Last Summerslam Randy got his forehead shoot busted open by Brock. This summerslam Randy will wrestle a quick match with an anticlimactic RKO finish that does nothing to help Rusev, and not even the magic of fanbooking can save Rusev from those backstage politics.
>The New Day vs The Usos
Prior to the match, Usos interrupt the New Day's entrance again. They manage to incapacitate Woods and severely hurt Kofi but Big E manages to fight back and insists to the ref that the match can start. Big E pretty much single-handedly defeats The Usos, with Kofi only tagging in at the end to assist with the finish.
>Neville vs Tozawa
As great of a heel as Neville is, we need to accept that this has run its course before it actually turns bad. Tozawa is the perfect guy to take the belt, since the Titus Brand will do a lot to help the title feel important. Neville build off of the slowing but still significant momentum he received from his reign to tear through a Titus feud and eventually go after the IC title. For this match, have Neville work Tozawa's injury. Titus distracts the ref after Neville hits the Red Arrow giving Tozawa enough time to recover. Neville beats down Titus who refuses to fight back and cost Tozawa his title shot. Tozawa suplexes Neville off the steps, throws him in the ring, and does his top rope move to pin Neville and win the championship.

MAIN SHOW
>Miz vs Jordan vs Elias vs Kalisto vs Crews vs Cass: Ladder Match
Angle tries to book it one-on-one for Jordan but Steph returns and insists that there is too much talent in the roster to justify that. Angle comes out to introduce the match, putting great emphasis on his son Jason Jordan. Angle then sits down at commentary and again continues to emphasize his son Jason Jordan. Kalisto can get a big show-off flippy spot and Crews can get a slightly smaller one. Both men should get larger-than-usual support due to the diversity of the New York crowd. Cass throws guys around the ring light it's no problem (especially Kalisto) but then there's a spot where he and Elias are evenly matched in power and hostility, which gives Crewa an opening to take out both men from the top rope. As Crews climbs the ladder, the Miztourage pulls him off the ladder but Titus drags both men out of the ring and lays them out. However, Neville comes running down the ramp and tips over the ladder with Crews on top of it. After that fall, Crews is out for the rest of the match while Neville laughs at Titus and walks off. Cass tries to climb the ladder but Elias smashes a guitar on his back. Elias and Kalisto climb the ladder leading to a Selena Del Sol all the way to the ground. Kalisto tries to get up but eats a Skullcrushin Finale from Miz. Jordan tosses Miz around the ring while Angle applauds and walks down to the ring. Miz gets tossed out and Angles tosses a ladder in. Angle continues to applaud as his son climbs the ladder behind him. Cass gets back in the ring but Angle clotheslines him. Jordan wins.

>Ambrose vs Rollins: Inferno Match
Ambrollins vs Shesaro gets booked for Summerslam. Tensions between the two men continues to build. Dean and Seth are facing the Revival on Raw. Dean refuses to tag in for Seth, giving Revival the win. Dean hits Seth with a chair and leaves him for Revival to attack his leg. Rollins comes out the week before Summerslam to announce this match, talking about how rehab was a living hell for him and how he would show Ambrose exactly what his personal hell felt like. Ambrose comes out at Summerslam first and dumps a box full of weapons into the ring. Seth comes out in an encore of his Wrestlemania entrance, this time setting the ropes on fire. Seth slides into the ring and the match begins. This match is grapple-heavy, with both men shirtless and sweating in the heat to draw that Twilight money. Seth sets up for a curb stomp but refuses to do it out of guilt, then gets down on his knees and tells Dean "it's okay to hit me. I deserve it." Seth holds his arms out like a cringeworthy cross and Dean smacks him with the chair, then hits a Dirty Deeds for the win.

>Styles vs Owens: Special Guest Ref Shane McMahon
Everything they've been doing but bigger and longer and without holding anything back. I want to see big moves get kicked out of. Owens kicks out of a Styles Clash and Styles kicks out of a powerbomb onto the apron. Owens tries to use the belt to hit Styles but Shane grabs it off of him. In the struggle, Styles goes to superkick Owens but hits Shane instead. False finish where Owens delivers a frog splash to almost pin Styles while his shoulder is up but Shane catches it. Owens tries to hit the cannonball but Styles rolls out of the ring and Owens drives his own back into the turnbuckle. Styles gets back in and superkicks Owens who reclines back in the corner. Shane sets a trash can up on Owens and Styles goes for the coast to coast but Owens jumps up and slaps Styles out of the air with the trash can. Shane almost ends the match but Owens grabs his arm and yells at him that he was the one who brought the trash can in to begin with. Shane reluctantly continues the match, Owens hits a Pop-Up Powerbomb and wins the title.
>Naomi vs Natalya
Naomi looks strong but Natalya keeps working Naomi's left ass cheek. Naomi hits a rear window knocking out Natalya but begins to clutch at her left ass cheek in pain. Carmella comes out to tease a cash-in. Natalya rolls up Naomi, Namoi kicks out but Natalya transitions into a sharpshooter. The pain in Naomi's left ass cheek is too much and she taps out. Natalya stares down Carmella who decides not to cash-in.
>Sheamus & Cesaro vs The Revival vs The Hardyz vs Gallows & Anderson: TLC Match
A glorios clusterfuck of talent and mayhem. Just hand them the stipulation and tell them to do whatever the hell they want with no restrictions. Sheamus & Cesaro retain.

Now there are many, many reasons to despise the WWE, the atrocious writers and storylines, the micromanaging, the waste of talents but let's talk about one of the underappreciated reasons: branding. WWE is a company obsessed with branding, overvaluing specific words on the unstable whims of a 70 year old, out-of-touch, senile old fuck. Now, all of this could be forgiven if what they were pushing sounded badass or cool but they come off extremely corny and cringeworthy. "The artist known as Shinsuke Nakamura". "Wrestlemania: The Ultimate Thrillride". "Great Balls of Fire". The removal of first and last names, such as "Cesaro", "Neville" and "Elias". Banning words outright such as "Belt", "Opponent", "Pro Wrestler" and even "Interesting".
So what're your favorite (or not-so-favorite) examples of WWE's micromanaging over words and branding?
