Yeah, I was going to get one of those harness things from ruffwear but they're $80 and I have two dogs, one of which is only 2 months old

Nah, I tie her leash to the car and she runs along.
I got one of those elevated seats for small dogs for my rabbit, filled it half way with some hay and he just spends his time nesting. He'll rest his head on the side of it and stare out the window, but I always get scared that he'll jump to the front seat or something so I put a blanket over it, draping down from the back of the seat - it's like a small burrow.
Every time I start my Jeep she comes running. I use a harness that clips in to the seat belt.

Pretty hard to get her to the summer cottage without letting her. She also rode on my ATV until she got too fucking big to fit in front of me.

Those aren't stickers and I'm white I bought the van like that. And I got the dog from a shelter cause he was the only one that wasn't a chihuahua. You sir are disgruntled and unfriendly.

If I have an accident then maybe. I'm sure the risk would be considerably higher if I didn't use anything, not to mention my own safety. 60lbs of dog flying around inside my Jeep does not sound like a good time.
A pet carrier securely strapped down would probably be the absolute safest option for the dog.
The seat belt harness is much more convenient and practical. I don't believe riding around on back roads occasionally warrants much more precaution, but I'm fully aware the risk is always there.

yeah, my dog rides in the car. where else would he go?
he has a seatbelt and harness my mom bought him but I don't know how effective they would be in an accident, it mainly just keeps him from trying to get on the dashboard or my lap while I'm driving.
What kind of barbarian doesn't let their doggos have car rides? My boy loves sticking his head out the window. I know it's bad and you aren't supposed to but man he loves it.
Magnum likes to ride in the back
If we have him in the seats he has vietnam flashbacks and cries though
Anybody got any tips to help me with my dog? She gets nervous whenever she's in any car and will drool all over herself.
