do you think that muay thai is the best striking art for grapplers?
>squared foot position
>low kicks to hinder movement based strikers
>no need for flexibility to high kicks
>transition from striking range to clinch
>MT clinch itself
>then transition to takedown
sanda also has some cool leg takedowns but i think it is subpar compared to MT
That or boxing. Assuming you're willing to get in the pocket.
>>798974
why boxing?
>>799030
Because it's a very natural combo. Punches or their threat to set up the takedown and the takedown or its threat to set up punches, not to mention dirty boxing, or the ability to box effectively from the clinch.
Is Big Momma Pump the next Beth Phoenix?

shes learning and getting better at a pretty fast rate she will be better than beth and is already hotter.

I like Dana. She's comes off as very genuine and as the two posters above said, getting better every week.
Hopefully she stays on NXT for at least the next year.
Going to the main roster would be a terrible decision since Dunn hates every NXT talent.

Something rather less well known. Nippon Kempo is a martial art/sport that practices full contact sparring with armor and allows for both striking and grappling, pretty neat stuff, and I believe the JSDF's unarmed curriculum is derived from it. It has its flaws, namely that it still works on a points system and that scoring must be done by striking the chestpiece or helmet, but it just seems like a good compromise between casual training where you don't get overly hurt and serious martial approach as free sparring is a key part of the discipline.

Selfish prick who only thinks of himself or actually thinks about whats best for business?
I'm divided and can't decide. He does somethings that make me happy, but other things that piss me off.

You clearly didn't watch Raw during 2002 to 2005.
Little of both. Honestly, when all else is shit you SHOULD put the belt on Haitch for safekeeping until someone good comes up.
He really should murder Sheamus and take the belt. That really would be best for business.
>>797132
Both. He's a complicated man. You can clearly see how proud he is of NXT. But he's also a renowned dick when it comes to politics.

That title series shit is still going on?
I watched my first episode of TNA yesterday
The ups:
>wins actually seem to matter unlike wwe atm
>six sided ring is a nice change of pace
>2 hours
The bad:
>The fucking interviews with hardy and EC3
>most of the roster seems like untalented midgits
>matt hardy as a main eventer
>the commentators aren't at ringside and are on some stupid green screen shit
>all the promos and interviews are awful
It was alright, more tolerable then raw atm

Go watch 2003-2008 TNA, honestly one of the best times in wrestling.
Guys, I am 5'7'' and 19 and four months years old. I started training, resting and eating perfect well and I'm doing boxe and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I started boxe since january (four days per week), and I started Brazilian Jiu jitsu last week (five days per week).
I have determination. I STOPPED drinking and smoking weed and I love doing it. I stopped going to raves and I am training 4 ~ 6 hours per day.
I think I am more determined than professional fighters! Look Jon Jones! The guy is a champion and is doing coke and shit. I bet he loses sleeping some days, he drink sometimes... I am better than the champion! When I decided to become pro, I stopped doing drugs and I never will do again.
I have a chance? Look Sage Northcutt! The guy started training very young. He is 19 years old too and is already a professional! Fuck...
Now I just vaporize and eat.
many fighters don't become professional until their late 20s or even 30s. it isn't because of the skill cap, its because they were doing other things and decided to fight late.
you can reach a professional level in under 5 years of training, potentially.
it doesn't take that long to get good, you either can or you can't, if you can you will and if you can't no amount of training will ever change that.
>>795139
What's your record?
Why is he crying? He knows this shit is fake, right?
His push is fake, but the crowd's hatred of him is real
There are times I feel bad for Ramen and other times I hate him with no pity. I am confused man
>>794156
Read some of his out-of-character interviews, he's a colossal dickbag IRL and his nepotism push failing this hard is entirely deserved
Do short distance runners train any sort of running "technique" or they just focus on the physical conditioning?
Sure. If you want to improve your times just do lots of explosive squats and lunges.
You will never ever ever ever ever find a high level athlete that doesn't train technique.
yes there is technique, I have spent entire practices just working on coming off the blocks
like when you take off, your first step should already be forward and on the ground before you even begin to stand

How effective are weapon based martial arts anyway? Like for example, would a fencer or kendoka be able to beat someone trained in something like BJJ if they had their respective tool, or would the fact that their arts have more of a sports/competition basis mean they wouldn't be likely to win anyway?
Martial arts without weapons pretty much had as a self-purpose to improve weapon usage.
Weapon users defeat unarmed combatants almost always.
Many wrestling, judo, bjj people that try their skills on the street can simply get stabbed by some bum that knows nothing other than to hold a knife.
Are you assuming the fencer/kendoka is using a foil/shinai or a real rapier/katana?
Because I'm pretty sure their training weapons are useless for actually hurting someone.
>>757812
An idiot could kill someone with a sword. they are designed for killing people. Yes, you could theoretically disarm them, but it is not what's likely to happen, especially with someone who knows what their doing
