Donald Trump
So I have been rewatching a bunch of rumbles lately in anticipation of the Royal Rumble. Pic related has been the worst one so far.
>Crappy undercard
>Shit participants
>No star power aside from Stone Cold and maybe Kane/Chyna in the rumble itself.
>Nonsensical eliminations
>Shit winner
Sure the angle was white hot at the time, but it totally diminished the idea of the Rumble. The lack of star power really bothered me. Taker makes an appearance, but isn't in the Rumble. Kane has a very brief moment in it as well, even though he is over as fuck. It is pretty much the Stone Cold show.
The I Quit match is memorable, but hard as fuck to watch.

I'll slap the shit outta you
2015 is somehow even worse.
>>2097059
At least it had the redeeming quality of the crowd completely shitting on it. That was entertaining.
>go to party with my normie friend last night
>play a couple drinking games
>do tequila shots
>blacked out after doing a shot
>wake up in the morning at friends house with no memory of the rest of the night
>friend wakes up
>"Dude anon! You got hammered and kept telling everyone how much you secretly love WWE and why Roman reigns is horrible"
>fuck
>my friend showed me a Snapchat video I look away after 3 seconds
Wtf do I do now
Not care? If people care so much that you like wrasslin fuck em.

You're right . Why should I care ha
A reaction is better than non
We already have best of and worst of threads. This thread is for the pleasant little surprises that you enjoyed along the way in 2016. Nothing that blew the world of wrestling up, just things people may not remember that deserve one final look back on.
I was a big fan of Social Outcasts. My favorite thing was how none of them got an ego and tried to make themselves the leader (although there were subtle hints that Bo was going to do that in-story). It was four guys who knew they weren't household names doing everything in their power to try and get at least one member over. You could see that in their intro whenever WWE actually showed their entrance.
>Bo would come out and strike a thinking pose center ramp
>Slater and Rose come out excited and jovial taking a spot slightly in front of Bo
>They'd set up a wall to reveal Curtis Axel (The "muscle" of the group) who would spread his arms and do a gut shout as he took the lead looking genuinely powerful
>They'd all walk down the rest of the ramp shoulder to shoulder
Every guy had a thing. And every guy would walk out even if only one of them was in the match. So they were always helping each other get screen time. They seemed like genuine friends. I also loved how Bo would lead everybody in a lap around the ring and the announcers would call it the "Bo Train", especially since Godfather just got into the HoF.
Off course, Adam Rose's troubles mid-year ended the group for good. I miss these guys. Heath is doing great, Bo at least has something going on, but Axel is totally missing. Axelmania was fantastic, I hope WWE find something for him soon.

You could at least have the courtesy to bump me
I thought the social outcasts was a great act, because I like all the pieces individually. Heath slater has proven he can get over if given the chance since he did when he went undrafted then formed slyno. Axel was Vince's toy for a minute until he saw big e and forgot about him. I loved rose and miss him everyday, especially if you watch old nxt where the adam rose character was over as hell and I know it's a meme crowd but even in fcw or any Leo Kruger stuff I thought that character was well developed. And bo is a gem and has been so poorly underutilized. I miss his nxt gimmick
Watch any Tanahashi vs. Bad Luck Fale match and see for yourself.
AJ vs Romanetty, BMAJ had to carry that boring mutt the whole match

I honestly tried watching it but it's just so cringe worthy now, I don't know how a normal person can digest this shit, you have got to be autistic to watch wwe
Me.
But I have much more respect for Brock now.
>>2096927
That match looked fake as shit. Punk didn't even try to attack, he just slowly stepped forward looking like a 2D fighting game character. You can't convince me this wasn't a work.
Punk would absolutely take a sizable paycheck and love the opportunity to stick it to the WWE by making wrestling look bad. And you know they were expecting Brock to lose his match, so it was supposed to be a one-two knockout blow that killed the WWE. But Brock won and ruined the whole thing, not to mention Punk waited too long and a good portion of the WWE fanbase didn't even like him anymore anyways.
No, I will absolutely never believe UFC isn't staged. I had my suspicions and this match sealed the deal. That was the biggest trooth bomb I got hit with in 2016.

Did they have a good 2016? Or it was tough being fan of them?
My boy Omega had a god tier year, I'm so proud of him.
If we are talking just WWE, Corbin was alright. Some amazing moments and some awful ones.
2016 was rough but 2017 will be the year for /ourguy/
>continued his GOAT tier feud with Dragon Lee
>continued to be GOAT in CMLL in general
>came back with plenty of hype in NJPW
>killing it on what are essentially recorded house shows
>recruited into NJPW's best stable
>is going to take the belt off KUSHIDA in the best match of WK next week
All's going well
give me ONE (1) good reason why I shouldn't watch outlaw wrestling besides the fact that it's >>>>>outlaw wrestling
the matches, characters, crowds, everything is better than WWE besides the production
so why would I watch the boring bullshit that old fart vince puts out, when I can watch hot young men like pic related put on awesome wrestling matches?

I believe this bromance angle is killing Owen's career. Before getting the title and becoming a defacto sex slave for Jericho, he was a ruthless, cunning, heel who rarely took a pin and did not have to cheat to win.
Now that he is champion, albiet with the stench of HHH, he has morphed to the typical WWE booking chicken shit heel archtype. His promos are garbage, everything that made him cool and unique has gone down the drain. He is eating pins left and right. All these problems are compounded when you take his, still, awful look in consideration. His wrestling might be the only redeeming quality now.
Then there is Jericho. Jericho is outshining Owens and is sucking up so much heat from him. How can Owens politically backstage stand for this? Does he realize what a disaster his reign has become? What is the payoff for this angle? A WM match?! What will it be? The 2nd match on the card? The WM preshow match? There is no payoff other than getting sent to midcard hell where he will tag team with Chris Hero and call themselves the Midnight Muffin Stuffin Muffin Tops.
>>2096388
Your worthless paragraphs aside, there is only one reason why Owens' career is dying:
WWEs creative unable to or not allowed to book any type of heel aside from chickenshit.
It was really pathetic seeing Owens say a line and get 0 fucking reaction, then Jericho says the exact same line to big reactions. The reverse also happened as well with Jericho saying the line first and getting the reaction and the KO saying the same line after to 0 reaction.
>>2096397
It's directly proportionate to the weight of their careers and inversely proportional to their weights.
