Shiba Inu Thread

My bf wants to get a shiba inu. Are they good for first time dog owners? We just moved in together and are getting our first dog. He wants to name it Bushido. Also are they good for apartments? We're not sure if ours allows dogs but it's should be okay as long as he's not obnoxious Lol

No. They have a lot of energy and can be difficult to keep calm and obedient.

Seconding. They're extremely stubborn and headstrong and they test the patience of even highly experienced dog owners. They need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation and they're cute as shit but can be SUCH DICKS.

Thirding. If you must get one as your first dog, I advise you do it after you've settled in. If you guys break up or find yourself too busy, this dog will become borde and destructive like any smart breed. These dogs are also like cats, so don't expect unconditional affection.

Get a Greyhound. They are couch potatoes and just want to chill.
