Unfortunately, as 'independent contractors' the WWE wrestlers signed contracts selling their services for specified prices, with anything not included in those contracts not to be paid for. Repeat broadcasts on the WWE network were not considered then, and so not included in the contracts.

In other words the wrestlers don't have a legal case, and this is a 'nuisance suit' designed to cause the WWE so much trivial bother that it will pay some small 'settlement' to make it go away.
