Borzoi are adorable

I'd love to own either a Borzoi saluki or Italian greyhound in the future
>>
Shame they only live 7-10 years

That's potentially half the span of a different breed

Hey /an/.
I'm thinking about picking up a 20 gallon long aquarium from a friend [pic related]. He recently upgraded and no longer needs the tank. Included will be a ~$40 heat mat and some other reptile accessories.

Any ideas on what I should put in there? I'm open to fish too, just trying to decide between a reptile, fish, or some other pet.

Wattlebird. You can identify the species more precisely by any splashes of color on his 'cheek's / tail. If plain it's probably a Little Wattlebird.

There's a carpark near the river here, where one of these little guys will swoop down and check your windscreen and mirrors for cobwebs / bugs. Still not sure if it's the same one each time or if a common learned behavior.

Hi /an/. I do regular outdoor service work in a certain area and as such have gotten to know a lot of the neighborhood's people and pets over the years. One cat in particular is super friendly and loving to me and always comes trotting excitedly over to me if she's outside when my car pulls up.

I've seen her a few times now since the snow melted and she seems to be in pain. She was always vocal but now she really yowls, especially when she scratches at her ears - which she does a lot. One day I noticed she'd scratched one until it bled inside. I mentioned it to the owner and said she might have mites, and he kind of blew it off with a "she's getting really old" (she's probably 10ish) and said he'd have to get her a flea collar (he's said this many times over the years but never actually does it). He's a friendly guy but is dim-witted and poor, probably never taken any of his 4 animals to the vet. It's been about a month since we spoke and she hasn't improved.

Is there anything I can do to help this poor creature myself? I've tried to get a look in her ears at what's wrong, but she doesn't let me touch them for long and it's difficult to see anything since she's all black. They feel kind of dry and scaly inside. Is there a way for a layperson to distinguish between mites and infections?

Play to his guilt anon. Show him the cat is scratching till it's bleeding and it just ain't right. Infact it's animal abuse and you can get him in trouble with the authorities if he doesn't fix it.
>>
Go steal yourself a cat, Anon.
>>
Ask the guy if you can take the cat to the vet or if you can have the cat in general. Also, you could just get some ear mite meds over the counter at a pet store

probably mostly desensitization. So they are exposed to small scary things, and calmed, to show the things are actually not scary, and then it is built up to bigger and scarier things.

I will tell you that you should feed a staple diet of commercial pellets supplemented with whatever's best for that species. Regardless of what you feed as a staple, you NEED to supplement their diet with fresh shit just like any other animal. If you're not capable of directing yourself to austin's turtle page via a basic google search to find the rest of what you need, you're probably too incompetent to care for them in the first place.

Did stygimoloch had feathers or not? I mean is there any evidence?
I need to draw him for job but dont want to make anyone butthurt because its one of my favorite dinosaurs and i prefer oderl picrelated version YET i also want him be closer to realistic version.
But i see some DA-tier artists draw him in feathers.
I couldn't find any articles that saying this species having feathers...So...
I guess its ok don't draw feathers on Stygimoloch/Pachy line?

There's no reason to think they had feathers unless the fuzz on Kulindadromeus is homologous to bird feathers.

So far the evidence is leaning towards it not being.

Are Camas (a hybrid between a male dromedary camel and a female llama) sterile?

From what I've read nobody has actually tried yet but diploid chromosome number of 2n=74, so theoretically they might not be sterile like most hybrids?

>>
What purpose do they serve?
>>
>>2086157
>The aim was to create an animal capable of higher wool production than the llama, with the size and strength of a camel and a cooperative temperament.
>Much like camels, camas are herbivores that eat shrubs and other plant matter. They can drink large amounts of water at a time, then survive with little or no water for long periods.
> He was also a behavioral disappointment, displaying an extremely poor temperament. A more recent story suggests that his behavior is generally more gentle, as was hoped for.

According to wiki there's only like five of them so they're way too new to see much what they are looking for. They also have cloven hooves more than to of a llama than camels, so that may also help in getting around rougher terrain.

And OP why are you asking this question? No one is going to know for sure until they try. Also like mules, not all of them are sterile despite having a different number of chromosomes. Mare mules have been known to be able continue to breed. This also goes for horse-zebra hybrids, not sure about donkey-zebra hybrids though. Some cattle(like bison and our taurine cattle) can also interbred and be fertile(though it's more successful when they breed them back and fourth).

tl;dr No one will know until they try.

My aloe Marty has lost three of his lower limbs in the past year. They seem to kind of rot away at the joint and become so loose they're easily detached. What am I doing wrong? Is the dirt too high? Too much water? Please help, he is family.

I need advice /an/

One of our neighboors roosters had flewn over our fence two days ago and it is refusing to leave. It has the most shrill voice you can imagine, and he's been screaming right under my fucking bedroom window every single day from 3AM to 9AM without pause. At this point, I'm ready to maim somebody.

What am I supposed to do with it? I don't even know which fence to threw it over, if I even caught it. Literally all of our neighbors have these pests- it could be anyone's. Can't I just snap it's neck and threw it in the garbage?

just chase it out in the street or throw it over a fence at random you fukkin tard
>>
>>2085627
just chop its head off and have a nice dinner ya idiot

Just put it in your front yard. Its not your responsibility and its their fault it got out. If you are kind, you could go door to door and ask, but the easiest thing to do is just put it in your front yard and hope it works itself out.

Are oral flea/tick tablets okay?

Cat and dog question I guess. We used to give our labrador Comfortis after giving up on that Revolution stuff you put on their necks. She used to get fleas really bad from lying under the house. New dog, same story.

Found a couple of fleas on our five month old kelpie, went to go order some Comfortis online and a bunch of people complaining "my cat/dog died of liver failure" in the reviews.

Any recommendations? What flea treatments do you use on your pets?

>>
I use trifexus for my dogs, never had any problems
>>
How about instead of poisoning your dog you just give it regular baths you fucking degenerate.

Those posts about liver failure is no fucking joke. Some dogs are deathly allergic to the chemicals. Some aren't. If you don't care about if your dog dies so you don't have to give it a bath because you're a lazy fuck then go ahead. Poison your dog. You're the only person who is going to care at the end of the day.

I live in a small apartment. 36 square meters, in the middle of the city.

I'm very experienced with cats, think I could provide and take care of a kitty very well. I work from home too so it wouldn't be a lonely kitty.

Only concern of course is the small apartment space. Primarily due to cats being so excessively curious, and wanting to explore the area around them. So my fear is that every time I open the front door the cat tries to escape and then makes me chase after it, hiding under cars and stuff. Same for windows.

Is there any way around this issue?

Make use of vertical space to keep kitty happy.
>>
don't open the door when the cat is close to it. get screens for your windows.
