Raccoons are such strange creatures because I feel compelled to both pet them and gun them down simultaneously
Help! I accidentally cut myself while browsing this thread. Do I have rabies now?
Sleeping raccoon
Working at a pet store and someone brought in a pet raccoon. It was wearing a harness. The guy said I could hold it so when I reached to et it, and it grabbed me with its little people hands. I don't know what I thought raccoons had, but the hands surprised me. It was too cute.
Anyway, the coon was totally chill and liked holding my hands. I would still be hesitant about owning one though.

I've read that if you have one that likes people, they're decent pets, but you pretty much have to nurse it from a baby for that. Also they can't really be vaccinated for rabies. Don't know if that's true.
There's a ton of them on Mount-Royal. What's funny is almost everyone is petting them while it's clearly written in many languages that it's forbidden to do so.
Would post a pic, but it's over the size limit...

It's not.
Any vet could order the meds in and give it to your raccoon.
The thing with raccoons is I've heard they're destructive af. If you keep it indoors prepare to have your floors and walls scratched to oblivion.

If they are like pretty much every other exotic mammal, the rabies vaccine may or may not work on them, and in the case of it biting someone legally it is considered non vaccinated.
