Just found this guy. What species is it? Is it going to harm me if it bites me?
>>2159267
Jumping spider, maybe won't hurt you, and take a better picture man.
>>2159267
It's a salticid.
It will harm you if it bites you, because bites usually involve puncturing skin.
The pertinent questions are "will it bite you?" and "how bad would a bite be?"
The answer to the former is "no, you idiot."
The answer to the latter is "less than poking yourself with a needle, unless you're fucking dirty as shit in which case you'll get an infection from your own gross skin like 90% of all 'brown recluse bites'"
I'm still mad.
Then you obviously don't know shit about working with wild animals
Same.buy I understand why they killed him. The kids head was bombing against the ground as harambe ran across the enclosure. But I don't think he was going to kill him

> have to use the bathroom
> door doesn't latch properly, but I close it anyway
> time for business
> dog slams paw into door
> literally punches it open
> shuffles inside and flops on rug
> seconds later cat walks in
> sits on tub and maintains eye-contact while I shit
> purrs loudly the whole time
> finish up and leave bathroom
> cat wanders out to go sit at window
> dog flops on couch
I can't use the bathroom without having these two fucktards come crashing in. Why animals do this?
They just want to be with you.

>> dog slams paw into door
>> literally punches it open
my dog does this also
but I figured out if I turn the handle as I close the door, it'll latch properly. funny to hear him punching and headbutting the door to get in
they just like to be where you are, OP
>Not hanging out with your animals while you take a dump
LOOKS LIKE WE GOT OURSELVES A PLEB
Sup /an/ . i basically have nowhere else to ask this but im hoping you all can help. Pic is my spiderbro, nacho. Somehow my gfs cat got onto the shelf i keep his tank on and knocked it over. I woke up to an open empty tank. Id like either a way to lure spiderbro out of hiding, assuming that he is, or definitively prove the cat ate him. I fucking hate this cat and miss my spiderbro. Help me /an/. Youre my only hope.
No, man, that thing is dead and gone.
>>2158158
You wont be able to lure it.
But look in dark corners or near a heat supply
I don't know if you guys can tell by the name, but I love foxes. I hear how they are hard to take care of, but I still wish to own one, I came to the conclusion that I would keep it outdoors, and not indoors, so it can tear up the yard, and not my home. Idk, what should I do?
>>2158030
If you actually love foxes do not try to own one. Volunteer at a sanctuary.
Not a good idea unless you have the funds and space for it. They are called wild animals for a reason
So do all foxes a favor, and just dont impulse buy ok?
Who the fuck walks into an animal shelter or goes to find a breeder and thinks, "yes, this one breed that is responsible for 75% of fatal attacks is the animal I want to cuddle with."
But anon they just musundastood iz all about the training iz muh nanny dog
To be fair, you can do the same thing for akitas, GSDs, rottweilers, and huskys.
>I am going to spend thousands of dollars on a breed consistently ranked as having one of the highest incidents of attacks on people.
They're really good at weight pull and drafting.
>>2157408
This. I love chows despite their aggression and I plan on getting a GSD puppy for Schutzhund.
Please help. Found two of these guys on the street. One seems injured. I'm not sure what to do before I take them. I want to feed them something in the meantime and I want to be sure.
>>2157091
What do you mean by "on the street" and why do you think the other is injured?
Not to sound like an ass,
but you should have let nature take its course.
That's a fledgling, they're not supposed to be in a nest any longer. it's too big. It's parents are out looking for it, and they bring it food and feed it on the ground.
Put it back where you found it ASAP and you better HOPE the parents are still looking for it. Because if they assumed that they are dead and moved on, well, then it's 100% your fault they died. So I hope you're proud of yourself.
How intelligent are they? Do they resent and hate us? Will we ever make peace?
No. they are still pissed off about the Sea World thing.
>>2151917
Well how many sea world dolphins have been released? I'd imagine theyed only know about orcas abducted by sea world or being killed by whalers?
After all, pacific NW tribes have hunted orcas for centuries
>>2151918
Dolphins have been known to rape divers too.
>So anon, what made you give your pet that name?
Well, she's a reptile and kind of a bitch.
Cuntasaur just seemed fitting.
He was black,
so I called him Blacky.
It was the name the rescue groups gave them. I only rescue animals, and it is my tradition to keep the names they got.
Adopt, don't shop, bbqgrill

Anyone have fruit trees? Currently on a stepladder under the cherry tree in the backyard.
Some of the chickens decided to help clean up the bad ones.
>>2159839
>chickonz
it must be fun to have chikonz and shit
my friend told me a story about chikonz he said they're tough as nails, he said one of his chikonz got basically its entire breast muscle on one side just ripped off its body by a fox, and it actually healed up and continued living normally
Got enough cherries, time for black raspberries.
>>2159846
Yeah they're fun. Haven't had any attacked by foxes, but one was killed by a hawk last winter.
Bf's parents found it in their front yard. Never seen a spider like this

Is it a good idea to add plants from outside to vivariums? Will it harm my tarantulas/scorpions?
I found these from my backyard, , my terrariums mostly have ferns and pothos but I thought I might add some small stuff as fillers/diversity I just dont know if its a no no, can someone ID them out of curiosity anyway?
It's very likely that they won't grow well indoors.
>>2159328
Don't. Parasites, mites, disease, you know - all that good stuff.
Grow plants from seed in baked soil if you really need them.
Hey everyone. I just bought two Guinea Pigs, Keisuke and Ryosuke, and I saw a few online guides on how to take care of them but /an/ tends to come up with really good tips on how to tend to pets. What are certain things I should do to make sure they're happy and healthy? Are there speciic foods I should focus on, or avoid? Can they be fed mostly on rations or should try to balance it out with vegetables? I read that they like carrots and bellpeppers, and so far I had success trying the former. I also cut pieces of a big fleece sheet I had stored around and made some soft zones for them to rest on, including a comfortable nest of sorts. Any other tips, advices, anything?
As far as interactions went, Ryosuke (the black one) is pretty amiable and has been accepting of carresses and treats, and doesn't really seem to be all too nervous about touching or even being moved around. Keisuke on the other hand seems to sort of freeze up, staring blankly while making purr-like noises when he's being caressed. It's hard to tell if he's scared shitless or enjoying it and just happens to be too quiet for his own good. Otherwise, both have been eating and drinking regularly and are adapting to their new home.
Bump?
Hey man, I've had a guina pig back in time but it didnt last long. Anyway, the lil guys like carrots, apple and many more vegetable. With that they tend to poop a lot and it it up again but it's normal. Make sure they drink and eat regularly, if they don't it's a bad sign.
They're top tier cute and fun to play with so have fun with them !
Cute guinea pigs. The left one (keisuke?) looks very fluffy
Alright, so I live in my mother's basement and the other day, while I was working, I noticed this strange banging against my room's well window (the place where frogs tend to jump into and can't get out). During my break I decided to check it out. I was confused because there was nothing there except the weeds (which have been growing for years.) So I go back to work. Then it starts happening again and I still can't see anything in the weeds. After probably several hours of work and programming burnout, I decide to go and wait at the window for it to happen again. And motherfuck, it was a little bunny rabbit slamming against the window trying to get out of the well. I felt terrible that I hadn't investigated further before so I rushed outside and got my shovel to make a platform for it to jump onto and out of the well.
Alright, there's my shitty story for wild animal assistance, please blow me away with yours /an/.
Pic is of the rabbit, sorry for shitty quality.

brump
Don't have a pic to go with this but it'll have to do.
About three years ago my mother and I were driving home from work. We decided to take the back way after stopping at the gym; it's a two-lane road that turns into a four-lane after a stoplight. We pass that and I see, out my window, a snapping turtle that's the size of a large backpack trying to cross the road. In afternoon, rush hour traffic.
I shouted at my mom to turn around, she does, and we got stuck at the light we just passed trying to reach it. So I got out and haul ass across the road back to it, just in time to grab its shell, inches from the pavement, and keep it from going to the Great Pond in the sky. Mom pulled up, turned on her emergency flashers for that lane, and we tried to steer the snapper (now pissy that we’ve interrupted it) back down the steep, grassy incline from whence it came.
And then the cops showed up (cont?)
>>2159643
yeah, cont, where is this?
