part of the week (oi oi LONDON represent): https://youtu.be/unjQF2m7Jss
Bought bones atf a few weeks ago and noticed this today. Is there any kind of warranty? I messaged my local on insta about it but I'm skeptical if they'll do anything.
I doubt your LSS will do anything.
I don't know where you're at, but it could be worth it to ship it to them with an explanation of what happened. Worst case scenario you lose some money from shipping and lose a broken wheel if they decide it wasn't defective. I'd bet they'll send you another set and cover the shipping though since I've never seen a wheel do this.
We should add
To the OP. Its a great database probably the most complete list of who rode for what company when, and skated to what song in what video. I'm sure a lot us go on there anyway but maybe it should be in the next OP.
Made my own skate graphic. I'm pretty happy with it.
Found my first hookups in the wild yesterday
I want to support my local skate shop but their deck selection is lacking because they'd rather have fuckboi sneakers and t-shirts, so I'm going to bring a deck in and complete it there. Post cool decks or links.
C1rca got some new team members.
Slowly but surely.
They might be able to order it for you 9/10 if they're a cool shop. Sometimes the people the shop gets it from (the company, distributor) doesn't have anymore, either and can't send it to the shop anyway.
I definitely encourage people to support shops! People can build local, private parks with the money sometimes that comes in from a shop. Stuff like contests, jams, random skate teams coming through to do demos. All possible with shops.
Can anyone give me some tips on no-comply? I gave them a good try today and realized that it's a lot harder than they look.
Please help lads
Doing them straight without an obstacle is hard, you have to step forcefully, then really snap the tail, bonk it off your knee pretty much, then jump back on. Doing them straight using a curb to bonk the tail on is easier. Step onto the curb and let the tail hit the curb it'll even itself out and you can get on.
Frontside 180 is the easiest NC. Turn your shoulders all the way, as far as you can front side, while having your front foot heel hanging off a good amount, back foot centered, then just slip the front foot off, and the tail will hit on its own, and you should front 180 on your own because you wound up your shoulders, pivoting on your front toes/foot. At first you'll have the board land first, then you'll step onto it, as you get better you'll be able to jump with it, and get on before it lands. If you have trouble getting it to work, try to get your front foot off cleanly first, after that, work on getting a good snap of the tail, but the key is really you want to push the board around with your back foot after the snap... That's why winding up helps as well it will help you get that front side pushing motion of the back foot you need. You kind of want to "push" the board a full 180 with you back foot, literally turning your back foot around with the board
Backside .... Its the same... Step off, scoop, step on... But its much more exaggerated, hang your front foot toes off like the whole way, just your heel on. You want your back foot toes deep in the pocket. You need to scoop the board hard, like a shuvit, really... It needs to 180 fully way early to make it through your legs or your just gonna hit the back of your knee. Hope this helps
Can I skate an 8.25 deck on 8 inch thunder polished trucks? been skating mostly 8.1-8.2 decks, really want to get this deck.
I really like the look of Polar decks. Maybe next time.
Birdhouse looks like they want to win at all costs. Last episode they were in the van after the board building contest talking about how they should have cheated by peeking. This plus the clip of what looks like Clint pushing someone off their board during a trick attempt makes me think they will win but look like extra-juvenile twat-jocks in doing so.
Go Toy Machine/Chocolate!
Had one of these, it was an 8. Broke it on a varial flip today. Planning on getting an 8.25 or something.
9" Black Label Jeff Grosso with Bukowski graphic by John Lucero circa 2000
Birdhouse is good at this sort of team shit, also clint is a certified dick so they've got that working for them too. They're going to be like Zero was, multiple years of wins, calling it now
They are for sure systematic like the Zero team. The documentary that talked about Jaime having all the spots lined up in each city sounds exactly what the Birdhouse team is doing. This kind of regimentation feels so sports team to me so I really just hope they lose to the stoner Toy Machine dudes.
Not OP, but something tells me you are most likely an asshurt Zumiez kid who probably looks like LMFAO riding around with your skull candys and lunar nikes®. Why dont you post your neon pennyboard and show us what a real man rides?
Is it possible to have a /sk8/ board on 4chan?
Okay, perhaps edgy was the wrong word. I just think that coloured trucks and wheels look really cheap and poor quality for some reason. Kind of like they belong on a Walmart board or something. They just give off a plastic kind of vibe. But whatever, ride what you want to ride.
p.s. >>1286111 is my deck and I have silver trucks and white wheels and I'm 22 not 12 and they don't even have zumies in my country.
That's what you'd think but its not so true anymore, is: guy, ave.. Kostons fully flared part was all him in his 30s (assuming the earliest footy was from 2005) .. If Reynolds kickflipping UCI gap (staygold ender) is "his 900" he did that at 32
I see what you're saying, but it's black. lots of raw metals come in that color. It also matches the deck and bushings so I would give that at least +5 more points putting it at a 7/10. I think I also see the color of the wood matches the green on the wheels. Thats another +1. If he has white/black hardware I would give him +1 more point.
I wish I was more familiar with Ave and Guy to know their most groundbreaking shit but for koston I'd have to agree with the other guy who said the 360flip noseblunt, even though it was a small rail its still pretty insane
New AWS edit, good 15 minutes of skating.
And here's their last edits, fun watch if your bored.
>vert is mellow cause they don't bitch out like street fags when they get older
AVE's was the DC video
Jason's was Skate More or like the other anon said, FA
Koston's was definitely the 360 flip noseblunt. His switch hardflip and switch bigflip down the double set in Fully Flared comes close for me as well.
....so what's Pops' 900 then? And I never really asked this before but how does /esg/ feel about him?
shit was dope
might as well post my new setup
Like, don't get me wrong but besides Yaje and Brandon, I really couldn't tell the difference between the others. They all basically have the same style and stance, their only difference is their shoe sponsor (which 3 of them are on adidas)
Here's my new setup. Went bigger and with Thunder highs instead of Indy lows. Deck is an 8.25"
FUCK YES, THEY 'RE BAAAAAACK
Well, they DO. But they WON'T.
French + Italians: the two nations who refuse to speak English to foreigners. Probably some residual superiority complex from Roman/Norman times.
that's the undercroft on London south bank. I used to walk past there every day. Never once saw any skater do anything worth photographing there. Just a load of poseurs and fashion photoshoots.
So was there an MJ and Daewon part/clips? Because >>1287976 looks like a screengrab from the video
Well DVS is literally done. Lakai is trying to hang on, I guess? MJ sure made himself look retarded by doing that interview a year or so ago on jenkem where he shits on "big footwear brands" oops
Shit picture from my phone, I'm in class right now and gonna do some product shots later
>If a big sports shoe brand paid you 2 or 3 times your current salary, would you consider leaving Lakai to ride for them?
>Okay. No, I wouldn’t ride for a mainstream sports footwear brand. I would not skate for Big Company Footwear.
It was 3 years ago apparently but there you go
I like pops. He was good as fuck in his time, and his fully flared part was certainly ahead of the curve by a long shot. When FF first came out I can't lie I thought his part was stupid. But that's certainly the direction skating has gone in, and it feels current when you watch it today. I also like how he doesn't try to be fake, even if he comes off as a dick.
I don't like the way he posts photos of """""tricks""""" on Instagram but there's never footage to prove he actually did it though
I was tired of the black tape and screwed around with some chalk. What do you guys think?
This was after about an hour of skating. It does a little bit but I really like how it looks distressed.
Something came in the mail today, any guesses on what it could be?
The different geometries of their designs result in different turning, and weight, and materials used affect grinding (esp titanium trucks like theeve), you'll develop a preference for which brand you like and which model with time at first it doesn't matter much
I quit skating for a couple months cuz of school n stuff
What memes have I missed?
I only know about frog skateboards, the whole ig video trend stuff, and thrasher is all over the fashion industry (I'm from fa kek)
Not much, just the same as usual.
I'm still only working on getting my ollies consistent so not that bad. Plus I rolled my ankle real bad which cut my ride short.
But do they have customers/sales?
They're good in the sense that they're all a high top needs to be and nothing it doesn't. Also because every pair you get, in whatever color, feels and skates the same. They're dependable like that. But the downside is, they're vans so they fuck your feet up and go bald fast. I like to always have a pair on backup. Want to try the ones with a zipper in the back
After leaving Anti-Hero few weeks ago, Andrew Allen now skates for Hockey.
Thought? Personally I was bummed that he left the 1-8 but on the bright side Hockey seems less boring to me.
I know it's the same thing but it's better that he's on Hockey and not FA.
FA is lame with those Microsoft Paint tier graphics.
I wonder who's taking his spot on Anti Hero, maybe that Beres fellow?
Dropped the 3 stair today for the first time so basically i'm the best ever.
Tried to do this lame caveman thing that I do after that as well but security was coming out and didn't have time to land it. Was having a hard time catching my board because it was dark out.
I think it appealed to the skate crowd because Bam was in it, and that crowd stayed for the antics of the the group. Plus there was some cool filming and CKY just went well with what they were doing which made the video fun to watch.
>Did the CKY crew take off because of Bam's skateboarding, Jess being in CKY, or DiCamillo's videography?
tl;dr a little mix of all of them
do you like Mike Carrol? I mean he can do and did some very difficult tricks look like nothing, but is that really stylish? Just because of that? I think he stinks, stylewise. He looks like Tony Hawk street skating.
This is the best I could do for now, taking product shots after I get home
Yes, I like MC. His style is so 90s and early 2000s without looking like a stroke victim.
Also Tony's street skating was still 10x better looking than D Way's, so I take that as a compliment
Just out of curiosity, what size trucks and wheels do you guys ride?
I buy 56s so they last longer cause I slide a lot. the extra size isnt really much different once you get used to them anyway. I have a set of normal 159s and a set of hollow axle 139s so I can have a big board and flippy board going at the same time
it's not a meme
it was proven to be factual by professor schmitt douche bag
i prefer 147 thunders but 149 indys. i'll take anything from 50-54mm 99a as long as they're spits.
fa/hockey is cool af and anti-hero will always be the sickest no matter what. i support both of those brands quite a bit.
i wish he'd get on anti-hero full time. shit would be dope
he's said in multiple interviews he doesn't watch anime
Money is on Pedro
How can you say you have a favorite anime without watching it?
Get a ruler and measure the length of the truck.
>always like skateboarding but have shit balance so figured it was impossible for me + apprehensive about starting this late
>friend moves away and leaves skateboard at my place with a bunch of his stuff he couldn't take home
>decide to start learning a month ago with his deck
>spend a few weeks just learning to cruise around/carve etc.
>landed 3 consecutive clean ollies today after landing my first one ever yesterday
I know it's not much but damn I'm feeling myself
Are bearing spacers a must have? I don't tighten down my shit and I just use plain ass reds so I doubt I'm gonna get fucked up, but a second opinion is cool.
PS. always cut off the stripe on your sk8 His.
Just because they got somebody with a basic understanding of physics to explain to you mongloid highschool dropouts how it gives more pop doesn't mean it helps, at all.
You get more pop but you have a higher center of gravity. Thus everything becomes harder to land.
Risers are for bowl riders and cruiser decks.
>RISERS = MORE POP IS A MEME
>You get more pop
Kill yourself idiot
all i said is that it DOES give you more pop
which you know it does
so what are you even arguing
why do you care so much
please quit skating you FUCKING kook
Look at all of the eastern exposure and subzero videos. Guys like oyola and reason rode risers and were as good as it got for street tricks. I'll grant you they're really not necessary unless you've got 56+ but part of the reason for that is because they don't make your ride worse in any way. Its just a preference.
Funniest/craziest encounters or kick outs while skating? Interesting in hearing some stories. Wasn't really crazy but memorable in my opinion.
>skating at the top of a parking garage
>security comes up being a dickhead like usual when he kicks us out
>friend drinking slurpee throws it at the windshield of his suv he drove up on
>start riding fast down this parking garage
>get about half way down and this guy is driving behind us as we're escaping
It was funny as hell, it was like something straight out of a movie. Pic related.
Alright boyz. I cracked my indys and I want to try thunders for the first time. What models do you suggest? lights? hollows? titanium? I'm not really concerned about weight.
>go outside to walk garbage up, bring skateboard as usual
>no daylight left but for some reason i set a goal to have ollies down before i go back inside
>first few tries, zero luck as usual
>an hour in, still no luck, getting frustrated
>two hours in, foot hurts from landing primo but i keep going
>something clicks and i hear that crisp pop
>mfw i come back in after landing a some ollies, nollies, and almost landing my first shuv its
>hole in my shoe, hole in my sock
I haven't been this excited in a long time. I'm gonna practice my ass off tomorrow.
You guys are the best.
Lol. The reality is you are a little whiny bitch trying to proselytize a subculture with your shitposting. Skaters will, and always will, ride what works for them, not what some 10 year old kid cries about on 4chan.
The """""titanium""""" thunders are pointless, its a titanium axle only, so its surrounded by normal metal.. The hollows with both hollow hangar and kingpin are worth it if you can spare the money, otherwise just get the regular ones
same desu.. they're the required pants for our uniform at school & now its like some sort of fashion statement to wear them when skating .. oh well i stopped giving a fuck what people think of me when skating a while ago
interesting ill have to check that out havent been to a Kmart in forever i wonder if theres anything different about the skate ones
i like 874s which are the non slims bc theyre less restricting on your knees
So that's what those kook pants are called.
Kid at my local wears those, a leather belt with a tucked in t shirt.
I think he is trying to look like david byrne, haircut and all.
He is always doing weird bonelesses and stuff
My board finally came, what do you guys think?
