And with his high pitched voice after 20 minutes of watching RAM/a PPV I just want to mute it completely or find a spanish stream, granted I would understand nothing but it's better than hearing anything he says.
>>2345486
>i guess it just depends on whos producing him and for the most part raw these days is overproduced on all levels
I can't wait for Cole to retire so people can finally get this
There are still people who blame him for saying Twitter and WWE network every 10 seconds, like he's the one deciding to do that
When Corey/Mauro or whoever replaces him and that person starts saying that same shit, maybe they'll finally get it
WWE's Raw and PPV commentary is NOT what it was in the 90s and early 2000s. Those are the company's key shows so Vince micromanages the fuck out of them. Lawler, JR, Styles and Coach were produced differently and were allowed more freedom back in the day. Now.....we're talking about a company where an old man will literally yell in your ear for saying "belt" or "title shot"
>>2345887
>making excuses for a guy who can't do his job and isn't smart or creative enough to work within his guidelines
Jesus. Because the uninspired, insipid company men Michael Cole and Roman Reigns can't do it, you bootlickers think nobody can.
>>2344876
He gets directed to do all this shit now. Everyone shits on the product and what it's become, but he's actually lived through this entire change and was with the company.
Eventually you get tired of shit, the fun stops, we can shit on the product freely but he works for them, he has to do as instructed on every turn, whether its a bunny twerking in the ring or Roman delivering a spear. In that sense, he does his job really well and honestly, before the brand split him and JBL were more than capable of funny moments and shit when they had off script banter.
The JBL and Cole show was also pretty good
>>2345893
The whole problem is the guidelines are fucking ridiculously strict for commentary. They are literally ORDERED not to call moves during matches on Raw, and to say other shit instead. Did you not hear Joey Styles' worked shoot when he was on Raw commentary

Notice that video is on WWE's official youtube channel.....they're not even trying to hide it
Maggle during the WeeLC match
>"It's like Raw, they're not calling any action!"
You can tell even he gets pissed about Vince and his stupid rules sometimes. Poor guy

>Never assume the viewer watched last week's broadcast
That's kind of what I hate about watching WWE, because if you're an active viewer you'll hear the same shit repeated week after week and you just grow tired of it after a while.

>>2345973
>>2345980

Heyman used to force them to redo the commentary after the show and edited it.

Mick Foley - a man who asked to be thrown off a 20 foot high cell - said that he couldn't handle WWE's commentary because of Vince yelling in his ear
"It would be tough to overstate how much I disliked my last 3 1/2 months with WWE," Foley told Mike Mooneyham of Charleston.net. "It was a month before I got the first dose of Vince's unique medicine," says Foley. "...I spoke to him the next day about it and told him I couldn't remember the last time I had been belittled and treated so disrespectfully.
"I accepted his apology and accepted that it was just part of a bad night he was having. But within a few weeks I realized that it would be part of the job and that I had to make a decision as to whether I found that acceptable... In the end I told Vince that's not why I slept in my car and slept on a cot in the Red Roof Inn even while I was WWE champion. There's got to be a moral to every story, and I don't think you save money and sacrifice to do something you really don't want to do when you're 43."
>>2345968
yeah but if you're an active viewer chances are they're not going to lose you on the basis of a few replays.
Current RAW doesn't even assume you watched what happened literally an hour ago
>>2346028
>once JR left?
He didn't leave anon, he was fired because flair decided that the best way to deal with the death of his son was to drown himself in alcohol.
>>2345980
>Be yourself
>>2346015
Oh, really, a brain addled non-announcer who has never held that job in his life couldn't do the job?!
Fuck was your argument?
>>2346028
The notes seem to be from around 2008
Probably about a year before JR stopped full-time announcing for the company.....and more noticeably, the same year when they finally moved JR to Smackdown and put Cole on Raw
>>2346030
That whole incident was such BULLSHIT......God.....
>>2345095
Jesus Christ.......IS THIS REALLY MICHAEL COLE ACTUALLY CALLING THE FUCKING ACTION?????
He reads from a script prepared by Vince and has Vince in his ear constantly. You remember how bad Vince was as a commentator?
>>2346268
do you seriously think Vince writes a goddamn thing? fucking mark
>>2344876
Vince wasn't yelling at the commentary teams back then during shows
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmJgCO2JjBI

Vince was always a pain in the ass, but he used to have to go through Heyman to yell at Cole.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nvl_A9ouM8
Heyman believed in Cole and Tazz, and actually stuck his neck out for them. He demanded that they be allowed to close out the Summerslam Lesnar/Rock main event when Vince tried to have JR and King do it
