Love them, I have 2

ZEUS! APOLLO!
>>
>>2304057
Wonderful dogs. Unlike similar "hardcore, scary, guard" breeds, I don't meet many of these with glaring personality defects. They're all sweet and easy to deal with. I work at a vet clinic, so it's very nice to work with these dogs. Owners can be dickish, especially if they cut their dogs tails and ears off. Go kill yourself if you do that shit.

The European ones are good. The American ones tend to suck because of how breeders changed the breed in the states.
>>
>>2304627
I've noticed this too. Sweet dogs, but generally attract shitty owners
>>
>>2304634
>german shepherds
>best dogs
Yeah, if you like hip displasia, cancer, and unstable temperaments.
>>
>>2304735
not all gsds are bred in america m8
>>
That dilated cardiomyopathy, though. The cause of death for at least half of all Doberman Pinschers.

I'd take a case of known hip dysplasia and the possibility of spending 11 or 12 good years together anyway over a dog that has a 50/50 chance of carrying a ticking time bomb in its chest that'll strike it down in its prime.

Otherwise, pretty cool dogs.
>>
>>2304057
They are pit bulls
>>
>>2304057
Good doggos, i might get one myself in a few years.
>>2304627
Agreed, plus they look much better with natural ears and a whole tail.
>>
Evil dogs.

I went to a baby shower and one was running around. It was petted multiple times. I pet it and it viciously attacks me.

Like what?
>>
>>2304818

You mean you were nipped?
>>
>>2304818
Miniature Pincher detected.
>>
I like the less scary/known guard dogs. You get a Doberman/Rottweiler/German Shepherd, people know you're trying to be a bad ass regardless of the actual personality of the dog in question.

Giant Schnauzers/Chesapeake Bay Retrievers/Bouvier de Flanders, are just as protective, and good at IPO type stuff, but don't make you look like a wannabe badass.
>>
>>2304057
12/10 good dogs
>>
I don't trust dogs anymore. They have to prove that they are friendly, but I usually ignore them.

>>2304882
No, I have a scar on my left arm and underneath my right breast. They have faded with time, but this was not a playful nip.
The dog kept chasing me after I stopped petting it.
I didn't go to the emergency room, but I got my wound treated at a Redi-med along with a shot.

I heard the owner crying to my mother to not press charges to put it down and it hadn't happened before.

>>2304902
I don't know if you are calling me a mini pincher or the dog, but that dog was a Doberman.
>>
>>2304903
...

I got a GSD because I thought they were cute and fluffy looking.

How low is yours, if you've stopped caring about your appearance?

I want to protect an air of sophicated manliness. Rugged, but thoughtful. My dogs help push that image.
>>
>>2305421
>want to protect an air of sophicated manliness. Rugged, but thoughtful
Protip=the men that actually do this, aren't worried about the clothes they are wearing, or other peoples opinions about thier pets.
>>
>>2305425
>real men are slobs

Okay, good luck with life.
>>
>>2305464
>real men are slobs
If that is the extent of your reading comprehension then you have far more important things to worry about than your appearance.
>>
>>2305421
I honestly, truthfully recommend that you talk to someone to get checked for some mild disorder in the autistic spectrum.

10/10 with natural ears/tails, very good doggos
cropfags are degenerates though

>>2305509
you sound like the kind of person who gets laughed at a lot, i feel kinda bad for you
>>
>>2305421
>>2305425
rugged handsomeness comes from the fact that those men actualy do shit all day such as doing repairs, do physicaly demanding jobs, fight, etc., not going to the gym, making up an image of themselves and modifying their dogs like some misguided peacock
>>
>>2306074
>i don't understand what machismo is and thus use this weird romanticized version of what I think makes someone ruggedly handsome
Pro-tip, the guy that 'does repairs' (kek) and 'physically demanding jobs' and 'fights' (i bet a bar right? a seedy run down bar with a flicker fluorescent sign and folks just order 'beer' because they only stock one type?) is usually a string bean son of a bitch or chubby. As an aside my dad was a stereotypical rig pig and in his words the bar room heroes were almost always someone who boxed or kickboxed and lifted like a motherfucker.
You're either a woman or a man so estranged from machismo that you fall back to a commercial idealized version of a 'manly rugged handsome man'.

>>2306477
My dad is a 6'3" 250 lbs schizophrenic in a psychiatric prison.

Just saying.

I love my minipin
>>
When I stop living in an apartment I'll get one. Mostly because it fits the criteria of being very intelligent, strong and apt for hot climates. Probably going for a female because they're a bit smaller.
>>
>>2306533
My neighbor has one of those, he's a funny little fuck.
>>
>>2304091
Yes they are
>>
>>2304057
they use to have the same reputation as pit bulls never owned one tho
>>
>>2306840
I've never owned one either but I've met quite a few and each one of them has been totally cuddly and affectionate. They look scary and intimidating but they're giant babies who adore their families
>>
>>2306445
>Gotta look good so people think I'm cool
>"pushing my image"
>"machismo"
Literally a teenage girl trapped in a hairy fuckboi's body. You're on a whole 'nother plane of douchebaggery. Itty bitty boba tea balls and an eggshell ego.
>>
Natural doberman masterrace
>>
>>2307374
Why do they cut their tails and fix their ears, anyway?

Never understood that. It's like circumcision. Unnecessary mutilation that doesn't serve any purpose beyond a fashion statement.

Buy a gun.

On an unrelated note
>A friend of ours had a Doberman as a pet, she had a completely unexpected domestic dispute with someone she knew and trusted for many years - her Doberman turned on to the attacker.

Fucking lol
>>
Do you guys feel weird when you asked to dock their tails and crop their ears?

Just wondering if anyone ever gave you criticism for it because there are not real health benefits for Dobermans to have that done to them. It makes them look cool (which I want a doberman to look like), but I know people will be upset about anything these days.
>>
>>2307566
Cropped ears are useful though. Their full ears are very sensitive and can get easily infected. Don't take advice from these stupid fur fetishits around here.
>>
>>2307573
Do you have a source for that? I've been looking for more pro-cutting documents.
>>
>>2307424
Nothing wrong with cropping the ears if its professionally done, cutting off apart of an animals spine on the other hand is fucked.
