What type of spider is this? Sorry these are the best photos I can get. I live in central Texas.
The legs are hairy and it has a big black mouth(?) that looks like boxing gloves. Seems smaller than a Hobo Spider though(?)
Also I've seen a bunch of these little things in my apartment, usually on the walls/ceilings.
My cat continually pisses/shits in my bed and sometimes elsewhere outside of her litter box. Her litter box is completely clean. I've had her for 3 years and sometimes she just decides to ruin my things for a while. I'm at a loss of what to do besides getting rid of her at this point.
Is she desexed? Do you have other animals/are there strays in the area? How big is your house, do you keep her locked up in a single room? Has she been checked by a vet? Could have a medical issue.
When my cat started peeing everywhere we found he had a tumor pushing on his bladder.
>>2112021
Yes she's spade, no other animals, 3 bedroom apartment of a decent size. Haven't had her checked this time but when i did before nothing was wrong. I don't think it's a medical thing as she pooped in my bed yesterday and shit and pissed in in tonight so it's not just a bladder thing.

Your cat is severely stressed about something in her environment. Might as well just re-home her. You aren't happy, she isn't happy.
Cats or dogs?

Dogs are the master race.
Cats are nice but there's less reward in keeping them. They're ungrateful little shits and it's a bitch to train them not to do anything.

Doggy day care!!
Does your dog go? Have you ever worked at one? It's my dog's first day. I hope she's having fun.
Well, like anything, it depends on where you go. Some people just board them all day and only let them out to pee. Some people claim otherwise, but don't follow through. Generally, major chains are trustworthy (as in, you can take them for their word). Smaller or private owner places, you'll have to use your instinct.
You would no better than us, really.
I've never worked at one, but I hear that the dogs really like going. I'm sure she's having a good time
>>2110679
Oh, right ... the best indication is if the dog wants to go back the next day. If it's digging in so it doesn't have to go in the door, well, then she didn't like it so much. How hard she tries to not go in will tell you if she just doesn't want to be away from you, or if she really hates that place. If you can't lure her in the door with sweet words and a treat, then it's probably pretty bad.

Hey /an/
I've had this little self contained environment going for about a month now (5 weeks to be precise) I've got a beaker the size of a football (soccer ball) that I plan on using next.
Anyway this environment contains some large plants, duckweed, snails ( can't keep count they breed like rabbits) and some detritus worms to breakdown all the snail poop and help put nutrients back in the water. So far this ecosystem has been totally self sustained, I just need to add sunlight and it is thriving. Anyone else do this kind of thing? General discussion is 100% welcome
>>2106955
That's really cool!
If the snails are indeed breeding like rabbits though, a miniature extinction event could befall this little ecosystem. First, the snails could eat themselves out of house and home, and then die. The increased ammonia level in the water from decomposition could kill off whatever is left.
On the other hand, it is possible that the snails will stop breeding once they feel too crowded.
Be sure to monitor this experiment. It is quite fascinating.
Yes, Anon. I do.

>Abronia graminea is an endangered arboreal alligator lizard described in 1864 by Cope. This species is endemic to the highlands of the states of Veracruz and adjacent Puebla, Mexico. It is considered to be moderately common and is regularly recorded, but its abundance is decreasing. Animals inhabit bromeliads in the canopy of montane pine-oak and cloud forest. It seems unlikely that this species can be found in degraded habitat. This is a viviparous species. The species is threatened by deforestation and degradation of habitat, largely through the conversion of land to agricultural use. The pet trade is a potential aid to the preservation of this species through captive breeding programs.

What kind of bug is this? It tried to sting me so I killed it...
Tarantula hawk.
>tried to sting you
And you know that how?
>>2114207
No.
It is some species of parasitoid wasp though. Absolutely not a tarantula hawk, and almost all parasitoid wasps cannot and do not sting humans under any circumstances.
Tarantula hawks and velvet ants can though, but even they only do if they think you're attacking them.
I saw a stinger, it most definitely was some sort of defense. I'm a Kentuckyfag
I found a kitten in the walls at my office, and brought him back home. Is there anything I should know to make sure he's okay? I have an adult cat but she's much older and I don't really know how to raise a kitten.
>>2114107
>a kitten in the walls at my office
were there other kittens?? is the mother there??
>>2114144
>other kittens
Not that we found. That said, this isn't the first time we have found a kitten in the walls.
>mother
The ones we found a few months ago looked like this little guy, so there is an unidentified mother out there.
>>2114178
Keep an eye out. Mom cats move their kittens one by one all the time. She probably isn't far with the rest of the kittens. She may have just left this one behind.
How much is .15 ml? My pet is on antibiotics and I can't figure out how much to fill up the syringe.
>>2114102
this, famalam
Did that actually come with the medication, or was it a generic one that they gave you?
Honestly, I wouldn't even bother starting it up until you get a more precise syringe. You're bound to fuck it up one way or another with that thing.
>>2114102
Don't do this.
Hey /an/
What do here?
I recently moved in with my boyfriend. He has a cat and I have a dog. He's had his cat a near year and I noticed it would get repeat eye infections, so I brought it to the vet and the vet diagnosed him with conjunctivitis and I bought it some drops. I would get it's eyes cleared up and it would get another one almost immediately.
After a bit, I started noticing how much my boyfriend neglects his cat litter the longer I lived with him, the first few months he was on top of it all the time.
If I don't do it, he will let it go weeks. Where as I scoop daily, and dump it weekly. He said if I am going to be this 'anal' with the litter then I should buy the litter since I'm 'wasting' it. I tried to explain to him that it's not wasting and cats need their litter cleaned every day.
I'm getting very angry with him on his neglect of his cat that takes literally 1 minute to clean, and 5 minutes to dump weekly. I even was kind enough to buy him a second litter box and explained that one cat needs at least two boxes. His thought process is so fucking retarded he just thinks he can let the box go longer since there is two. The first time I cleaned the box there was over 50 stools and it was nearly all urine. I was livid.
Now I really don't care about buying the cats litter. I buy a huge bulk amount at a farm shop for my small animals and it's pennies. But it pisses me off I clean his cats litter daily and I know for a fact he doesn't even open the back door for my dog to go potty when I'm at work. I told him its neglect and asked him if he'd let a child sit in a dirty diaper all day but that's 'different'. I really don't see it being any different when his cat was getting eye infections from a dirty box and my dog is left to 'hold' it while I'm at work?
What the fuck do I do. How do I change his thought process, because it's really making me both mad and sad.

Why are stray cats so weird /an/?
First of all, why are they so wary of humans when they have no reason to be?
Also despite being weary of humans they do some pretty oddly brave things. For example I have a lot of stray cats in my area, and if I live my door open they will just walk in to my house. Pretty strange behavior if they're wary of humans.
And if I ever get them in my garden and I go outside, they will walk to within one metre of me, but every time I try and stroke them they will move back. Yet they wont run away scared, they keep coming back to within a metre of me until I try and stroke them again.
How do I befriend my local stray population /an/?
Feed them. They may never let you pet them, but they'll at least be less wary of you. And if you're fond of them and are going to feed them, the kindest thing you can do for them is to get them spayed and neutered. My local TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program charges 20 bucks per cat. They even cover the cost if the person is too poor to pay.
Brace yourself for several /an/ posters who are about to charge in here foaming at the mouth. Some people REALLY hate stray/feral cats. Providing links to nationwide studies and comparisons of the different methods to control the feral cat population (spoiler: TNR is more effective than mass euthanizing) does nothing to sway them.
>>2113849
This OP. My neighborhood had a shitload of strays and I used a similar program. Worked out great, they all became relatively tame too and let me pet them and pick them up.
Now they all just lie around my lawn being lazy shits.
>>2113843
That's kittens. You can easily send them to a pet shop and they will take care of it.
Being around other cats that are human friendly will teach them.
