Sorry for the shitty picture but does anyone know what kind of animal this is? I work at a school and some kids were huddled around it and it had its head buried in the dirt so I moved it somewhere safer

It kind of looked like a rat but it was a bit chubbier. It doesn't have skin on its tail either. I live in flagstaff AZ if that helps. I tried looking it up but all I could find were pest control sites

I can't tell what's going on in your pic, but your description sounds like a pack rat.

It didn't have whiskers and was a lot softer looking though. Also it was really small, a little smaller than the palm of my hand not counting fingers

Hey /an/, a question for you.
Does anyone have any ideas for homemade modifications of a guinea pig enclosure? We have ours set as pic related but we're trying to find a way to cover his cage door so his feet don't get caught going in and out. He slips too much on the cardboard to use that.

Add some high grit sand paper to the cardboard

>>2008548
Top right, you can't see it in the picture.

>>2008557
Wouldn't that hurt his feet? I was thinking of using popsicle sticks on the cardboard.

So, 4 years ago I moved to an appartment in another city with a friend, and I left my cat in my house because my friend doesn't like cats. I visit her (my cat) every once in a while.

Now I'm moving to a loft alone and I can take her there. The thing is, I don't know what to do. I mean, I really want to take her there but she have been living in that house for four years now and she's used to get outside and I think she might suffer in a loft without a big garden.

Do you think it's a good idea to take her with me? Or should I just leave her at my parent's house and get a baby cat that grows up in a small place?

Pls stahp. Take it with you. Indoor cat is only cat.

>Pls stahp. Take it with you. Indoor cat is only cat.
It's what I plan to do but I have seconds thoughts because of that, if that's not a problem I'll take her.

Any good advice on what I can put there so she won't suffer a lot the change? The place is almost 100 m2 big and has a really small patio I was thinking I could put some plants so she can see some green.
>>
>>2007343
That's a small space for a cat, but it could work if you play with her a lot.

Bonus points if it's your pet.
Extra bonus points if you greentext some shit that the pet did.

>Be me.
>Also be Lilly, the Nazi.
>Call her The Nazi because she's white and has blue eyes.
>Also probably has some german sheepkeeper on her, but that's not important.
>One day i'm walkin around with her, i'm on my bike and she's trying to run as fast as she can.
>Obviusly cant keep up with her and she ends up doing pretty much all the moving job.
>She suddenly wants to pee.
>She wants to pee so much that she stops.
>AnchorDog.mov
>Bike stops with everything.
>If she wasn't using a pectoral collar she would be dead.
>I'm not so lucky.
>flys from the bike.
>Literally can hear "I believe i can fly".
>Hit the ground, get up and get to the bike as fast as i can.
>Act like never happened.
>Never walk with Lilly alone again.

I still love her though.

Does nerve damage get worse?

I adopted a feral kitten that got fucked up along the way or was born that way (I think born that way because his eyes are fucked too)

He twitches in his back legs a lot seemingly at random. The examination as the humane society said probable nerve damage. It's livable and not really problem but I'm worried that it could get worse later in life. He's about 3 months old right now.

Anyone know anything?

I'm a poor college student who wants a small companion pet. Thinking about getting a hamster.

What breed would you recommend? Or is it even worth it getting a hamster?
23 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>2006937
Depends on what you want in that small companion. Hamsters are generally more 'look, no touch' pets-can be pretty ornery. Rats are usually better because they enjoy seeing their owners and spending time with them if you get a pair from a good breeder that handraised them. Mice are also pretty chill with a bit of patience, and easy to take care of as well. Can be held and such, but don't get quite as excited or happy as rats. More just want to wonder around a bit and aren't so content to chill on your shoulder.
>>
>>2006941
I've definitely thought about rats since they're so intelligent. I just don't have the space for a large enough habitat for two of them, and would feel guilty keeping only one since they're so social. The hamster I had as a little kid was always pretty friendly. But then again, I spent tons of time taming and playing with it.
>>
>>2006949
Well if you think you can make a hamster friendly, go for it. But really, rats don't need a big cage. A regular bird cage would work for two if you are going to take them out for a few hours when you get home.

Or mice are good too.

Reptile owners, do you ever kiss your pet? Not full on French kissing, mind you, more like little pecks on the head. What is your limit?
Pic related, one of my Beardies. I refrain from kissing them when they shed.
