Also, SD really needs it's own World Title, and not just because it quarantines Roman on one night. Why would anyone want this? All of the current problems can be solved without literally and forcefully splitting the roster down the middle. Want to give the wrestlers a lighter work load? Just do it by circulating who appears on each show, and make stuff actually happen on Smackdown again. Need a belt for people just below the main event? Make the IC title more important.

Limiting themselves like that is the worst thing they can do creatively. I don't care how good the writing might be, Smackdown will never be on par with Raw and if they do get their own title, it will be a secondary consolation prize and used as an excuse to never put the real belt on people they should.

I'd prefer if it was done this way:
-RAW. Back to two hours. Gets the WHC, IC and Women's Championship.
-Smackdown: Stays on Thursdays or is moved to Fridays (gotta space out). Gets a new World Cruiserweight Championship (has to be "world" in order to even compete with RAW), US and Tag Team's Championship.
(Or instead of those titles, split the WHC belt again which is probably better).

WWE would have its main shows on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, leaving the rest of the week free for their filler shows (Superstars and Main Event) and having a bigger coverage without burning people out as soon as the week begins.

Although this is just an idea out of complete ignorance of their decision. There probably is a better reason why it'll be the way it will be.

They've probably already arranged Smackdown tapings with the venues for a while so it's either live on Tuesday or taped release later.

As far as the logistics of moving their setup about, they will probably have smackdown in the same, or nearby venues so they don't have to move around as much or get a second set. Ideally they'd have separate stages so this would be no issue, but if PPV's don't then smackdown definitely wont.

One solution would be to kind of alternate so they move a few hundred miles between Monday and Thursday, then again between Thursday and Monday. Rather than moving all their shit in the week and setting up camp for Monday and Tuesday.

TL;DR It's probably cheaper and more convenient for them to keep with Tuesday even though Thursday/Friday would be much better for the Audience.
