>JAY:I know you’re one of the innovator guys in the crossover sports like motocross, skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding. Were you ever afraid to not be good at something, like you might be embarrassed and kook it at snowboarding.
>NATHAN: Well, I wasn’t afraid of being embarrassed, but it humbles you and teaches you that the person who is maybe not the best is having the most fun. Just learning how to do something is almost more fun because you don’t have any expectations of yourself. To be able to go out and have that much fun is like learning to surf in the beginning. Once you have pressure on yourself and you have expectations of what you should do or what other people are doing, it becomes kind of monotonous. Doing something different is so great and new. It’s a new experience and all new people. So all those things that I’ve done have been almost by accident, just wanting to have that rush that surfing gives you. I would do it and want to be good and try it and do it long enough to where I’d gotten to be experienced at it. It’s not that I was at a great level, but maybe it was a comfort level where I felt that I could skateboard or snowboard or ride a motorcycle. At this moment, I wouldn’t be able to do half of what I did at the time when I was not as well practiced. If I went skating for two years everyday and never surfed, that’s how it was. Now I’m back to where it’s just fun. It hasn’t been like something where I want to be the world champ. I’m just stoked to know or see or be a part of all of it. All of that stuff is incredible.

Saw someone posting his skate shoes on the older thread. He was starting skating and got worried if he's doing smth wrong because the holes are more on the side of the shoe and not further ahead. I noticed the same thing on mine. I just startet skating and I am a bit worried about my technique now. So is it normal or should I try using my toebox for sliding up my ollies. Sorry for my bad english. Picture is from the guy of the previous thread
>>2151899
That hole is in the completely normal place. Ollies wear down that part of the shoe. if you're getting the same holes then your technique is right.
>>2151899
my holes are in the exact same place, but mine are a bit fucked cause there's a seam there
I can't believe you lads are still here.
Yeeeew, landed a kickflip today. Been landing on the tail for the last few days, and some kid at the park told me to jump forwards and toeside more.
Gonna buy some new shoes tomorrow as my Macbeths are trashed. I really liked the look of the Toy Story Vans, though vans never seem to last. Do DC still make a nice shoe /esg/?
>>2152373
Ive been skting Nyja's DC shoes for a while, they're comfy and they're holding up good, but the laces are too far down for my liking so i go through hella laces
Northfag here. Fuck winter
I lack a garage, is practicing an ollie on carpet going to help me? Not a carpet board, my board on the carpet
>>2152373
>jump forwards
that's my problem. i always land on the nose
what does og concave and og mellow mean with baker boards?
>>2153190
I would assume "original" concave vs mellow concave?
>tfw I went to skate after a mellow rainfall and my skateboard went over puddles and now I killed my bearings
anyone have that comic where girls wearing thrasher gear mock a kid reading thrasher?
>>2153735
Bronson G3's are water resistantand super smooth
>>2152629
It'll help somewhat. I learnt shuvs, kickflips, and heelflips all on carpet during 1 winter. Just make sure you get to practice your tricks at least occasionally outside.
>>2153735
Minilogos are £10 a pack. I generally don't worry about where I'm skating and have to change bearings every 6 months.
Anybody skated a darkstar deck recently? Thinking about getting one but I'm unsure about it due to varied reports on them
>>2154298
I second this
>>2155359
I've got one of the soryama ones all the other graphics are lame. It's been good shape wise but I can only Ollie. Don't know how much my opinion would help. Also it's winter now so I haven't used it in like 5 months.

I ordered it anyways, my deck is fucked so anything would be better at this point. I'll report back when it arrives, got one of the timeworks ones since it was the only 7.75 I could find that was under 40 bucks.
so i wanna get back into skateboarding at 25. wonder how long it'll take to be good where i'm not ashamed anymore to go to skateparks.
What are some good skateboarding jeans?
>>2156984
anything wide and/or stretch... either get baggy if thats your style or for slimmer pants stretch. I've ripped countless jeans while skating but not 1 stretch
>>2157043
how are the levi' 511 slim fits?
>>2156947
same age as me. It all depends on you.
If I got back on my board and gave it the old college try, how long should it take for me to get comfortable in my ollie again? I'm 20, I skated when I was 15 and not much past that, for reference.

>>2157081
I like them, I have 3 pairs they're really comfortable.

tough jeans, will last a fair bit of wear and tear, cop on sale for like $40 easy
>>2156947
I'm 23 and only got back into it in july (i used to skate in midfle school but i only ever rolled around or went down ramps). I'm just now getting ollies down. Lids at the park wont judge you for being old, they will just respect you for learning how to skate again
>>2156947
I started skating at 27 Nobody will give a fuck, there's no age limit on skating.
>>2156947
I just started skating with the age of 21 after a week or smth I learned to ollie while rolling. I hope I can cruise in public this sommer without being ashamed.

I heard a few time that this guy is cringe. Actually I think his tutorials are really helpfull. Can someone suggest another good skate youtuber with good detailed tutorials?
>>2158361
Not a youtuber but I found transworld show me the way helpful for a lot of tricks whenthat came out
Hey esg i just wanted to say that I learned 360 flips last year and now Im trying to 50-50 in rails...
Fuck that shit is hard, I can get to grind it but i cant Land them because my Skateboard "sticks" on the rail.
I know that if I wax it, it would be easier but I Also know that going raw its What gives the style idk lol
Any advice for balancing and landing them?
>>2158437
>that image
>below coping kickturns make cool photos because im naked right guys?
What a lame fucking kook, being naked counts for nothing if you aren't even doing a fucking trick. Would have been better if he was just rolling on flat rather than showing he was too much of a pansy to hit coping with his cock out
>>2158651
I have an irrational fear of vertical, no matter the height. I am optimistic that it will wear off eventually.
But here's the deal: sometimes I hit the coping accidentally and even edge off. The other day I just went up with more speed than usual and my front truck cleared the coping and I went back fakie. My trucks have never been caught on the rail. How is that even possible?? I feel good about it but it confuses me!
Also, I hear a lot of people have trouble with kickturning but aren't afraid to either drop in and/or clear coping. I could kickturn before I could even pump properly. Explain, because I gather you are good with vert.
>>2158687
Just don't be a sissy dude. That's honestly what you're problem is
>>2158697
that's not why I made the post. Explain to me the coping mystery!
Update on the Darkstar deck. Got it about an hour ago, put the tucks on and stood on it. Looking down at it it almost seems like the nose half of the board is a lot thinner than the tail. Seems to have a decent pop, but I can't see it lasting long. Can't really skate it properly right now cause it's been raining like crazy the past few days.
anyone have any normal shuvit tips? i have been trying this for a month now and i just cant wrap my head around it and its really frustrating me.
>>2156947
3 months maximum. But it'll be faster if you don't give a shit about other people and go practice at the park.
>tfw I finally found a submissive skate bf
>>2158687
>I hear a lot of people have trouble with kickturning but aren't afraid to either drop in and/or clear coping
Literally never heard anything like this in my life. Everyone's first move on transition is the kick turn. The fear that you're talking about goes away eventually as you get more comfortable on your board, but it'll go away a lot faster if you physically make yourself do things beyond your skill level. 95% of the time falling over sucks for less than 90 seconds.
>>2159860
I thought you were waiting for me ;n;
>>2159984
You took too long, sorry anon-chan
>>2158361
Ride channel and some others on youtube has some tutorial videos I find to be more geared towards adults rather than preteens like braille, but it's spotty the type of tricks you can find. I will say tho, the Neen Williams Heelflip tutorial is 10/10
>>2158713
What coping mystery? That your truck went over the coping and you didn't hang up coming back to fakie? That's casue your weight's on your back foot.
>Third Thread with JUST DO IT kept in
>>2159138
it's all in your back foot.
Literally lift your front foot off of the board and keep it out of the way.
It does no pushing or scooping or anything. It just gets out of the way.
Then you jump and flick your back foot behind you using your toes to really push/scoop the board around.
Practice with a deck (no trucks) on carpet to get used to only using your back foot.
what tricks are best for impressing teenage girls
>legless male skaters are still better than majority of girl skaters
Can we stop praising skater girls for doing mundane crap yet? There are a few who rip, but the majority who doing nothing of value still get praised more than a talented male. Anatomy ceases to be an excuse when legless dudes still go harder than them.
>>2163468
Don't get me wrong, I like that female skaters exist. But I think its lame they are not pushed to be actually good like men. And instead are able to skate at a below average level by mens standards and still get sponsors
Its holding womens skating back. They don't need to ever really push themselves when medicore is praise worthy for them
>>2151721
pretty awesome to see a non wwe thread. I fucking miss skating, definately going to get back into it. same goes for surfing given my current residence at a lake house not far from the beach.

no that's good. if you are getting holes on the toebox from anything, you're doing it wrong.
>>2163468
>the majority who doing nothing of value still get praised more than a talented male.
Because talented males are a dime a dozen. When the talent pool for men is so huge just being technically proficient is not enough, it's one of the drawbacks of skateboarding being entirely male dominated.
Women on the other hand have all this room for improvement because for the most part they are new to street skateboarding. It's more exiting seeing them progress.
>>2163500
>And instead are able to skate at a below average level by mens standards and still get sponsors
Why should they skate to "mens standards" when they are not men, they should skate to their standards, and let them have "pros" who push the envelope of what skateboarding is for women.
You act as if there are no gender divisions in basically every sport in the world.
Anybody know how the fuck do you watch videos on the thrasher website? My Firefox can't display them, they just buffer endlessly, I don't understand.
Is there a way to rip them from the website? I tried DownThemAll but it did not work.
I'm trying to watch the new Welcome Fetish parts and the video for that new kid on Deathwish.
Why is this whole fucking board just wrestling shitposts
I didn't believe them when they said it was true but who the fuck is still following this fucking shit
>>2166360
>Women on the other hand have all this room for improvement because for the most part they are new to street skateboarding. It's more exiting seeing them progress.

>Because talented males are a dime a dozen. When the talent pool for men is so huge just being technically proficient is not enough, it's one of the drawbacks of skateboarding being entirely male dominated.
I know why its like this, but that's not justification for why it should stay like this.
>Women on the other hand have all this room for improvement because for the most part they are new to street skateboarding. It's more exiting seeing them progress.
Seeing the same mediocre trick done by a girl really isn't that exciting.
>>2166380
>Why should they skate to "mens standards" when they are not men, they should skate to their standards, and let them have "pros" who push the envelope of what skateboarding is for women.
Because I disagree with the patronizing idea that having tits holds them back that much.
>You act as if there are no gender divisions in basically every sport in the world.
Skateboarding's not a sport.
>>2167106
To sum up my argument. Women aren't retards, so why are they receiving participation awards or rather sponsorships, as if they are?
>>2167114
Not any of the others but I agree fully, imo Lacey Baker is the closest (st the moment) to having the same amount of skill as the average male pro
>>2167106
if skateboarding isnt a sport then why is it inbthe olympics?
>>2167144
Cause the Olympics are ran by stupid kooks.
>>2167114
>Women aren't retards
they're close enough
>>2166462
we are a mid sized lifeboat in a sea teeming with boring gay shit. i remember when /asp/ was really varied with all kinds of odd sports. i wish /we/ was a thing so they could talk about wrestling there, but i'm not sure this board would survive the displacement.
>>2167144
did they finally get it in? sad shit
Britbong here, just skated for the first time since mid november and I'm fucking dying, I was skating around my neighbourhood for about an hour and i partially lost a few tricks but suddenly have no-comply 180s
>>2167181
fellow britbong here too, I'm going skating tomorrow for the first time in months. Literally crapping my pants for some reason.
>>2159981
95% of the time falling over sucks for less than 5 seconds
>>2167220
I was earlier as well but I have anxiety issues so that would be expected. You'll forget you were even worrying one you start though
>>2167260
I have anxiety issues too buddy, I was just out practicing in the garden there as it's not too wet. Landed a few kickflips but I cannot heelflip anymore at all. Gonna go to the local park tomorrow morning in the hopes that I get it to myself.
>>2167269
Good luck dude
Hey,
I just started skating again for the first time since I was maybe 18/19 (22 now) and I'm having the same problem I used to have.
Basically I use my right foot for popping tricks, but I use my left foot to push, so my right foot ends up at the front of the board.
Should I bite the bullet and start learning to use my left foot for tricks or should I just carry on this way?
>>2167409
Use your right foot to push, keep your left foot at the front
>>2167457
I think I have tried that before, I'll have to get used to it I guess.
Thanks, man.
>>2167462
you definately want to get into the habit, mongo foot is dangerous and your prone to doing the splits and tearing up your nut sack
>payed to get into my local indoor skatepark tonight
>closest person to my age must have been 12
>was the only skateboarder
>hundreds of kids with scooters
Who pays for these kids? what the fuck. It's a good park but I got snaked so many times it's not even funny
>>2168339
I went toy local indoor park a few weeks ago and it was FILLED with amazing skaters to the point where you had to wait for an opening to go down any of the ramps and i can barely ollie so i basically just practiced shuvits in a corner for 2 hours
>>2167114
let me just correct you there for a moment; the women who have had sponsorships, besides the person who started meow skateboards and her early 90s part was horrible (but for which I don't know if she was even sponsored and that has nothing to do with my view of Meow skateboards, which is a GOOD THING), were all worthy. I am a boy and can't skate nearly as good as Samantha Brevard, Vanessa, Nora Vasconjalapenio, or Elissa Steamer.
>>2167169
>but i'm not sure this board would survive the displacement.
falseflagger detected
if you were here before, you 'd know that the board was pretty quality despite moving slow.
>>2167462
Changing which foot you push with is easier than relearning all your tricks switch.
>>2168742
I'm in southeast, in the shittiest town
>>2168634
>I am a boy and can't skate nearly as good as Samantha Brevard, Vanessa, Nora Vasconjalapenio, or Elissa Steamer.
>im shit, so mediocre skaters deserve sponsors
No
>>2168648
>if you were here before, you 'd know that the board was pretty quality despite moving slow.
Are you being ironic m8? You havin a fucking giggle there? I've been here from day one specifically for the skate threads and wrestling has been here the whole time, it just wasn't originally included in the boards title. But after much arguing about how its not an alternitive sport, it was changed from /asp/ - Alternative Sports, to /asp/ - Alternative Sports & Wrestling.
And yes it got worse with the constant threads for every stupid thought they have. But that doesn't change facts, wrestling threads have always been here.
Lying doesn't add credibility to the argument they don't belong on /asp/, stop doing it.
If girls get more coverage in skateboarding, even if they're not at the same level as male pros, it will encourage more girls to get into the sport. If the number of girls skating increases then so will the skill level for female pros. You might see it as SJW feminist rubbish, but it's true. Affirmative action works in the long run. We all want to see better girl pros, but that's not going to happen over night.
>>2170107
>We all want to see better girl pros, but that's not going to happen over night.
Its not going to happen by telling girls mediocre is amazing just because they have tits.
>>2167144
There are lots of events in the olympics that aren't sports but more "skills". Archery, any sort of shooting, curling, things of that nature.
>>2169980
>But after much arguing about how its not an alternitive sport, it was changed from /asp/ - Alternative Sports, to /asp/ - Alternative Sports & Wrestling.
uhmmm, the shitposting threads started after the came back from /sp/, to whcih they originally migrated from here.
>Lying doesn't add credibility to the argument they don't belong on /asp/, stop doing it.
Lying about what? About the board being quality (including the time they were originally here) before this shitstorm commenced?
>>2170325
if you keep slamming a newbie at the spot, do you think you are encouraging them to become better? Mate relax, it's just skateboarding.

I gotta question. Who started that put your hand over the camera lens thing after a trick? And why the fuck does everybody still do it?

Sure mate, I'll relax lol.
a month and a half of still not being able to shuvit. im considering giving up because i feel like ill never be able to do anything other than 180 no complies and ollies
>>2173353
dont give up, just move on and learn something else for a while
Managed to break my wrist yesterday. Went to literally just roll into a ramp and instead of you know, letting my truck hit the coping before going in I just shifted my weight and threw myself to the ground. I'm so mad at myself for doing it, I've rolled in millions of times. I was learning to fs lip on a miniramp. Thankfully nobody was around to see my shame.
>>2173372
what should i learn?
>>2172400
richie jackson is the guy that likes skateboarding so much he only wants to do his own thing have his own fun do his own shit man.
I just came here for wrestling, but one question for you guys.
Are X Games still a thing? I remember watching those as a kid and they were a big deal, I wait for them every year. But some years later there was X Games Japan, X Games Brasil, X Games Austin, etc, etc... And it just lost it appeal.
How big is it now?
>>2169973
except Elisa, Nora, Samantha and Vanessa skated better than a lot of pros. And fuck sponsorships anyway, as if that's the measure of being "good". I 'm only saying there were incentives to pay for professional females.
>>2173394
>should
there's your mistake
So the full Fetish vid is up on the Thrasher website, anyone know if there is a way to download it?
>>2173394
yoooo learn the coconut wheelie
>>2173394
What exactly happens when you do a shuvit? what does your board do and where do your feet go? Read the OP skating really is 90% and 10% body. Think about where your board is going. If it's doing the right thing, then think about what your feet are doing. Always be mindful about everything. Trying constantly without thinking about whats going wrong means you'll never improve. Just think.
You know I was in the "women are far inferior skateboarders" camp and after reading all the posts in this thread I still sort of felt that way. But it seems kinda too coincidental that this teaser drops and looks pretty promising.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK8l4FUX9Rg
>>2174160
How many pro females skate street? What I specifically don't like about female skaters is they don't go as fast. What impresses me most about any skater is the speed/height of their tricks. Welcome's new vid had that girl but those two kids who shared a part looked way faster. Maybe it's the camera work?
>>2155707
yoooo, those sorayama boards are the only decks darkstars put out that look any good as of late.
>>2174530
I know she isn't going super fast, but 1. it is a teaser so who knows what else is in the vid. 2. Her technical ability seems to be pretty good as far as I can tell, and that's what impresses me the most. She's not doing basic stuff with no style she's got her own style and is doing stuff that is technically interesting.
has anyone here skated a welcome deck before i know i'm a little late to the whole shaped board trend but i've been really interested in picking one up
>>2168648
what? no falseflagger, though i know wrasslefags post shit all the time.
My point is that the high amount of /wwe/ related content has definitely displaced a lot of other alternative sports. You really don't see the same variety you used to, although the big ones are still here. they've been driven off, and if you removed the wwe stuff there likely wouldn't be enough attention to keep /asp/ afloat.
or hell, what do i know. maybe a containment board would be best. or maybe we are that containment board.
regardless, /asp/ is still quality, you just have to sort through extreme amounts of chaff. /esg/ is still great imo
>>2174949
I've been wanting to try some of those decks out too but I find my mind wont let me support such a mediocre company. Plus I found that the graphics of the size i want are shit.

99% of female skaters who can actually skate don't rely on their gender for anything. Only bimbos like Leticia Bufoni milk the sK8tR gUrL vibe.
>>2178323
really? he always seemed like he's just into the fun 70's style and doing creative skate stuff. trying to innovate. maybe you're right, though. he wouldn't be the first.
>>2178819
>99% of female skaters who can actually skate don't rely on their gender for anything
You're just making shit up. That's based on next to nothing. Girls aren't stupid, they know men are going to give them more attention their skating abilities warrant when they post their lame footage to instagram and make a point of being a chick who skates.
Its a little trivial in the long, but its more interesting to discuss than "beginner here" or "should I get back into skating" types.
>>2178877
I'm not saying he doesn't sincerely enjoy skating. But watch an interview with the guy and it becomes pretty apparent he loves the spotlight
>>2178905
yeah. not sure that's a bad thing. i like a good spotlight. I get what you're driving at, and you could easily be right. i don't pay him much attention to be frank.
also agree with you on the chicks in skating.
Bufoni ran with the "hot skater babe" style and Baker runs with the "i'm maybe transgender mostly fighting stereotypes fighting against males in this sport and proving once & for all that it's for girls too!!!"
it's a new way to find "find your place" or some solidarity. in a more crowded world, it's easier to feel a sense of purpose and community when you're railing against something. Be it sexism or cultural marxism or whatever. i still don't really understand the need to "fight the power" all the time in everything you do.
But that's probably just because i'm too "ignorant" and don't "understand what it's like", because if anything in the world matters it a point of view that must be felt and not understood.

right, because he's all over teh media. Out of 99% of the pool of pros who give interviews, I 'd rather watch Richie talk. I don't care about "succesful business stories", I am not going to reach that, in fact, very few will. I 'd like a skater to talk about skateboarding.

Didn't say it was a bad thing. Some people need more motivation than just having fun. And I was just stating I believe Richie to be such a person

When do you ever see this outside of poser instahoes wearing thrasher and carrying penny boards? Any girl that can actually skate skates only because she loves to skate, just like dudes. There's no malice of conniving going on. The only time I see girls making a point about being a girl who skates is when they're trying to encourage other girls to get into skating which is a good thing. It's never about self promotion.
>>2180892
>Your argument is women don't "deserve" sponsorship because you don't think so
I'm arguing they don't deserve it because they are generally held to a lower standard and produce mediocre skating as a result.
>You are not the almighty skateboard judge
I never claimed I was
>your opinion does not matter
Again I never claimed it matter anymore than a post on 4chan. Surely you are not arguing that we shouldn't discuss our opinions? And if so what makes your opinion that I shouldn't discuss mine, a valid opinion?
>your argument has no foundation
Have you been paying any attention? Its a generally accepted fact women are held to a lower standard in skating than men because of gender roles and that they are simply less represented in skating. Nobody has argued against this. And off that commonly accepted fact, I argued they should be held to higher standards because I believe they are capable of better. Sounds pretty founded to me.
>>2181017
>When do you ever see this outside of poser instahoes wearing thrasher and carrying penny boards?
All the time.
> Any girl that can actually skate skates only because she loves to skate, just like dudes
Never did I argue they don't enjoy it. But rather they know they can be praised for simpler crap than their male counterpoints would.
>There's no malice of conniving going on.
Malice? Again dude, not my argument.
>The only time I see girls making a point about being a girl who skates is when they're trying to encourage other girls to get into skating which is a good thing. It's never about self promotion.
I disagree, while they may intend to get more girls into skating as well. To say they have no intent on getting themselves promoted seems absurd.

>So I said, no he's also motivated by attention. What part of that's a problem?
we generally say that a person is motivated by attention seeking, as a negative trait. As in, they 're not doing something genuinely out of their need and joy, their ulterior motive is to get noticed. But honestly, we all like to get cheered on if we make something. It's part of being human and there's nothing wrong with that. Just because a person doesn't conform to the skateboarding norms doesn't make them pretentious. In fact, I think the opposite takes place. Skateboarding is supposed to be about personal styles.
Also, he simply states his opinions in interviews, where do you see attention seeking in that?
WHEN WILL THE NEXT BA.KU. VIDEO SURFACE???

as for source on lacey baker, absolutely 0. complete and total speculation, don't spread that as fact or anything like it. but she seems to wear the tight sports bra (makes sense) and a chest-obscuring slouch. every transgendered person FtM that i've met did the same type of thing. again, could just be her having poor posture or a simple desire to appear "butch" or whatever is a kinder word for that. but she absolutely goes for a more androgynous, if not male style.

>>2180144

>>2181273

And I went on to clarify that was not my intent in doing so. I was stating that I disagree with the quote that "he only wants to do his own thing have his own fun", because I simply do not think his motivation ends there.
>Just because a person doesn't conform to the skateboarding norms doesn't make them pretentious.
Is that really what you think this is about? I wouldn't make the same comment about Nolan Johnson. He's skating seems a lot less footage driven for one thing, but is he any more normal? Certainly not.
>Also, he simply states his opinions in interviews, where do you see attention seeking in that?
Simply not true, the man's been prone to telling lies to create conversation and create further attention to his interviews. Like the somewhat recent quote about being against modifying spots.

>as for source on lacey baker, absolutely 0. complete and total speculation, don't spread that as fact or anything like it. but she seems to wear the tight sports bra (makes sense) and a chest-obscuring slouch. every transgendered person FtM that i've met did the same type of thing. again, could just be her having poor posture or a simple desire to appear "butch" or whatever is a kinder word for that. but she absolutely goes for a more androgynous, if not male style.

>>2181383
>Like the somewhat recent quote about being against modifying spots.
dude, you 're either misinforming or didn't get the joke at all. He was being sarcastic about it. That's besides the point anyway, because even with waxed surfaces, it still looks cool. And the point he was making by sarcasm was that some of teh cool tricks on videos you see, aren't that innocent either.
About Nolan: you 're basically saying "it's ok to be NOT NORMAL, just keep it to yourself".
>>2181405
>He was being sarcastic about it
No fucking shit. But Richie isn't an idiot, he knew many wouldn't get the joke and try to call him out on it. And they did, it was both humorous and disappointing at the same time and he got the attention he wanted from it.
>That's besides the point anyway, because even with waxed surfaces, it still looks cool
No, that's ironically enough, besides the point. We aren't discussing the merits of his trick
>About Nolan: you 're basically saying "it's ok to be NOT NORMAL, just keep it to yourself".
No I'm not, not at all. Nolan doesn't exactly keep it to himself. He just doesn't try to draw attention in the same way Richie does.
>>2181399
>I simply do not think his motivation ends there.
Cool, I guess. I'm not floored by the prospect. We agree.
>I think you're reading into it a bit much.

Its also fine to say I think you're reading into it too much. You know like I did.
>Ok, that seems settled. Seems like every post you make is about as banal and deflective as I could probably ever muster.
Ciao.
You didn't exactly make the most interesting of posts yourself, just drew issue where there was none to start with,
>>2181508
>And I do not know why it took you so long to get that.
Because your post was unnecessary, it took some time for me to realise you literally had nothing to say besides, "nah". You didn't even have a point of view on why it mattered.
>Its also fine to say I think you're reading into it too much. You know like I did.
>just drew issue where there was none to start with,
Which brings me to my next point, I think you are very poor at discussing things amicably. Especially when disagreeing. I drew no issue with anything you said, and was never upset with your points. They clearly weren't offensive points of view, but you seemed to be pretty rhetorically defensive and insist on making blunt and uncompromising disagreements on everything. It's like talking to a door constantly slamming in your face. I wonder do you sometimes end up in arguments while agreeing with people?
I'm really not trying to be aggravating but I do hope you understand why people are continuing to "argue" and "take issue" with the things you say. It is not only what you say, but how you say it. It sucks but that is the way people work.
You are in 3 simultaneous disagreements with people on this thread as we speak. I have a couple friends like you so I'm really not bugging out. I mean you no harm. Ok I really have to finish my uni work so I have to go.

I have this problem when I try to Ollie. I sometimee land on the same position as I started and don't level out the board at all. The problem when I try to correct this is that I roll the board backwards when I try to pop. Sometimes I wont even get a pop, I just kick it behind me because I try to jump forward.

POP down fast and jump simultaneously with the back foot while sliiiiding your front foot up the slide will bring the board up. at the top of your ollie just flatten your feet out and try to land bolts. if you slide that foot your board will stick right to your feet. feels good.
