How can my cat be smart enough to open locked doors but not be smart enough to not get his head stuck over and over in a paper bag's handles?
>>2055715
Because opening a door doesn't have much downside risk: car falls back to floor with door unopened. But the bag handles? Once they are over the cat's head/neck, the solution is not obvious to your cat.
Sup everyone. So my eastern rosella is bit sick and seems to be in pain so i went to local pet store and they told me to give him some paracetamol (tylenin). But after googling a bit i found some sites that are saying its poisonous. Should i give it to him?

I don't know but I'm inclined to trust internet a lot more than some random pet store employee.

cats all same. size no difference.
Would it be okay to post a gofundme link to save my girlfriend's cat?
The cat is black and named raven. She's just turned 1 year old and she has cancer
Will post pics but black cats are hard to take good pictures off

You should probably read the FAQ too while you're at it, new friend.

not op, but are you autistic? op is not advertising anything, he/she is just asking for advice.
to answer op, yes, you could, but that would be the least efficient way to help your cat, ask a friend or a family member, or sell you vehicle
Hi, I didn't know whether this belongs here or in /out/, sorry for the inconvenience.
These two guys popped up in my garden three days ago and I wanted to know whether they're edible, and if so, any good.
Out of focus, sorry, but here's a closer look
btw, location is Buenos Aires, Argentina (South America). It's summer and there hasn't been any rain for at least a week and a half. Why did they appear just now?
looks like Macrolepiota sp.
some species are edible.
Oh, and I took a quick look at the "edible mushrooms" wiki page and they look similar, albeit smaller, to the ones on the right here.
>>2055570
any way to find out which species this is?
Why is the community on this board such shite ?
Peolpe who talk about spiders and reptiles are mostly nice folk, but for fucks sake people who talk about dogs/cats form a worser community than /b/. why are you a shit person anon ?
they suffer the consequences of toxoplasmosis.

is it pronounced buggy or bug guy
>>2057250
it's dutch
it's pronounced BOO-GWAY
Let's honor our companions by reliving memorable moments that are fond to you, even if others won't think anything of it.
This dog was always an undisciplined disaster. My wife raised him as a best friend before we got together, so we always kept him leashed when walking outside.
One day I took him to a huge church parking lot with a pocket full of treats (to get him to come back to me) and just let him take off on his own. It was the first time he'd been that free, and probably the greatest walk he ever had. Just an hour of his 1 floppy ear blowing in the wind. He slept for about 8 hours after that.
Had to put him down last year. A tumor or such in his nose. Probably cancer (the vets all thought so) but even a biopsy couldn't find it. He was 9 years old, which was a bit on the early side for his mix.
I never realized just how horribly we spoil our pets when the end is near. Steak every night, sleeping in the master bed, etc.
ok, ill play
>Be me
>Be about 11 years old
>My life long best friend is a GSD that we had since before I was born
>She would follow me around 24/7 except from when I was at school
>Most loyal dog I have ever seen
>Probably smarter than me as well
>She would actually function as my baby sitter when my parents were gone
>Still best friends forever
>Play together all the time
>Neither of us was ever seen without the other
>Every single day when I got home from school she would wait for me right next to the road on our property
>Never once went outside that invisible property line by herself
>One day she wasn't there
>I got inside, couldn't find her enywhere
>Turns out my dad shot her with his revolver because she was old and in pain
>I found out when I called my mother on the phone because I was terrified something had happened to her
>They never even bothered to tell me so that I could say goodbye
>Parents had told both my sisters in advance
>I was the only one who didn't know
>Probably the best thing to do for her, but 100% emotional pain anyways
>Bury her on a nice spot at the property
>Her own tomb stone and everything
>Some years later I get into the fine art of shooting
>Dad gives me his revolver since he never uses it himself
>15 years later
>Still miss that dog every day
>Still think of all the nice moments we had whenever I bring that revolver to the range
>Still hurts

Damn, the only thing I want is a another GSD even if it could never be as awesome as the one I grew up with
Hey /an/ do you have some kind of website/book/whatfuckingever that you point newfags to, regarding taking care and training doges ?
I would like to get a corgi later and train it for working in Security but I have never properly trained my dogs and I should probably get my shit together with the next one.
here you go: www.google.com

If you're serious about learning how to be a proper animal trainer, read Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor. Despite the title, it's not specific to dogs but is more of a training textbook. Every professional trainer I know swears by it.
After you read this, THEN read some specific dog training and care books (maybe other anons can suggest some good ones because I can't think of any right now). But Don't Shoot the Dog is basically the Bible for learning the fundamental principles of training.
Hello /an/
This is my girlfriend's cat. Me being allergic I shouldn't be coexisting with it in the same flat, but I'm feeling fine. We did some research on hypoallergenic cats and we found that she looks just like a Russian Blue cat and it really made sense. We're looking for an expert opinion on the matter. Is she a pure breed or not? Thanks in advance.
Here are some more pics.
>looks just like a Russian Blue
>has brown eyes not green
no she doesn't, and no she's not
My dog is interesting... -.-

she was not happy about this
What is a good plant to put in my tank that guppy fry can hide in so only some of them get eaten?
>>2055326
Picea pungens
A plant isn't enough to save them all, you should relocate them.
>>2055331
>Picea pungens
So put a blue spruce in a tank. lol i bet you are trolling
Hey /an/ i have a 20 gallon long. What are some cool animals i can keep in it
Fish
>>2055313
Already have threw fiah tanks
>>2055310
Small rodents are a possibility.
One more question even though my guppy fry have ick will the fish eating them catch it?
>>2055302
not if you cook the guppies first.
Fish that stop eating when they're full and that will eat like half my guppy fry. I need a fish or some fish that will slowly pick off my guppies. But that won't decimate the fry population. Sorry for starting a new thread. I guess.
Eat them yourself.
>Sorry for starting a new thread. I guess.
what's this, number six?
>>2055296
69, faggot
I need some ideas on how to induce natural selection to my guppy tank. I have 35 guppy fry and I need to kill some off so only the strongest and most intelligent survive.
I would use a predator but it doesn't seem like a good idea for fear of killing all my fish.
Something like a goldfish maybe ? To just eat a couple of the fry but maybe not always eat them
>>2055256
Induce competition through scarcity
>>2055256
No, bad idea. Goldfish are poop machines, and they grow huge. They really are more a pond fish than anything else.
I would instead go to the store and buy the betta with the largest/heaviest fins you can find. That way only the slowest/most stupid fry will get eaten.
I would also get some java moss, tie it to a rock or whatnot, and with every water change gently comb it out with a smooth wide toothed comb. That way the individual strands become long and bushy so there is a shit ton of hiding places within it for the fry.
I would also get a broad leafed fairly tallish plant for your betta to rest on when near the surface. Lugging around those massive fins takes a lot out of a fish.
