> As noted, Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker is the current plan for one of the WrestleMania 33 main events.
> Despite the fact that Reigns will likely be booed out of the Camping World Stadium, Vince McMahon has reportedly wanted to do this match for some time. WrestleMania 33 may be the last big chance to do the match due to Taker's health.
Reigns eliminated Taker in this year's Royal Rumble match to set up their WrestleMania beef but The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that there is the idea of a generational passing of the torch being discussed, which may be hard to pull off with the expected crowd reaction to Reigns. That could indicate an official heel run for Reigns but The Observer notes that WWE's long-term goal is still for Reigns to be the face of the company.
> Regarding Taker's health, we noted before that he was said to be really hurting with hip pain after Sunday's Royal Rumble main event. Taker had hip surgery last fall but still needs a hip replacement surgery, which he's been putting off until his in-ring career is over.

Where were you in 2015? Everyone worth noting was injured at that time that they changed the entire card and HHH had to main event while they forced Roman to suffer into two meaningless reigns just so he could get his overdue Wrestlemania moment.
If a wrestler is injured, especially a top guy like Jasethy they obviously change plans. Obviously HHH will feud with someone else until Jasethy returns.

Injuries are common in wrestling, but the last 3 years or so have especially noteworthy.
It's WWE's own fault. They push too hard, and work their talent way too often, and it's only gotten worse in recent years.
If you're a top name full time WWE wrestler, you're wrestling about 5 times a week on average. There's TV, then there's PPVs, then there's house shows, then foreign tours, then special events, etc.
On top of all that the WWE will make you work even when you're hurt. Anything they think is not serious is something you can work with. CM Punk famously ranted about having to wrestle with a staph infection because of negligent WWE doctors (lawsuit pending).

Triple H got injured in 2007 before Wrestlemania 23.
John Cena got injured in 2016 before Wrestlemania 32 so they had Undertaker fight Shane McMahon.

I don't know shit about hip replacements or surgery for that matter, i am just a dumb 19 year old. But couldnt he have done that full hip replacement surgery when Brock beat him and then skip 31 and return for Battleground? Or hell, wouldn't a year between Manias be enough? Will he even be able to wrestle with a new hip or is that operation/surgery a definitive end for his career?
