Are there any animals more boring than bivalves?
>no discernible features besides a primitive "foot"
>basically just a blob of innards and muscle
>fairly immobile

At least stuff like sea sponges have crazy regeneration abilities. Convince me that bivalves are cool, /an/.

Has anyone ever bought live animals from supermarkets and kept them as pets? I feel bad for them due to their living environment and want to get some nice big fish for cheap.
24 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
I'm sure thousands, perhaps millions of people have done it.

But by doing it, you're supporting the industry. You're giving the shopkeeper more money to get more fish and subject them to conditions you yourself feel are inadequate.

Moral grey area really.

my dog of 18 years died recently, and I really want a new one. I have no idea what breed I should get. I want low maintenance on grooming, but I'm fine with having to walk the dog often. Medium sized is best and no breed that looks disabled. What do you recommend?

Pic kinda related, I like the idea of a shiba inu

How can I get my friend to forgive me after I forgot to feed his dog for him while he was on vacation and it died?

If I were him, I wouldn't forgive you for several years, and even then wouldn't trust you around my animals ever again AND to top it off I would tell anyone looking for a dog sitter that you're a forgetful fuck that let my animals die and I wouldn't recommend you to anyone.
You're a shitty friend.

I guess you could do the clam shell game where you hide a treat in one of your hands and try to make them guess which ones. other than that, not really no

Hey Guys. Got drunk and bought a microscope.

It claims it can go up to 1000x magnification, but I'm a bit incredulous about that...

Anyway. Taking requests.

I didn't realise it wouldn't come with slides, so cellular level stuff is kinda limited, but I'll pick some up as soon as possible.

The Anther of a Gravilia flower with a lump of pollen on the end.

Why is it always like this?
Why can't it ever be a relaxing game of fetch?

Bad training. Fetch has rules. Your dog doesn't know them.

Teach your dog 'leave it'. Look up youtube vids, he'll pick it up in less than ten minutes if you have a good treat ready, like chicken breast.

What's the best parrot species to start out with? I want to eventually own other birds like a conure or Senegal, and maybe a cockatoo if I was in a position where I could properly care for one
37 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Nothing will prepare you for a cockatoo except a cockatoo. While parrots in general are a big responsibility, I would never recommend any 'cockatoo' species to anyone except cockatiels. Really, OP. Yeah theyre cute and funny in some videos but even experienced, long time parrot owners tend to avoid them because they are a huge hassle.
Senegals are a no-go if you plan on owning any other birds in the future, and they tend to be violent towards other animals as well. Some are 'ok' with it but it's not a risk you should take, and it would not be fair to force it.

Conures(particularly green cheeks, but i have known some relatively quiet sun conures) are a good 'beginner' parrot if you're looking for larger parrots in the future. While they aren't that much of a hassle, I still see them as a sort of in between when it comes to responsibility and care. You can also leave them for a few hours without them losing their fucking minds. Caiques are also great, lovely, funny guys from what I hear but I do not have personal experience with them.

Here's an example of a green cheek and just how interactive and playful they can be. While they may not look as impressive as a bigger parrot, the small/medium ones tend to be more playful like this. Ignore the weird parts where he is touching under the tail.. Do not do that.

And here is a caique having a good time.

you don't really start out with parrots, as they all live a really long time.

I was wondering if chicken are birds or animals? I mean sure they got feathers and stuff so they are similar to birds. But they cannot fly, so they can't be birds I guess. So they are probably animals.
