I would like to hear from people that have a French bulldog. My wife bought one and is going to pick it up Saturday.
Its AKC registered.4 months old. She paid $1.600 for it.
Now we have had a English bulldog that died of old age at the beginning of summer. It had skin and hip issues and respiratory problems at the end and cost a shit load at the vets but the money is not the problem it was the struggle keeping him healthy.
Now she assured that her dogs (breeders) have been check for hip displacement and spine compression and not had much if any skin issues or breathing problems.
What I want to know is how are they as far a behavioral problems, intelligents etc.
>picture semi related.

This is all lies and complete horseshit. As a puppy, yes it may have very few issues. But give it time.

The puppy's have not been checked the breeding pair (parents) have.
>>
>What I want to know is how are they as far a behavioral problems, intelligents etc.
those are questions you should have asked the breeder.

I'm bored.
I've got here a tennis ball inside a sock. I'm going to go out into the alley and throw it into the air until a bat flies into it; then I will capture the bat (of course using precautions to not get rabies like an idiot) and take pictures of it before releasing it.
Tell me why this is a bad/good idea.

>>
Thats a fucking retarded idea on every possible level.
Why would you think smashing a tiny animal out the the air with a ball wouldnt hurt it? Also why would you even think you'd be able to hit one doing that?
>>
>>2016294
They fly right into them. Echolocation. They think it's a bug or something. can do the same thing with a wiffle ball on a string or a tennis racket, but that sounds more cruel to me.
>>
Make sure to fill it with nails, tie off the tail of the sock so they don't fall out. This will work a lot better.

People might dismiss this one for being an obvious lion victory, but cassowaries are not things to be messed with. If it got a good start, that lion's dead.

My cat was making pained noises trying to clean something near her tail, she finally let me take a picture of it and it looks like sort of serious lesion, does anyone have any idea what it could be? My room-mate says I should wash it with alchohol but Im worried that could make it worse, should I take her to a vet pronto?

Infected cyst from a cat fight
Go to the vet and have them lance it and give your cat antibiotics
Don't wait or it might become bloodborne

Op reporting in, did that, they drained it and gave me antibiotics to give her. She has a cone now but I think she's feeling better. Thanks /an/

Assuming it's not because of lack of bite inhibition (if it is, I can't help you. I have a year old cat that still fucks me up because it left it's mom and siblings too soon) I would say get him a bunch of different chews. Antlers, bones, ropes, doggy teethers, whatever, and see if he likes those any better than your hand. If not, the dog trainer I trained under would fucking screech when a dog would bite or scratch her to 'train' the dog that it's not ok. I'll be honest, I've yet to see that work and it just sets off my anxiety, but it's worth a shot. Since the chew object is you, you could also use a deterrent like a squirt bottle and squirt him when he gets rough, just to get him off of you. Don't try this for anything else, though, because the dog will learn it's ok to chew on something when you aren't around. Of course, doing things unnecessary that would cause him to bite (like rough housing and hand playing) should simply cease.

I would say a mixture of distraction (water bottle), redirection and getting him to calm down via training should all be used whenever he bites. This will last throughout teething stage. Good luck

The poor bunny died today what should i do?

How many hobo/stray animals are you feeding right now?

I'm pretty rural and I have about 5 regulars that show up every day to be fed with my outside barn cats.

Half of the stray ones are basically feral and won't let me get within 3 feet of them. The others probably belonged to someone in the past because they are very tame. I feel bad for them. We go through 25# cat food a week.

People dump and drop off their unwanted animals out here all the time.

Pic related is one that I'm trying to work with at the moment. I call him Spizzy. He lets me get close but he still won't let me pet him.

Why is it called the White-necked Crow? Its neck is not white and it's not like there was a shortage of distinctive characteristics. Its irises are red. That’s relay rear in members of the Corvus genus. They should call it the Red-eyed Crow and if there is already a Corvid called that then they should call it the Red eyed Raven.

If it survives tell your sister to give the dog to a shelter so someone responsible can take care of it.

>ITT pets you want but can't have

I've wanted a large parrot all my life, extensively researched them, worked with some and even very temporarily came under care of a few(owners went away, 3rd party for adoption processes/rehoming for people, etc). But I could never live the rest of my life with the noise. I'd fucking kill it.

I've wanted to work with parrots in a shelter or foster home situation but there aren't any shelters in Louisiana that I can find. I'm like you. I don't think I could be a permanent home for a large parrot. I'd like to try dealing with an African Grey in particular after reading some stuff by Irene Pepperburg.
>>
I've yet to have any pets of my own (I'm excluding family pets growing up). I'm waiting until I'm in a secure position to take care of them properly.

I'd love to have rats, dogs, do beekeeping, keep chickens, an aquarium, turtles/tortoises, maybe hermit crabs again. All sorts.
>>
>>2018224
Rats are great. I was sold two small rats but they were large when they got older. Kept em in a 100 gallon tank. My big boy would jump up out of the tank and balance on the edge and wait for me to get close enough and start licking my face and then sleep on my shoulder. The girl got pregant and got out and hid her babies under my dresser but I put her back in and she was fine. One day I found a field mouse pinky. Put it in my rat cage thinking they would end him quickly but the mother brought it to her pinkies and the mouse fed and grew up with them. One day I left my window open and it had no screen and my big boy fell out. I was heart broken. he was already nearing 3 years. I'm just sitting in my room months later and he slowly walks into my room and up into my bed. I was so happy. He was thin though. He ate some food and drank some water. I wake up and he's dead. They are amazing if you spend time handling them often.

Also had mice when me and my bro were very young. Forgot about them in there critter trail cage and look at it one day and see they're all dead and they ate each other's brains. One lonely mouse in its nest balled up waiting to die. Me and my bro freaked out and got him some water and food and in a day he was up and running and lived a full life.

We lived in the woods in a shit house with shit parents if anyone was wondering how all this happened.
