I feel the reason WWE doesn't draw casual viewers anymore like they did during the Attitude Era is because they are behind the times in terms of the style of media they are presenting.
Back in the late 90's to 2000's, reality t.v. and soap operas were the most-watched shows on television. WWE rode that popularity by presenting a semi-realistic, shocking, serialized product. Nowadays, reality t.v. is becoming more niche and soap operas are being critiqued as "stale, repetitious, and too reliant on senseless drama and weak plot twists."
The most popular products today are shows like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad. These shows don't present themselves as reality, but are heavily produced and deal with fantastical themes, conflict between factions, massive long-term storytelling, anti-heros, and sometimes even the death of beloved characters.
The public's preference on the style of television media they consume has changed drastically and WWE have refused to adapt. If they do not change, they will continue to be viewed as "old-fashioned" and "stupid" and stay ignored by the public until they eventually collapse and are forgotten.
What are your thoughts? Am I wrong? Am I a faggot?
This is something I've considered for a while and would love to get feedback on.
>reel in all the viewers in the attitude era
>go pg/corporate and take the fun out of your program
>wonder why the ratings get lower and lower each year
Vince did this to himself.
WWE needs a massive facelift in their presentation but Vince being 70 years old gives me little hope that he's not too stubborn to change it.
IMO they have to get away from this crackhead 'everything changes at a moments notice!' Crap. Like you said, GoT is the most popular show today and it's not full of crazy plot holes and it builds its stories over time. But when I watch WWE, nothing ever matters long term and it makes you not want to invest in the stories. For example Finn Balor got his shoulder broken by Rollins and got stripped of the title. When Balor comes back, now he's tag teaming with Rollins and they're friends? And Balor doesn't get a title rematch? It's just like...Vince and whoever else thinks the audience doesn't remember anything at all. And it really hurts their storytelling.
WWE right now is exactly what WCW was starting to become after the AOL Time Warner merger, a corporate politically correct product done by people who know nothing about, well pretty much anything.
The only reason WCW failed earlier is that it was owned by Time Warner, hence once they decided to pull the plug, it was done.
WWE is still owned by Vince who swallows the corporate crap, but doesn't shut down the whole thing. Regardless, it's unfixable. It'd have to leave the stock market so that is no longer hostage of investors.
Let's get one of these things going.

What if you were to give this company to, say, twenty... intelligent people I mean, what would that do? Let's face it, what would it do?

There aren't 20 intelligent people who give a shit about wrestling in the first place.
Who fucking gives a shit, fuck off. No one cares about the WWE, especially not on an NJPW board. No one cares, fuck off with your Roman garbage.

'll be getting into Muay Thai soon; what should i expect? I've been watching boxing since 7th grade and MMA since 10th (23 now) so i know how the training goes/the overall picture but I figured if anybody who's trained before would see this they could give me some advice/tips that'd be cool. I have all the equipment purchased already and gym im going to has all different sorts of martial arts trainers and a full sized cage and ring, so I'll be getting the full package. l do not want to work my way towards competing amateurally or professionaly and DO NOT plan on doing sparring for a while and even then i intend to keep it light or not participate at all (even with headgear brain damage still occurs and that shit ain't worth it. Will they have a problem with this mindset?).
>Muay Thai
might aswell just learn ballet while you are at it princess

What's the problem with Muay Thai? I can take other classes too, they offer boxing, mma, pure grappling, etc. But kickboxing just seems the most fun

Him walking out, was it just Punk not wanting to admit he had reached a point in his life where he's tired, burnt out, lazy and wanted to walk away?
He was pushed as the top guy for 3 years. Had the longest title reign. Got to face the Undertaker at WM. Got a high profile feud with the Rock. Won his feud with Cena. Got a licensed theme song. I mean, even the Shield members got generic shit till date.
>>2819682
I don't think a guy that burned out, was tired and lazy would make an attempt to do MMA. I think he just had higher expectations of what being a top guy consisted of, probably romanticized it a lot. Seems to me he realised that he'd never be Cena, The Rock or anybody else, but he wanted to be. Because it wasn't about being over with the crowd as much as it was being something else behind the scenes. So after feeling like he peaked, he decided to dedicate his time to something else. Probably figured if he could make his name elsewhere, he'd get special treatment if he ever decided to come back.
Austin walked out when he didn't like the job - he just followed in his foot steps

I want Carmella to turn in the MITB briefcase during a giant smark match like a Charlotte Vs. Becky vs. Asuka triple threat at mania for the Smackdown Womens Title. Have the 3 beat the living shit out of each other for a good 20 to 25 mins, have the crowd all hyped up..and out of no where..F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S....and Carmella runs down locking in the code of silence on Asuka causing the Asukas first lost and having such nuclear heat that Roman Reigns looks like a decent superstar...
