If you bothered to watch the whole video other than skim through the main parts of it, you can see it immediately spit out the child instead of swimming off and eating her. Additionally there's no way it could see her until she sat down on the edge of the dock and until she sat down, the sea lion is obviously focusing its attention on the parents to the side, teasing it. Lastly, the second the girl sat down it clearly reacted immediately on an impulse, not displaying a second of calculation.

There is another explanation that is plausible. A sea lion was on this guys kayak. It got really confused because the guy wasn't eating fish, cause it figures if your cool you are going to eat like them. Any way it keeps bringing fish to the guy and almost panics because the guy isn't eating it.

I think this is built off the misunderstanding of the word colorblind. Humans are typically trichomates, having three types of color sensitive cells in our retinasay. A lot of people hear colorblind and think that means the animal sees in monochrome. Colorblind people are often annoyed by the assumption that they see in blank and white and have been"dog vision". So sea lions are most likely incapable of distinguishing red and green, or blue and purple, etc.,but still see in color.
