My 1,5 month old cat still can't meow. Is this normal?

Some cats have vocal chords that are too tight.
Vocalizing is painful to them so they just wont ever do it. Even if they did, it's just a tiny squeak.

Don't worry, cats don't even need to meow.

I've known several cats that won't meow, only squeak or open their mouths to expel air without making a sound. My own cat has always been a quiet squeaker since she was just a bottle baby. It's not painful for her (she likes to try to talk a lot) and she's 4 years old now, never had any health issues. Wouldn't worry.

Cats stop eating when they don't feel well.

One of my cats meows once in a blue moon, but he clicks instead. Animals can be weird.

My cat has been meowing nonstop since day 1, which was 14 years ago. It's nice to have a talkative cat.
