>With a few days left before Royal Rumble, WWF is expecting close to 50,000 to be in attendance. As of a few days ago, almost 29,000 tickets had been sold. They've been heavily papering the city (giving away free tickets) and are hoping for a big walk-up crowd the day of the show. This show has seen some of the heaviest local promotion ever, with tons of radio and TV ads, "literally millions" of coupon discount codes on cans of Dr. Pepper and at Taco Bell locations throughout southern Texas, and custom commentary on WWF TV shows airing in the area where they are heavily pushing ticket sales. The PPV will be blacked out throughout southeastern Texas so if you live in the area, the only way to see it is to be there live. That being said, WWF has pretty much quietly admitted that the show won't be a sellout. But they've been hyping the 71,000-seat capacity on TV so much that they may still claim there are 71,000 people there even if it's nowhere close. As for the show itself, Dave predicts Shawn Michaels to win the title and Bret Hart to win the Rumble match, although they may try to throw a swerve, with some sort of disputed ending, and have someone else win the Rumble. But with that being said, Shawn vs. Bret is still the plan for WM13.

Do you think part of the reason why Shawn "lost his smile" is because he knew he wasn't drawing a dime as the "the guy"

I can't believe some people call this guy the GOAT, the WWE network would not exist if it wasn't for Austin saving the company. And WWE love to use the WWE network to hype up guys like HHH and HBK

You haters need to stop being contrarian, angsty fags and stop booing him. This guy is a generation defining superstar, respected by his peers throughout the industry. He has a place in history next to Hogan, Flair, Rock, and Austin. He also puts on 5 star matches. Instead of chanting "John Cena Sucks" during his entrance you need to be chanting "John Cena Draws"

Now that the dust is settling, this feud has been great.
The United States belt has received a lot more attention than the WWE Championship on the weekly shows. It arguably looks a lot more desirable and prestigious It has the two best recent world champions fighting it out, and screwing each other over, and discovering they are each other's equal. I love it.
Owens is the best wrestler in the company. He worked that crowd like a master for every second he was out there and lit some great heat in saying that Bret deserved it.

I'm having trouble understanding the indie logic on this board. You guys bad mouth the old school body builders yet all the indy darlings grew up watching them, they are the inspiration for them. Most of these guys just emulate the attitude era style of wrestling which was headlined by Austin, Rock, Triple H, Goldberg and the mainstays like Hogan, Nash, Flair, and Sting. All of them are big guys, the majority of the top guys were big guys during the entire history of wrestling.

Now, let's look at some facts some of you will have trouble digesting. The two worse eras in wrestling were the New Generation and the current era. What do these both have in common? Lack of bodybuilding type wrestlers. The New Generation had Bret and Shawn while the top big guys were in WCW, which was had it's best period during this time. The current era, does has a lack of big guys. Vince has given plenty of indy guys pushes (Punk, Bryan, Owens, Balor, Styles) and the ratings are bad. The only time they do good is when Cena is champion.

You can post all you want how NJPW and ROH are popular, but the fact is they do not come close to the other WWE eras, and they haven't even matched there worse. You can delude yourself into thinking one day they will, but they won't.
