Can someone give me some advice on how to introduce my kitten to my two dogs, I can't help but feel like they think it's a toy.

Keep the kitten in a carrier and let the dogs get used to her scent and appearance.

Take the doggies out for a walk or to the park, and let them expend as much energy as possible

When they get back home, let the kitty out but keep her in your arms. Let your doggos inspect her. If they seem calm, (hopefully by now you can tell if your dogs are distressed or not) set the kitty on the floor and keep a watchful eye. This is what I did when I introduced my 13 week old kitty to my two dobermans and my gf's pomeranian. The female doberman is now best friends with the kitty

Carefully. Always supervised. A well understood "leave it" or "no" command is strongly advised. My mom used the term "baby" anytime she introduced a new animal into the household. The older animals were trained to be protective and non confrontational of any animal designated "baby". Worked too. We kept ducks and rabbits in the backyard, and also several dogs, several cats (yes, I lived in a zoo, but I only have 1 pet fish as an adult). At the height of insanity, there were 7 cats, 5 dogs, 11 rabbits, 3 ducks and multiple aquariums. There were never any pet or pet aggression issues. My mom may have been insane, but she did know how to train animals. And yes, our house smelled like disgusting. She also smoked inside. OMG, I'm so glad that I'm an adult and don't have to put up with that shit anymore.

The irony is an actual velociraptor might have actually not been a horrible pet.

I'd probably get the killing claws dulled down though.

I recently got my first reptile pet. He's a beardy named Dexter (pic related). I feed him regularly and his lighting seems at the right temp. The problem is that he keeps glass dancing (scratching at the glass). I'm pretty sure he wants out, and whenever I hold I hold him at my computer desk, he wants to jump out of my hands onto the floor. I want to let him walk around but I'm afraid I'll lose him because he is still a small baby beardy. Any advice?

Put him down. He has Reptile Dysfunction.

From what I understand that's just normal behavior. Post a pic of your setup

Who's elses pet just died on them? But not in a calm way, but like their head was ripped the fuck off with their brains splattered everywhere. This is the third time this has happened, and its really fucking irritating.

Well my dog died almost exactly one year ago. His name was prince. He got run over by a van. Blood and parts everwhere. American Eskimo Dog. :(

This is my worst fear. My pets have only died silently and it still rips me apart.

It really makes me sad :(

What would happen if I had a 2 acre pond and I put a single fish in it and just fed the hell out of it?

Would it grow to be some sort of record setting monster?

Possibly, but what kind of fish?
>>
>>2113341
I was thinking a bream.

The record is only 5 lbs

>>2113319
A bird would probably eat it, or some other critter.

Cute peachy cat

Idk if this is the right place to post this, but I just got the random urge to get into gardening (or some sort of plant-related learning activity) as a side hobby - way better than owning a pet. Pets will abandon you and get hit by cars. Plants? Plants are friends forever.

Anyways I know jack shit about plants and also live in an apartment in the middle of a city several stories up. How can someone like me get into small-time casual gardening?

Put onion bulb on a water jar, so it's not soaked, only root part is, add water every day, change water frequently, harvest leek.
>fun
buy a goldfish bowl, don't harass goldfishes with the tiny fucking bowl, but plant some cute water moss instead.

My cat has been starting to eat weird things. He's been trying to eat the bits of carpet that he rips off when he scratches his cat tree and eating the tags off my electronics (like he chewed off and then tried to eat the tag tied around my fan wire) Has he developed pica for some reason? Since he's not allowed outside and can't eat grass does he want more fiber or something?

Try giving him some wheat grass or bringing him to a vet. Might be a stomach, nutritional, or neurological issue

I probably should have clarified, my dog don't bark but are deathly fucking afraid of fireworks and thunder, to the point that they've broken down gates out of fear.

I dunno. Never seen him fight. I imagine they all team up on him at once though.
>>
>>2112809
Actually my moms dog is terrifying. He's a mix. Chihuahua so he's a bigger and muscular. He runs out of the dark without barking and jumps right over them and then herds them off into the woods. All you here is his nails hitting the concrete as he runs in the pitch black.

TEMPTATIONS!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!!!

Stick with your original plan bud. These are the two possibilities:

1) You jump the gun and get the two shepherds. Your financial hardships are worsened because now youa have TWO dogs instead of the original one you planned (unless 2 was the plan all alomg), and you got them before you were financially ready. And even though they go to a doggy day care, that is no guarantee that they are good dogs for you or are what you are looking for in a dog besides being shepherds.

Or

2) stick to your plan, save up your dough and work with a good shelter that will take time with you on finding the right dog for you and will ideally havr resources for you to use both before and after adoption to help with the transition.

One has much higher risk without guarentee of a good dog, while the other has much less risk with a higher chance of getting the right dog for you
>>
>>2112983
I know, it's just SOOO tempting. But I ain't doing it, because 2 is the option I have to do for my current dog.
>>
You might be able to put a hold on them by putting some money down. That's what I did to reserve my GSD mix since I couldn't take him home until after I moved. I payed his adoption fee and the adoption agency kept him for me for 2 or 3 months. I may have gotten special consideration since the adoption people knew me though.
