i bought seeds for a black rose, and so I'd like to grow a desk plant. What type of desk pot would you recommend? would you recommend getting a Hydroponic Lamp and plant food? pretty much how can i make this plant look bad ass on my desk?
>>
Lots of pruning and a lamp brighter than what you originally thought.
>>
You can't grow a black rose, anon. You've been duped. Roses don't even grow in singles.

True, it's not -completely- black, but it's such a dark pigmented purple that without good lighting you really can't tell that it's not.
>>
Roses grow as bushes. Would be pretty hard/not practical to do on your desk.

Is there a thing as bonsai roses?
>>
If you want badass, then get something that isn't basically a goth peach.

Orchids are cooler and require about the same airflow.
It needs light that will hurt at a desk, with a 12-14 hour cycle. It likes slightly acid soil, so like water it with a grass clipping tea, or oak leaves in clean water for a day or so.

There's bonsai everything, but flower size is like dick size, basically genetic. So taking regular roses into that form makes a dwarf with a horsecock. And he won't have enough blood to carry that around without wilting bad.

>What type of desk pot would you recommend?

One located outside. Preferably buried in the ground and munched over during the winter.
>>
>i bought seeds for a black rose
You got taken. Roses only reliably reproduce themselves through cuttings. Very few "fancy" Rose varieties produce hips, and the seeds will not give you a rose just like its parent.

You got duped.
>>
what do you guys think about a lotus? is that possible?

wow anon

You can start planting easy things that will flower quickly on your desk. Small annual flowering plants and the like.

Or you could plant some other simple stuff like basil or chili, pretty easy with enough light. Might look weird in an office though.

Many succulents would also be easy on a desk. Aloe, Kalanchoe, Dorstenia maybe, Sedum is definitely easy.

On top of that, there are no true black roses. Those are all photoshopped.
There some really dark red roses, like Black Baccara, Black Beauty, Black Prince, Eddy Mitchell but that's the closest they get to black.
