I'm so glad this piece of garbage got embarrassed and beat down in front of millions of people. He's a self-entitled, hypocritical, needy, pretentious phony and it'll only be a matter of time before AJ leaves him because he's so pathetically insecure.
>>
>>1747842

Apart from a handful of people, UFC pays like shit and always has. Criminal with the kind of money they make.
>>
Half a mil ain't a lot considering the battering his future earnings potential took in that 2 minutes. Unless he's not planning to live much longer, in which case: good deal, Phil!
>>
>>1747846
Hilariously it's still 20k more than what Mickey got for winning
>>
>>1747855
Im sure Mickey feels getting to beat Phil like a punching bag is priceless
>>
He should have just walked in the ring, bent down and tapped on the mat to show he foreits right after the fight began. Then he still would have gotten paid and he wouldn't have had to got beat, a messed up face and all the wasted time and money on training.
>>
>>1747861
His fighter license would be cancelled atheletic commission if he did that. UFC will sue him.
>>
>>1747855
Mickey's payout for his next fight went up about 200% so yeah its about the potential and Mickey won.
>>
>>1747803
Phil also got $2,500 for sponsorships or something

That's only how much he got paid by the UFC. We're not including Reebok deals or third-party media payments that are outside of his obligations.
You could also say he gained a lot more exposure which has the potential to make him more money.in the future.

But $500k to get beaten up for 2 minutes? Yes, I would do that.
>>
>>1747846
>minus 100k for all his training
I know you're in the middle of memeing, but I read an article before which claims camps only take a maximum of 10% of the winnings. But those are the very best. So if Punk's camp took 10% (But I presume it to be more like 8%) then it's still only 50k.

Punk basically made Gall a star. He'll get over it.
>>
>>1748002
>beating a bored 37 year old rich man cements you as an actual UFC fighter
This is what annoys me the post. After beating Punk, I saw a lot of people say Gall has a big future ahead of him, and how he's a fantastic fighter. How could that possibly be known at this stage of his career? He's fought 2 nobodies and a 37 year old man with 2 years experience. If you put anyone trained against someone not trained, they'll look fantastic.
>>
>>1747972
Do you know what it means? Read the article:

>It is also worth noting that Punk's salary was a flat $500,000 fee, meaning he wouldn't have received a win bonus had he defeated Gall.

The fees reported by the UFC are only what they pay them for the fight, it does not include all income a fighter has made from an event.

For example, Conor McGregor was paid $3 million for his last fight but he actually made way more than that.

If Punk got PPV points they wouldn't include it in the reported fees.
>>
>>1747972
No extras from the UFC. That's not taking into consideration sponsors, PR, appearances.

UFC paid him $500k, but it's more likely he would have earned anywhere from $600k to $800k at a massive push.
>>
>>1748020
>>1748029

You two are right but he's only making about 125K+ extra.

From wrestlinginc...

> MMA source FrontRowBrian speculated that Punk may receive a chunk of the UFC 203 pay-per-view revenue as well, perhaps at least $2.50 for every pay-per-view buy over 250,000. For example, if the show were to draw 500,000 buys, Punk would receive another $625,000.

> Brian also pointed out that UFC 203 had over 1 million Google searches on Saturday night, according to Google Trends, but Punk was not in the Top 20 search topics for the entire day.

This shits been misquoted, heres the original report from lordsofpain -

>
It's been reported that Mickey Gall took home a combined $30,000 for defeating CM Punk this past Saturday at UFC 203. CM Punk, however, earned $500,000 for losing. This was in addition to another $2,500 in sponsorship revenue paid by Reebok.

MMA source FrontRowBrian speculated that Punk will also receive a percentage of the UFC 203 pay-per-view buys. Given average buy rates and fighter percentages, Brian estimates Punk's pay-per-view cut could be as much as $625,000.

>Brian also notes that UFC 203 had over 1 million Google searches on Saturday night, according to Google Trends, but Punk was not in the Top 20 search topics for the entire day.

No, it didn't.
Diaz vs McGregor (an actually good fight) only got 1,650,000
and that was proven to be the highest selling PPV ever, including WWE.
So you're implying Punk had a bigger draw than any other PPV before?
Bullshit.

They wanted him to stay after all his crying. He would get all the best perks and top pay. Since he thinks he's a tough guy, he cost himself millions. He could of stayed, made a shit ton of money and took a smaller fight as a side thing, like a break, beat a jobber, come back once that monkey is scratched. Didn't big show do some boxing? Dana doesn't even want him back, he's clearly in over his head. He thinks he's this huge draw outside wrestling but didn't draw a dime.

WWE guys are still considered "Independant Contractors". They have to pay for food, travel, hotels, gyms. If you're lucky, they'll pay your medical bills, but that's about it.

Honestly even with the great pay day he got you can still tell with this look on his face and the post fight conference he did that his ego was very much completely shattered.

A guy like Punk money is just not enough. Punk also wants people to respect him. He wanted to come across as a badass but ended up looking like a bitch and his face showed this embarrassment.

That isn't true at all. There are people on the roster far worse than Gall, and who'd have been a better matchup for Punk (i.e. not a skilled grappler).

yes, because a large % of the buys for that PPV were to watch punk fight and now gall is the guy that beat punk. doesn't mean much to people who actively follow the sport because there was no reason to believe punk would have done well, but for the casual/new viewers that punk brought in, he's forever the guy that beat their guy. punk marks are going to want to see him get his ass kicked, which means they're going to want to see him fight.

Mickey Gall is living CM Punk dream and he get 30k for it while CM Punk very own dream turned into a nightmare, it crashed into a sea of flammes.
500K? He is already a multi-millionaire.

He wanted to prove something to himself and he did it. He proved that he couldn't do it, he is a failed fighter, he is not good enough for the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, CES MMA, etc...
His work ethic, his straight egde attitude, his millions of dollars, his speeches about following your dreams, believing in yourself... All that shit can't change the fact that he is a 37 years old, rich, angsty, narcissistic, unskilled tomato can that look like a 50 years old.

it is a joke, dana white has made it a joke, with fights that constantly get cancelled, fighters that can draw and every once in a while when he hits on something, he puts all his eggs in one basket (jones, rhonda, potato boy) and they get BTFO and hes back to nothing. He needs draws and buys and thats whats hes trying to get but they have to be draws that he likes so even though he has fan favorites like the diaz brothers, he wont use them because those arent his guys, hell based nate almost didnt get a rematch because potato boy was so shook and dana couldnt handle if he lost again, luckily it went to the danas handpicked judges and he got the win.
