Alright so, i really wanna help out Siberian tigers and Amur leopards and a bunch of other animals and for a guy living in the UK it doesnt feel like i can do much other than donate and hope that the people at wwf arent gonna fuck me over. i just wanna help but i wanna know if wwf is credible in actually putting work towards helping endangered animals, i mean the organization is worth over 700million so what would they need my donations for?
is it all a scam or is the money you donate being put to good use? and has anybody here donated?
Bump, please
You don't really know what exactly you're donating too. They're often spread out. Such as, an ad guilting you over tigers and pandas will make people donate but people aren't going to if they advertised an uglier animal which is why all you usually see in ads are big cats, bears, whales and elephants.
If you want something more specific, consider looking for zoos with a breeding or rehabilitation program for the animals you want to donate too.

you could help in other non-monetary ways by raising awareness on social media or something? I also share your skepticism of the WWF.

In general, looking at a charity's tax returns (if they are a 501(c) 3 organization in the US, they have to release those) is a good idea. If you're interested in cats specifically, I'd advise you donate to Panthera instead. I'm doing my PhD on large carnivores and they do/support great work in science and conservation of wild cats

Fellow Britfag here. Dont donate there, to a charity concerned solely on which animals make the cutest toys.
I've been donating £5 a month to these guys. Look it up:

And to further my argument for EDGE, take a look at a list of the species they look out for and the media attention none of them get..
I donated to the wwf once.
They will send you free calendars for life. They send tons of mail filled with glossy, expensive marketing material.asking for more donation. Made me question how much of their donations actually go to the charity. In the future i plan on looking for other places to donate if i feel generous.
I once did some charity for wwf and collected money door to door. The company keeps a part of the money for its own bussiness and the rest goes to charity. The best way to help is to directly donate to non profit organisations although I am not sure how to do so.

Most nonprofits have info on their websites about how to donate to them.
Just look up nonprofits that work with something you care about, and when you make a donation, make sure to be specific about what you're donating to. Say something along the lines of "for _____ purpose only" so that it won't go into their administration or marketing budget.
