Stop all foreign aid to Africa/SE Asia. Stop the ballooning overpopulation crisis in the third world, and entirely remove the demand and capabilities of the bushmeat industry. Ban deforestation and industrial encroachment into new territory, and fuck China UP if it tries to buy up the African rainforest.
That's what needs to be done to save primates (amongst innumerable other things) - just how it all gets achieved is up for debate (and currently nigh-impossible, in our politically-correct and money-hungry world).

Most people, including most environmentalists, aren't willing to uproot their own comfortable status quo to such a degree. Our consumerist society has turned us all into cucks when it comes to the environment.
