>What boots should I get?
It is extremely important to get boots that fit you well and to have them heat moulded. Therefore, it is very important to go to a professional bootfitter (not just a ski shop, but specifically a bootfitter). For a list of reputable bootfitters, refer to epicski.com/wiki/boot-fitters-on-epicski
You can also consider getting custom footbeds for increased comfort and performance. If you are a beginner this is not that important (though getting boots from a bootfitter is), but if you are an advanced-expert skier it will make a big difference.

>What bindings should I get?
The most important things to consider with bindings are DIN range and brake width. Your DIN should be around the middle of your binding's DIN range. For example, if you ski with a DIN of 7, a 4-12 binding would be good for you. A 1-7 or a 7-16 would be bad. If you don't know your DIN, look up a DIN chart.
The brake width should be approximately equal to the waist of the ski. It's better for the brake to be a little smaller than a little bigger (ski shop techs can bend the brakes when they mount the bindings), but if you go more than 7mm or so smaller the brakes might not fit well. Going up to about 10mm wider on the brakes is alright too as long as you don't carve really aggressively.

Okay. Got fat and weak over Christmas break, and definitely felt it when I got back on the mats.

Working on my Ippon seoi nage and alternate attacks from there. (Ippon seoi ko uchi gari and ippon seoi harai goshi, I guess? ) Some success, but they're still more of a surprise attack than a toqui waza for me.

Working on harai goshi and IUchi Mata from a close in, high sleeve and armpit grip, too, since I usually end up fighting lanklets.

Any Judo related Christmas gifts? I've got a sweet Matsuru gi on the way.

pic related, sans leg grab, is what I'm trying.

>While it was apparently always the plan of WWE to have Triple H win the Royal Rumble, having Ambrose as one of the final two is not what the company had planned. Ambrose in the final two was the “audible” that WWE called halfway through the match.

>According to Cageside Seats, one of the last two with Triple H was meant to be Roman Reigns, not Dean Ambrose. The crowd reaction to Reigns throughout the match is what caused WWE to change things up from the original plans and replace Reigns with Ambrose.

Does this mean Dean will get a babyface push instead of Roman, while Roman turns heel?

Would be nice. Dean would obviously work against the authority ala Steve Austin and overness

>>921157

It wouldn't have mattered. He's not going to get over, they're past a year of trying. I could see him being a decent heel but that will depend on him actually giving a fuck and being aware of his role.

tl;dr No, he's not over. Not really.

Extremely mixed reaction. Mostly just kids and fat chicks love him because of his looks and his entrance.

He's only a half-decent wrestler.
He's a shitty talker.
His moveset is limited.
He has shit cardio.
His gimmicks are annoying.
He has no understanding of the business.
He doesn't connect with the audience / can't play it like Cena/Rock/Austin/virtually anybody else on the roster to be honest.

They've proven they can get him over for a short while when they make him do badass things, but then they go back to making him do dumb shit that makes everyone hate him again.

Putting him in a match with Lesnar and Ambrose was very brave and (mostly) very stupid. He's going to be booed again unless they find some sort of miracle love potion to spray on crowds that make them instantly fall in love with him.

He's just mad because his dumbass fucked up by going to WCW and wants to pin the blame on someone other than himself

>“I wasn’t that impressed with [the Rumble match]. I thought it was one of the least exciting ones I’ve ever watched. I just didn’t find it very exciting. I found it very predictable. When all of the guys came out and ganged up on Roman Reigns, I knew that he was going to come back out later. It was just so easy to figure out. It was not suspenseful…

>…Even when it got down to the last four guys, I was surprised that they were the four guys. That they would pin the whole hopes of WrestleMania on the hopes of these four guys. Or two of them anyway. I didn’t like the decision that Triple H, surprise, put the belt on himself again. It just seemed like it just showed a real lack of imagination, if you ask me.

>I watched three hours of wrestling last night and I got very little out of it. When it was over, I thought, “That was the worst Royal Rumble I think I’ve ever watched.” Maybe next to the one from a couple of years ago. There was another lousy one. I just really had higher expectations. When I say all of my criticisms, I just want to be honest. I have a lot of respect for the talent… They do good stuff out there. It’s how they are used.”

He's right though. Saying it's the worst rumble ever just shows you he didn't watch last years, but Reigns walking to the back instead of continuing the match was retarded, same with the Wyatts punking out Brock. And in the end HHH wins the title in 2016.

Retard here with questions for other of martial artists, whether or not they studied WC.

I have informal background from a Sifu in college, i.e. we trained a couple of times a month to every other month or so in a gym or in a park.

I'm starting in a formal school now, if finances allow (I have one free lesson), and i'm wondering about training outside of class.

1. Will videos and books help supplement my training enough to make a difference? Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1F-vXRFgyM (although this guy looks like bullshit a quarter of the time)
and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ic3Y9Jh3VE (this helped a bit on forms and movements from what I can tell)

2. Should I bother going to a school if I don't know I can make it to more than 1-4 meetings a month? (I work crappy hours)

3. As this is going to be a foundation, not the final product, what should I focus on next, like grappling or weapons, and should I study now or wait until I'm proficient in Wing Chun?

Thanks for any help/advice

A couple times every month or other month with some guy in a park probably puts you at barely above a completely clueless boob tier, so the good news is you still have time to do something worthwhile.

Videos and books can help as a supplement if their quality is good and you actually train what you read/watch and see what works and what doesn't.

If you can't even do at least twice a week don't even bother paying for a school unless it's cheap as fuck.

Train in sanshou/sanda if you absolutely must have something chinese, it's pretty much the only worthwhile thing out there.

If you want to be able to use techniques effectively, you need to do a lot of drilling to make the movements muscle memory, and you need to do a lot of sparring, because you need to do the move at the right times.

Because arts like Boxing, Kickboxing, Judo, and BJJ, are taught with an emphasis on technique and sparring, fighters who train them become successful.

And because of misinterpretations of this, along with ignorance, delusion is created, leading people to believe that arts ling Wing Chun are useless.

Some moves may be more difficult to utilize than others, and people interpret this as: the moves don't work.
That interpretation leads to delusion.

So, shitposting on /asp/ occurs.

No muay thai thread? Muay thai thread.

I ve been practising thai for 3 months. I m still getting the hang of it but i m really enjoying it so far. I ve done karate back in my teens but it was too rigid, i like how thai is more fluid and fast but maybe it s just my impression.
I d like to have some question answered thoug. I m working on my guard stance but i m having trouble sticking to the principles of it like keeping my eyes opened, don t turn my torso when being hit, etc. and generally i ve got a weak defence. How can i improve it? Any advice?

I m not really into comparing martial arts. I started thai instead of taekwondo because it thought it was more keen to my way of moving and also because i like to use my elbows, knees and punches more than i like to use kicks. I dont have a deep knowledge of taekwondo so i could be wrong

Fucking doubt it. He's a huge name like AJ and Samoa Joe, and got a HUGE money deal and probably a lot of other guarantees to convince him to come to WWE. No way they don't let him keep his name.
